We ordered egg drop wonton soup, wonton soup, an egg roll, roast pork fried rice, shrimp and lobster sauce, and roast pork with Chinese vegetables. Unfortunately, the egg drop soup was not tasty, and while the egg roll was okay, the shrimp and lobster sauce was horrible. The sauce was too thin, and the container contained only three shrimp and five pieces of artificial crab. In my more than 65 years of eating Chinese food in various places, including NYC's Chinatown, Chinatown in Philly, Brooklyn, Staten Island, New Jersey, Florida, and other locations, I have never encountered artificial crab in this dish. The owner insisted that it was authentic. The roast pork fried rice was tasteless, with roast pork pieces the size of a grain of rice. The roast pork with Chinese vegetables was also disappointing; there were very few thinly sliced pieces of roast pork, mostly fat, with just one water chestnut, two pea pods, a few small pieces of baby corn, no mushrooms, and primarily celery. On the positive side, the Chinese fried noodles were great. I did call to complain, but after a frustrating conversation, I informed the woman that I would never order from her establishment again. If you decide to take a chance on ordering from there, be sure to check your bag. By the way, ordering over the phone was challenging because she doesn't understand English very well. Do yourself a favor and NEVER go to this place. I've visited all the local Chinese places in the Nazareth/Wind Gap area (a surprising number of them are here) and Hong Kong Chinese is absolutely the worst. The people are rude, they don't fill the containers with food, they skimp on the meat and fish in dishes, basic Chinese dishes like fried rice and wonton soup are so bland it's almost tasteless, and they are wildly overpriced. I gave them a third chance yesterday, because we were in Wind Gap and I wanted to be fair before I left a review. They screwed me again. Three times in three visits isn't a fluke or a bad day. It's a pattern. I got home to find the containers were 3/4 filled and in the case of the walnut chicken I ordered, it was barely half filled. And most of that was salad. Yes, you read that right, salad. Their menu mentioned lettuce and I thought it was a weird garnish that I'd just through out, but it's the bulk of the dish. The container was filled with lettuce, 6 small pieces of chicken pieces that were barely fried and the breading was pale white, and 10 walnuts. I counted them and yes, that was the ratio. The sauce had the consistency of soy sauce and for this dish, they charged $16.79. My wife ordered chicken and broccoli. The container was 3/4th filled like normal for them, almost all broccoli that was undercooked, and either they forgot the brown sauce or they used so little there was none in the container. It was actually dry, which is something I've never seen before. I called to complain (first time in my three visits) and try to see if they would remake our order right. The woman who answered was extremely rude and barely spoke English, so I was handed off to a guy who was disrespectful and refused to acknowledge any issues. I offered to bring everything back to show him and he said no. He would not remake it and would not refund anything. For over $30, the cost of our meals for two people, it was nowhere near worth it. I tried to eat the salad with walnut chicken, but it was so chewy and for some reason it was sour. I threw the rest away. My wife did the same and we vowed never to go back. The good reviews on here must be from the owners or their friends, because this place is TERRIBLE. read more

I can't stand Chinese food, I have always had a bad taste for it. My girlfriend love Chinese food. We came here after going to the gym one night, to eat quick after working all day and finishing the day with a good gym sesh. She had the General Tso chicken meal, I had the chicken lo mein meal, with some steamed dumplings, and hot & sour soup. Most of the time when you get Gen. Tso, it's not spicy, it's more of an orange chicken meal and lacks flavor. Hers was very spicy, plenty of rice, very tasty. She loved it. My chicken lo mein was very filling, noodles were great, veggies and chicken were cooked. The hot and sour soup, was amazing. The steamed dumplings were very filled and the sauce was great. This was one of the best Chinese experiences I have had in many, many recent years. We just ordered again yesterday. Highly recommend it. read more

Some dishes here are quite good, some are not. If you order the right thing, you're going to be very happy, if you don't...well...ya know. The chicken sticks here are probably my favorite in the Poconos. They don't use the red dye and make them look all fake, it's just quality meat from the broiler. When you're trying to go low carb, grabbing an order or two of those on the go is awesome. The wonton soup is just okay, I wouldn't order it again. The broth has mild flavor and the wontons themselves were just alright. The scallion pancakes are dense. They're practically like regular pancakes. I've eaten at quite a few traditional Chinese restaurants and these are not the same that you'd get from one of those places. They don't taste bad, just a different item altogether. The chicken and broccoli is pretty standard, but good. I'd get that again. The General Tang's is also middle of the road but you wouldn't be disappointed with it if you enjoy General Tso's. read more

For a local run of the mill Chinese restaurant the food is a cut above average. I usually do take out and depending on how long it stays in the carton for the trip home affects it's taste. Most people don't taste the difference but I do. There's not much more that I can say except enjoy what you're eating. read more

The flavor is fine, however, the last two times I have ordered here the portion sizes were horrible. The containers were only half filled and it literally looks like they count the number of veggies and proteins in each order. Food tastes great. Big improvement since last time I ordered from them. However, if you're looking for duck sauce for your rib order, better buy yourself a bottle over at Giant, because they won't give you any unless you order one of the meals THEY believe it goes with! They have become the condiment police! They're telling you how you can eat what you order. The food is okay if you're looking for something quick. The fried rice is very bland, I was very disappointed. The wonton soup is also just bland. Yes 3 stars, I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce and discovered when I got home that, yes there was shrimp, but there was also the imitation crab pieces in there to. Clearly imitation crab is less expensive and a good filler, but it's not what was ordered. I like to support my local business's and I still go there. Mostly bc there are limited choices in the area. Stopped in for a late dinner a few days before Christmas. I have eaten here several times before. The food is always tasty and served fast. I had one of their specials that comes with pork fried rice. Portions are large, and the prices are very inexpensive for what you get. It even came with a spring roll! Great food. Horrible customer service! My family likes this Chinese place the best in the nazareth/ wind gap area. However, the owner is a cheapskate when it comes to fixing mistakes that he or his workers make. There have been many times I have gotten back home only to find they forgot to put half my order in the bag. I've come back to get the rest of my order and there is no remorse. Most places would give you something for the trouble that they caused... a couple of free egg rolls, a free soda, a free pint of white rice... something! Even a coupon for next time's visit. Not this guy, they do nothing and barely apologize for their error. This is a family owned place, so it's the owner/ father of the clan that is the cheapskate. One time I asked to speak to the owner and the high school/ college age son got his father and the son even tried to talk his father into giving me something for my trouble, but he got nasty and didn't even understand the concept.
