While in Loganville, It's always a bit of wonder, as to what you may find to eat as there are not many options here. I picked this place since I seemed to be the safest and not just fried options . I looked at the photos, the Plaza, then quickly decided that I better not have high hopes for this place. You can order take out by the pound here from their buffet. I had a few pieces of sushi, teriyaki chicken, spring rolls, mini egg foo young, string beans, and mushrooms. To my surprise everything tasted great! I love the mushrooms and even more so the sauce that came in, the chicken teriyaki was very very good, even the string beans were cooked perfectly with nice bright green color. I feel like I need to update my review to clarify a few things. I would like to say first and foremost that this buffet is exactly what you should expect in a more rural setting. It IS small, and the selection IS limited. The food is not the best I have ever had, it's true. However, it is reliable, the price is very affordable, and the food for the most part does taste decent. They keep the buffet well stocked and I have never seen them run out of a dish. For those reasons I keep returning. I will happily eat lo mein, chicken on a stick, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, crab Rangoon, veggies and egg drop soup here. As for the rest, I generally either don't eat that, or I don't like it. I don't eat shrimp, so I don't touch them- but my husband won't eat them here because they aren't deveined. The texture on some of the meats is a little weird like the mala chicken and Mongolian beef and I just stay away from them- I assume that for the price it just has to do with quality limitations. I just think that people need to temper their expectations when they come here. This is not going to be a 5 star buffet with trays and trays and trays of food and you should not expect that for $12.99 (dinner). I've never had anything other than the buffet here so I can't speak to if takeout is a different quality. read more

Came here after hearing the nice reviews about this place, and I want to disagree with them. One, their food had an off-taste & bland flavor, and the seats were all ripped up. When it came down to the bill, we gave them a generous tip and then they proceeded to persist about wanting more tip. This place is my "go-to" place for "to-go" Americanized Chinese takeout in the Loganville area. When family comes to town and no one can agree what to eat, this AYCE buffet can make everyone happy. I'll try other places when I'm not nearby (I have another regular place near my office), and Hong Kong Buffet is the yardstick by which they are measured. However, my review is going to be brutally honest since Yelpers should know what to expect on their first visit. THE GOOD * The owner/manager is a very attentive and friendly woman who remembers all her customers - even over the phone. She is great, she works hard and her charm is often the best part of coming here. * The flavors coming out of the kitchen are exactly what you should get from good American Chinese takeout. The eggroll* and fried rice are nearly perfect. * The portions are hefty, like all the best takeouts are. * I love, love, love the fried dumplings and wontons - even the ones on the buffet. * The prices are reasonable - both the buffet and the takeout. THE BAD * The staff (other than the owner) usually look unhappy or grumpy. * The three small buffet tables (plus one dessert/sushi table) don't allow for massive variety. Which means that sometimes during the evening rush it gets picked over in a very unappetizing way. * The flavors are exactly what you anticipate from American Chinese takeout. (Wait, that was in THE GOOD list! Yes, it was; I shouldn't hope for it, but I wish there was something on the menu that made me say, "Wow! Try this! You can't get this anywhere else!") THE UGLY * The store is badly in need of an update: what was stylish in the 80s now just looks tacky and sad. Some modern colors and a fresh design could make dining here feel fancier and happier. * Watching the other local customers, especially at the buffet, can be more disturbing and off-putting than people-watching at WalMart. (It's often a Honey-Boo-Boo crowd.) That could improve if HKB goes upscale a titch. I do love this place - I'm here several times every month. I really enjoy the food and I love supporting a local business owner. I've long ago given up trying to enjoy "authentic" Asian, including Indian and Thai. Pu Pu Platter: Lobster Rolls - decent but not much lobster. 3 stars Egg Rolls - decent but not much flavor or cabbage. It had chicken strips, probably the same that is used in sweet & sour chicken. It came with a sauce on the side that was kind of like chicken gravy. The almonds were toasted or something. I used to love this buffet. The Mongolian beef and teriyaki chicken was my favorite. The last time I went there I was getting something off the cold bar. And I seen something run across the bar. At first I was walking off but my nosey self turned around to see what it was. I looked close and it was a pregnant roach. A German cockroach One of the servers was coming out the back and I pointed it out to her and she hit it on the floor with her hand, then stepped on it. She didn't even look surprised to a roach in there which lead me to believe that she's used to it. Which means that they have roaches. I went back to my table and was looking up the health department. The lady came over to my table asking me not to contact the health department. She discounted our meal, gave my kids some toys and a calendar and here's the kicker she gave me a necklace with a key on it. It's really pretty I think she might've been wearing it. It must be real because it hasn't changed colors or anything yet but I haven't worn it it's just hanging in my jewelry box. After this experience I started looking up reviews on this restaurant. I found some on google that mentioned the roaches as well so I never went back to this place and probably never will. Some dishes came off as rather bland. I guess they do that to appeal to a wider range of diners, from kids to seniors. Food is subpar, you get what you pay for. Cheap food, not much of a selection. 5 sushi options but I avoided it because I didn't trust it. I went for imitation crab and cream cheese roll because it wasn't real seafood. A lot of the food looked old and dried out. The rice was also old and dry. The noodles were not rice noodles, it was angel hair pasta. That caught me off guard. The old food is not removed from the buffet, the new food is dumped right onto the old food, so don't go near the bottom of the food. I watched the food guy dumping New onto old food. I was getting mushrooms and he waited for me to get my spoonful of kinda grayish looking mushrooms before dumping new fresh white ones into the bowl. I was shocked. They did the same with the rice and all the other food. None of the food was labeled properly, the labels looked at least a year old. If you have food allergies avoid this place like the plague.
