Beware of their undisclosed overcharges. I was referred by another dentist to Dr. Tang. He briefly spoke to me for 2 minutes and we agreed to not go through with the procedure. As I was exiting, the office admin did not talk to me about any costs and said I was good to go. A few weeks later, I receive a bill in the mail that my short encounter cost $171 out of pocket. I went to the office in person to pay the bill. I asked Dr. Tang and the office admin why I am being charged for a consultation when I did not receive an actual consultation. I reminded them I only talked to Dr. Tang for 2 minutes. They replied that "just speaking to Dr. Tang is the consultation." There are so many other great dentists in this area who provide affordable and helpful consultations that are most likely completely covered by your insurance. I had initially went to a different office to have my root canal done and the service there was horrible; I felt uncomfortable getting my root canal done at the first location I went to. I took the CD of my CBCT scan I had paid for at the first location to Dr Tang and I am relieved to say that this office was the complete OPPOSITE of the first one. Here I DID feel WELCOMED, I didn't get attitude from anyone in the office and Dr Tang's aura was so warm and helpful and I definitely didn't feel like they were trying to charge me for something I didn't need. During the root canal procedure I had trouble breathing and I kind of freaked myself out with my claustrophobia but Dr Tang and his staff was so good at getting me through it. It's a 2 hour torture procedure that somehow they helped make it seem like a long lost bad dream. I had a root canal procedure done yesterday by Dr. Tang and I cannot stress enough how pleasant my whole experience was. From the beginning when I called to make an appointment, I knew right then I had made the right decision. First off, his staff deserve a shout out. Everyone was so kind and it is honestly super rare for a receptionist at a medical office to be so kind. I was surprised at how informative she was and answered all of my questions without sounding annoyed (and I am sure I was annoying with so many questions haha). She made me feel welcome and I really appreciated it. I was originally only scheduled for a consult but when I decided I wanted to do a root canal right away, Dr. Tang went out of his way to do it for me, even when it was obvious there were other patients there. He was SO gentle during the procedure that I actually fell asleep quite a few times! That is freaking amazing. He made sure to calm my fears before starting and would ask me if I was okay during the whole procedure. This was the best experience I have ever had at a dental visit, no joke. He is amazing. I went in to get a root canal done on a tooth that was pretty much hopeless. My dentist wasn't sure if it could be saved, but he had confidence that Dr. Tang might be able to do it. AND HE DID. It was a grueling procedure. Not for me, but for Dr. Tang. I actually, somehow, fell asleep on the chair. I think that says a lot about Dr. Tang if his patient can fall asleep during root canal procedure. He was as gentle as he could possibly be. Dr. Tang is a great doctor. He's also very kind and has a very soft speaking voice, which helps you calm down before the drilling begins. I have had two root canals done by Dr. Tang, one this year and one 12 years ago. He is extremely skillful and has a great bedside manner. His staff is second to none. They are very up front about costs and options. I have to drive about 45 minutes to see him, and do so without hesitation. His fees are very reasonable. This last time when I saw him, I had a little cough. He was very patient with me as I needed a couple of breaks. The staff gave me bottled water. It was a great experience. Do not go to this dentist, we had an appointment last friday 3/20, they called and ask us to postpone because they cant reach our insurance company. So we postponed till tomorrow 3/27 3pm. The lady jessica called my wife this afternoon around 3:15 pm and ask us to either come in at 9 am or 12 pm. My wife called me so we agreed on 12pm. My wife called jessica back and said 12 pm is ok, however she said 12pm is not available now, she hang up on my wife after my wife told her that we can only do 12 pm or 3pm. My wife call her back and she doesn't answer her phone call. So I called and she kept telling me it is a rough time now and she need to accommodate people that have toothache. I try to explain to her that my wife been hurting all these days and took pain reliever, isn't she consider urgent too especially they already delayed the appointment for one week? In addition why would she try accommodate someone else without an appointment that are in the same urgent situation as my wife? She then hang me up a few weeks even after I called back. I even ask to speak to the dentist and she said she is the dentist, come on according to the name we know the dentist is a guy not a lady. Maybe she's the spouse however I do want to let her know that she shouldn't talk to her clients like this and hang them up even if you are the spouse of the dentist. read more
