The place can not be considered a 'spa' by any means but the therapist more than made up for the facility. While it was clean yet unadorned, the location was convenient and they made good use of available space. The attendant spoke little to no English and used her phone as a translation device and even that was a bit bumpy. "Midi o Straw" was what I heard and quickly realized she was asking if I wanted a Medium or Strong massage. I never figured a massage was to tickle so I said "Straw". I am used to Swedish and Deep Tissue massages and this, while different did not dissapoint. I will not go into details but suffice to say that this therapist took her work seriously as she beat out the knots in my back, arms and legs. The 'Asian' approach to massage was different but appreciated. I normally enjoy a little commentary or conversation during a session but here we had mostly silence although I could make out "straw"..."straw" while she was working on some impressive knots in my upper back. I guess she figured I would pass out from the pain but I saw it through to the end, looking forward to the relief when the pain ended. Would I go back? Certainly. Was the price fair? Yes, she worked her ass off. A substantial tip was gladly handed over at the end. Looking forward to next visit.

We discussed my frequent running and tight legs, and he designed a massage specifically targeting my areas of concern. I left not feeling bruised or sore like other deep tissue massages I've had in the past. The manipulation was firm, but also involving limb movement to get into the fascia more deeply. The massage itself was okay, although I had to adjust the sheet several times because I felt somewhat exposed and uncomfortable. At checkout, I was surprised when I was charged $95 instead of the $75 shown on the menu I had pointed to earlier. When I tried to ask about the price difference, the conversation became argumentative and she said she had worked very hard. Even though I was confused about the price, I still tipped $18, but she insisted that most customers tip $20. There was clearly a communication barrier, and I tried explaining that we seemed to be misunderstanding each other and that it might help to write down the service and price beforehand next time. Instead of resolving the situation, she eventually shooed me away while I was still trying to explain. Because of the unexpected price difference and the uncomfortable interaction at the end of the visit, I won't be returning. I went in (in person) on the day of my massage and filled out paperwork to cancel my membership after getting the run around that this could only be done in person. So, thinking everything was great (and canceled), I used up my last massage credits and went about life. After returning from vacation, I realized I had been charged at the end of June even though my membership should have been canceled. It took SEVERAL phone calls to actually get ahold of the manager. She was very apologetic and immediately sent me the SAME paperwork that I filled out in person via email. She also promised to reimburse me for my June charge. Again, I move on with my life...JUST noticed I was not only NOT reimbursed from June, but they were so kind to charge me again for July. Just called again and of course the manager wasn't available.
