I've written several reviews of this place over the years. Used to be my favorite. However, I am not sure if they got new ownership or what but the good seriously went downhill. I've been eating here for 17 years. I know what it used to taste like. Recently order 2 main dishes, several orders of dumplings, crab wontons, and Lo mein. The sauces are thin and flavorless now. The crab wontons tasted stale and rubbery like fried ahead. The wontons have changed shape a look like they are from H-Mart. Not what I expected from my former favorite spot. I usually order from this restaurant through Uber Eats, and there seems to be a recurring issue with missing items. Almost every order is missing egg rolls, and the sweet-and-sour sauce containers are often only half full or less. This latest order was the final straw. Not only were the egg rolls missing again (even after I specifically mentioned them in the order notes), but an entire meal was also missing. When I called the restaurant, I was told twice to get a refund through Uber Eats and then the employee hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with a manager. After some discussion in another language, I was told the manager wasn't there. Mistakes happen, but repeatedly missing items and poor customer service when trying to resolve the issue are unacceptable. I have been a regular customer, but this experience has left me extremely disappointed. After multiple orders with the same issues and no effort to make things right, I won't be ordering from here anymore and cannot recommend this restaurant to others. They are expensive on Uber Eats and Uber doesn't always refund your full amount of money! read more

This is my first time trying this place and I was extremely happy with my choice. China Cafe is more of a takeout spot with a few tables. The staff were friendly and the service was good. We ordered online for pickup and the staff call us to further clarify parts of our order (extra points for that). The food was great! I added mono sodium glutamate aka MSG (I'm not scared and I'm glad they have that option) and the food was great!!!! Was in the area, so grabbed a quick bite, never been here before ... The young lady at the front was somewhat rude, too occupied to her phone to take orders. The order was eventually wrong. I ordered friend dumplings, receipt said fried - received steamed. I pointed it out. The cook literally took the steamed ones I gave back and dropped them to fry. My wife and I visit China Cafe often. Literally the best Chinese food in the area and you probably wouldn't even know it. The Parking: It's within a shopping center next to a Kroger, so plenty of free parking. The Atmosphere: Since Covid, they've been pick-up only. No dining in. The Service: Really nice staff. The Food: The food here is delicious. We typically get the pepper steak with white rice or fried rice & crab rangoon. The crab rangoon are addictive. I can eat the whole bag in one sitting. And the dipping sauce for them......OMG! This time around, we also ordered the Singapore Mei Fun. Veryyyyyy good! I highly recommend. Overall, if you're in the Grayson, Snellville, Loganville area, I'd highly recommend ordering from here. read more

I ordered the house fried rice and asked for it to be spicy. The food was good, portion size generous and price is reasonable. I waited a long time for my food though. Mobile orders were priority it seems. Better to call ahead or order mobile than to do it in restaurant. I'd go back again. read more

We just moved into the area and were looking for a Chinese restaurant to replace our favorite place close to our last home of 30+ years. We decided to try China Cafe because it was so close. I am glad we did! The food was great! We placed a large order to sample our favorites first, as this is always the true measure of quality. The spring rolls were good; we got the steamed potstickers (one of our favorites) and then two entrees. I got chicken and broccoli, and the broccoli was very fresh and crisp. Had the sesame chicken, fried rice and chicken wings here. Chicken wings were ok. Sesame chicken definitely wasn't made with real chicken so I would not recommend. Fried rice was not good. This restaurant has a sign inside stating that they will give free food if you write a good review. As such the good reviews for this restaurant are likely artificially inflated. read more

I'm a born & bred New Yorker and could not wait to try China Cafe after hearing a fellow NYCer raving about it. So, is it a NY Chinese restaurant like the menu says? NO Is it much closer to NY style than the majority of restaurants in the area? YES The lunch menu is about $6.50 per plate and portion size is great! The shrimp with garlic sauce was filled with vegetables and the sauce was flavorful but not much garlic. The shrimp fried rice was good & had a substantial amount of shrimp and mixed vegetables. They have a full menu of food options and everything is well priced. It's worth a try and I will definitely be back to see if their service and food quality is consistent. read more

The best Chinese take out in the area! Great food and great service. This place has a very unusual atmosphere when you first walk in. The pick up window is entirely covered in plexiglass and has no tables. The restaurant went completely take out during the lockdown and never changed back after. It's kind of a odd reminder of the pandemic and feels really cold. I can't blame them for wanting to feel safe but it's a weird business move. Once you get past the ambiance and get to know the staff; scratch that, Family. You get the nicest people serving the best NYC Chinese take out around! Some of the highlight dishes are the Cashew chicken and pork dishes. They have a massive menu and everything is cooked to order using fresh ingredients. DO NOT EAT HERE! Unless you want botulism!!! Our chicken was super pink and RAW, the lo mein was overcooked and soggy and our soups were oily and yellow!!! I'm not sure what all the hype is about with this restaurant. It is good but it's not exactly over the top special. I do love what they've done for the covid stuff by adding a full plexiglass wall with a little door to pay and a box they put the food in. If nothing else I'm sure it keeps flys and other bugs from getting in the kitchen so it's pretty cool. The food is good, I've eaten here several times and tried various dishes and never had a bad meal. I always call in to place an order and it's always ready by the time I get there and it's crazy hot so slow your roll and don't dive in too quickly!!! The staff is always friendly and they make sure I know where the sauces and plastic forks are so I don't forget anything. I definitely recommend China Cafe but it's not some amazing, spectacular, over the top food like some of these reviews make it seem. After reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. Finding good Chinese food down here in GA has been challenging since we moved here. Well, it was just average to me. Not bad but didn't live up to the hype. The General Tsos Chicken wasn't spicy at all, just sweet. Fried rice wasn't fried it was yellow rice with a little onion and peas with the combo. Hubby ordered Shrimp Fried Rice. It was a large box full of yellow rice and a few shrimp. The Crab Rangoon was too sweet. Egg Rolls were decent though. It's a little bit pricey, but the portion sizes make up for it. I normally order the beef lo mein, sesame chicken, and a side of white rice.
