Very different experience here. Order at the door and wait in your car, pay only when you receive your order. For most people coming here is a decent drive from home. Didn't love the chicken (just a really weird consistency but okay flavor). Pork fried rice is standard which I thought was weird. Overall, the white rice was the best item.... Typically very prompt and when delayed still on the schedule they say. Also the food is delicious and holds the same flavor and quality since they opened. The ambience was very relaxing until Covid. Since then it is pick up only, which I think actually improved the efficiency. read more

My daughter and I picked some food for my husband's Father's Day meal. My daughter ordered the shrimp and beef vegetable medley, for my husband shrimp and broccoli lo mein. They were excellent dishes. My daughter said it was the best Chinese food she's ever had! My husband was very very pleased as well! I don't mind ordering outside. Just had tonight and the Chinese was tasty. I ordered chicken wings fried extra crispy, shrimp mei fun, and veggie fried rice. Amazing

After a long break, I decided to give this take out restaurant another try. BIG mistake! I found the street side ordering disorganized and confusing. After a long wait, and confusing pick up process, I can only recommend checking your order before leaving the window which would require you to use the dirty sidewalk because the is no platform provided at the window. Upon arriving a home, I found both combination plates were missing the included egg rolls that were listed on the menu. The so called "Beef with Broccoli" contained very little edible beef, even my dog refused to eat the pieces I decided to share with him. The flavors were bland and unappetizing for the remainder of the dish. The "Chicken with Garlic Sauce" was mediocre compared to other restaurants. The Wonton soup was the best dish out of the whole order. I would have liked to have commented on the egg rolls, but were missing from the order. The prices were abhorrent for the food that was received. read more

Do not I repeat, do not order from this restaurant unless you want half your food to be missing. I drove about 20 minutes to pick up food at the restaurant. First of all they have everything closed because they still think there's Covid. You can't even go inside there. They have it packed so tightly in the bag I couldn't check to see if everything was in there. They did not give me the receipt of the menu where they circled everything so I could verify. They rushed me through rushed me out. I got home half my food was missing. I called them and the only way they would make it right is if I drive 25 minutes back there in 25 minutes home for them to give me what's missing. First and foremost, this Chinese restaurant is ripping you " AMERICANS " off. I bought a quart of Shrimp with Chinese vegetables a # 70 which on the online menu goes for $10.50 and a quart of egg drop soup a # 15 which goes for $2.70, well for all your information they charged me after I drove home and checked my bank account, they charged me $19.35. I guess the Chinese at this fast food place think American's are very stupid, but they need a lot to learn about American's. The " very old " story, " it is an old menu " is still being used. Food is nothing special but it's not awful. It'll fill the belly when you are in the mood for Asian/Chinese food. Helpings are decent, staff is respectful. You should know that I called in an order for pick up and when I arrived the front door was blocked by acrylic panel with a sliding drawer to pay & get your food order. I greatly enjoyed the sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice from here. The chicken is still crispy with its sauce. The pork fried rice is out of this world good. It is tastes like it is smoked with a good amount of pork. It is completely different than any other pork fried rice I've had. This is my go to Chinese restaurant for sesame chicken in PA! I ordered hunan chicken for my husband. Drove 25 minutes home to find out it's shrimp and not chicken. I called and asked for a refund. The woman who answered the phone then told what I'm guessing is the owner that I wanted a refund and you could hear her screaming in the back ground. The screaming woman then got on the phone and rudely told me I would have to drive the food all the way back for a refund. Absolutely absurd and unprofessional. Food is usually good, however the staff is horrendous. Children take the orders and deal with customers while the owner screams at them. My order is usually wrong or they don't give us things that are included (example: rice is often included in our order yet never in our bag). Lastly the wait time is ridiculous. Even when you call ahead be prepared to wait. I would be less upset if they told me my food would take an hour instead of sitting in the cramped restaurant for 45 minutes. read more

We wanted good Chinese food , drove in the first snow storm to get star garden and it was NOT good !!!!!!! We got General tso chicken which was soggy and plain fried rice , looked like yellow rice with NO flavor. Also, Mongolian beef... not good. The food is good here & they're the nicest people, but the 5 stars is because they deserve a shout-out for being the safest place in the West End, OK the Poconos, well maybe all of PA. Star Garden has set the gold standard for safety amid this crisis. All you restaurant owners should stop over to see how it should be done. They blocked the door with plywood, cut out the top half & covered it with clear acrylic. A speaker is installed for sound without exposure & clear acrylic boxes are installed to pass through your order, tips, receipts. No need to touch the credit card machine. They put it against a slit in the acrylic. You slide your card through the slit & pull it out. The sign says "Masks required". Most people obey. So, if you're craving Chinese, but you're afraid, go to Star Garden in Brodheadsville. You can't go wrong. read more
