Sometimes social media gets it right and sometimes social media misses the mark…read more To suggest a place is high top great only to experience it yourself is a bit off putting to say the least and when it comes to Golden Apple Buffet, social media missed it... So the place is in Snellville just past the Cookout next to the Texas Roadhouse. And let me be clear, this is a Chinese buffet so expect it to be as kitschy and stereotypical of your previous Chinese buffet experiences. The interior is well lit, booths are a bit crammed and the food stations are not as extensive for options. The service is literally non-existent. They bus your tables and are up to speed with refills which is basic service anyways. Now for the food. It's a buffet so it's not much to write home about. Seeing that it is a Chinese buffet, I decided to stay on the familiars. Pepper steak, lo mein, some crawfish, a baked pasta, and decided to try the pho So the Chinese options weren't that bad. The baked pasta was decent. Lo mein was flavorful. The teriyaki chicken was a bit off and the pho... well... the pho was a let down. The options were minimal. Four stations, with a noodle soup options, hibachi, and sushi tucked in the back. Can't say this buffet experience was all that it was hyped up to be. It was small, very minimal in terms of food options, lacked any sense of flavor for a buffet but the place was clean, well lit, and fast. At $20.99 for dinner plus tax and tip you're not paying much for AYCE but suffice to say, quality is subpar, options are much to be desired, and yet it's probably the best thing for AYCE Snellville has to offer and that's not saying a whole lot for Snellville

I almost don't want to write this review because I feel like it's such a hidden gem. They have a delicious selection of desserts, my fav being the peach cobbler with their soft serve ice cream. For lunch I especially love the meat roast over rice with mac and cheese. The fried chicken is always fresh and made to perfection, as well as their large selection of sides. The seafood is really good, my favorite being the fried shrimp and salmon, I believe they only have this on weekends though. The staff is super sweet and attentive, making it a great experience overall. Would definitely recommend for a family dinner or date with your loved one!

I went for lunch and was excited to have greens, cornbread and dressing. The dressing had no flavor except it was extremely salty. I could not see any celery or onion in it. The greens were also over salted . I saw an awesome looking pork chop and again way over salted. The banana pudding tasted like canned vanilla pudding with only a small amount of bananas and crackers. I was told the food is only seasoned correctly if Ms. Virginia is there. Consistency is a must for a restaurant to survive. Overall I was very disappointed. Additionally the sweet tea which I normally love tasted like sugar syrup. Way too much sugar. I am not sure I can recommend it at this point. I will say the waitress was very attentive.

This place... Let me…read morestart off my saying we had a large group of 14 people. Too many options to list. Reasonably priced Vegas Style Buffet for sure without the inflated prices. Their sushi and sashimi as well as carving station are worth the visit alone. Then the unlimited drinks and dessert are even more added value. I really enjoyed the sashimi. It seemed like all other guests did too. The drinks and dessert options were great. My kids loved their offerings. The place is like a night club with a huge lobby/waiting area. There are VIP sections as well for a more intimate option for patrons. The service is excellent. Vivian was our server and cleared plates quickly as well as refilled drinks. I wouldn't hesitate when visiting town again. Hope to be back soon.

With that said, most of what you see on my two plates was lukewarm at best, nothing was really what I would call hot, which I get since it has to sit around waiting to be consumed and if it was hot for an extended period of time it would be overcooked....but eating cold braised pork belly-when it should be hot-isn't my idea of a real good time. The peppercorn and chili chicken was super tasty but you are going to end up picking bones and dried peppercorns out of just about every bite. Fried rice was cold, had pineapples in it and was not seasoned in the least. Pass on it. I'm not really a sushi person, but that's what half of the offerings were. If raw fish and sushi rolls are your jam...hit this place up since it's AYCE. Our server was super nice and very attentive even for it being busy and lunch time. Place was clean and so was every piece of dishware I used. I liked that you could get specialty drinks like boba, Thai tea, and juices as you wanted them. I'd come back on a weekend to check out their offerings for their "all day dinner" menu...but it's not a repeat for lunch in terms of coming back.
