Years ago I really liked the buffet and the takeout. I got the Singapore chow mei fun, and it was heavily seasoned with curry. The lady that ran the place then was really nice and asked me what made me order that. I told I like curry and she said that was good because her daughter was a doctor and curry is good for preventing Alzheimer's. She was great and very knowledgeable. It was Sunday after church services. my husband and I drove almost an hour to get to this restaurant. We ordered over $50 worth of food and went home to enjoy this Chinese food. We ordered chop Suey; the vegetables were overcooked and slimy. We ordered pork fried rice, the pork was hard and unflavored, and the rice was as well.. We ordered chow mein noodles, which were stiff and not flavorful. oh yes, the fried rice tasted like it was cooked in all Grease, which made it not edible. We could not eat the food after getting home and had to give it to the birds. A waste of time and a waste of money on this phony Hong Kong food. I tried calling the restaurant after such a horrible experience and asked for the manager; they hung up on me. There was a fax number on their menu which I fax my complaint; they disconnected the fax. In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant. It looked clean when walking into the building, but there were two or three people in this large restaurant space which should've been an indication that perhaps the was not I hope people look at this review because I am one that hardly ever leaves a review for restaurant food, but I simply had to let any and everyone know that if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, this is not the place to go. read more

TL;DR - Poor food quality and taste. Avoid. I ordered takeout so it would be cooked fresh and hot. The food appears to have been taken from their lunch buffet. I got chicken fried rice and a couple of eggrolls. The rice is not fried rice. It is rice that has been cooked in a rice cooker with yellow food coloring and then the chicken strips have been boiled and set aside. When you place your order they just mix the rice and the chicken and a few cut up vegetables. It is incredibly bland and had to be drowned in soy sauce to have any flavor whatsoever. I hate to leave a 1 star here because the old couple that owns it are nice. But geez. This this the most extreme example of just bland cookie cutter so called "chinese" food I have ever eaten. It's not that it's bad or unsafe to eat it's just bland tasteless spiceless. No actual Chinese person would actually eat anything here. Food taste isn't right. If you order fried rice, order it without the meat if possible because the chicken in the chicken fried rice is disgusting. Not sure if it's undercooked, spoiled, or just bad seasoning. We had to spit it out. The fried rice had some vegetables and was surprisingly ok. Not sure why they put chicken in it. Sweet and sour chicken isn't good. Their oil needed changing and the seasonings (if there was any) wasn't right. The sweet and sour sauce barely had any flavor and was really thin like water. All in all, if you're really low on money, this place is a decent price for a decent amount of food. We ended up throwing out half our takeout order because it wasn't good so it was money wasted. Decided to try out the buffet chinese dinner and was very disappointed. My tea tasted dirty, like they haven't washed the tea maker in years. I couldn't drink it. We went at 6:30pm and there was only two tables there dining. That should have been our sign to turn around and leave. Fried rice was a weird color. The lo mein was ok. Sesame chicken was ok. We've been ordering takeout for years. And the owner is beyond kind wanting to make sure orders are not only taken correctly but checked before you pay to ensure u have all u ordered. He is the person we've predominately worked with these last couple of years which has been only takeout during this time. And our food is always fresh, hot, plentiful, and very good. We consistently order pretty much the same items from Wonton soup, Hot & Sour Soup, wontons, mei fun, lo mein, s/s chicken, friend rice, seasame chicken, and the pork with vegetables which is as good as any we've had in multiple cities. The location is very convenient for us with the exception of parking difficulties which is no fault of the restaurant -patrons of the gym next door generally have literally every parking space especially from 5 to 8pm with the only option for non handicap parking being the last one or two parking spaces at the end of the rows. That's a minor inconvenience for being able to support a local business owned by kind people who often will bring our order to our car outside You can't much better than such great customer service along with great food. read more

When i had walked in i was greeted by a kid at the counter. The whole resturaunt had a dirty smell to it. The seats had rips and tears in them. The service was mediocre. The tea had a dirty taste to it. The food at the buffet was cold and did have a bland taste to it. This was my first and last time visiting this place as my experience there was not great at all. I do not recommend this place. They need to learn how to properly handle the food as it needs to be kept at a certain temperature. This is my go-to "dive" Chinese buffet when I want good old greasy American Chinese standards. Food is predictable stuff. General Tso's is very sweet, sweet and sour chicken is that puffy-style breading, and that sauce is neon red. You know the type of place. It's probably bad for your body but a nice guilty pleasure. My daughter likes the fact that they have free ice cream. The teriyaki chicken is really good, as are the pork strips on the skewers. Price is fine for lunch. Not cheap but not expensive. I agree that the place is not a good environment. It's hot in the summer, like they don't turn on the AC or something. Carpet and nylon upholstery seem dirty. You can't come here expecting anything nice; it's plain old small town Chinese buffet. This place isn't very good. The food tastes like oil with texture. The only thing I ended up eating was the steamed dumplings and honey dew (green sister to the cantaloupe). I really hate to write such a review because I really love Chinese buffets as they tend to be reasonably priced and all you can eat. I found that this was instead, all I wouldn't eat. I definitely think one would have a better experience driving to Countyline rd and eating at one of the few Chinese buffets there. read more

I've never been to a worse Chinese Buffet! I came in around dinner time this past week so hungry for good Chinese, and since this is Madison, I expected good quality. The egg drop soup was flavorless, the General Tso's Chicken was somewhat bland as well, not that sweet tangy flavor one expects. The Coconut Shrimp tasted a little rubbery and were lacking in the coconut sauce. The Beef and Peppers dish had a mushy consistency. Basically everything tasted as if it had been sitting out all day! I usually give a place three good tries but not this time! Even the sweet tea tasted like sweetened water - no tea flavor! Most disappointing! Save your money! read more
