We had a good experience renting a Jeep on Lanai from Jim. He kept good communication even prior to…read moreour arrival, as the island did have some storm damage. Thankfully when it was time for our day trip, all of the sites were fully accessible. We packed in a full day visiting Garden of the Gods, Shipwreck Beach, Lanai Cat Sanctuary, Hulopoe Bay and hiking the Pu'upehe Trail. We started with breakfast at Blue Ginger and later visited the 50s themed diner in the new bowling center for afternoon ice cream. The Jeep was quite new, very clean, with CarPlay, and everything was in good working order. I highly recommend downloading offline maps for navigating Lanai, as there is barely a bar of cell service, even in town. We never actually had to use 4WD for the Jeep, but the height clearance sure did help us on some of the rough dirt roads to some of the sites (places you'd never want to take a regular car). Jim gave us a thorough explanation and tips for visiting the sites when we arrived on the morning shuttle to pickup the Jeep (text the shuttle company ahead of time to reserve your spot at the ferry harbor). There was a laminated map inside the Jeep for us to take with us for the day. Process was smooth. Would rent from Cheap Jeeps again if visiting Lanai. Mahalo!

The stay included a welcome drink for each person at the poolside bar. There is alternative parking available if you are willing to walk a few blocks that is cheaper than the $50 onsite parking.

My family is from Oahu and my sisters flew in from the mainland. Instead of the celebratory atmosphere we anticipated, it was the worst hospitality experience - thanks to the front desk, Emiko/Amiko. We chose Wayfinder bc there was a discount price on parking for booking 5 rooms prepaid in advance. Check in is at 3p, we arrived around 130p. Our rooms were not ready, so we were told we could leave our bags. From the outset, Emiko's demeanor was cold and dismissive, based on her facial expressions and body language; she did not greet us nor acknowledge if any of us had been helped before giving forms to sign. There was just simply no hint of aloha nor welcoming spirit. When my sister asked for directions to the restroom, Emiko pointed nonchalantly and said, Right there. Most importantly, neither Emiko nor any other front desk staff informed us at this time about any limited parking situation. The valet sign already read Valet Full upon our arrival, yet no alternative solutions or explanations were offered. In fact, when my sister asked about parking, she just pointed to the valet and pointed while saying "Talk to the valet later!" We asked about the complimentary welcome drinks and they just pointed to the bar without explaining much. Hours later we came back and Emiko informed us that there was no valet space for our four vehicles and told us we would have to find street parking. When we explained that we had already checked in earlier, Emiko shifted blame onto us, claiming that parking was on a first-come, first-served basis and that if we had arrived early, we should have registered our cars to the valet. Not only did she imply that the situation was our fault, but also heightened our anxiety during an already stressful situation, at what is supposed to be a special and happy weekend for my entire family. * Escalation & Professional Misconduct: Emiko offered zero assistance, showed no empathy, and made no effort to de-escalate the situation. The other front desk associate present stood by and failed to intervene or offer an apology. When I requested a manager, Emiko passively agreed without any effort nor urgency to offer any solution. She then told us to "step aside so I can help other guests", treating us as an inconvenience rather than paying guests. * Intervention by Valet Team: Andrew, the valet officer-in-charge, stepped in to assist. While he was making phone calls to find a solution, Emiko continued to watch our group, make faces, and actively listen to our private conversation. She then walked over to argue with us further, at which point I informed her we were done speaking with her as Andrew was handling the matter. * Final Confrontation: Andrew successfully secured spots for our four vehicles. As I followed him to our cars, I informed Emiko that leadership would be notified of her behavior. Multiple witnesses in my party heard Emiko snap back loudly, Stop talking to me, too. She had the audacity to say that knowing there were no other guests present at this time. This level of hostility from a front-facing hospitality professional is utterly shocking. * Neglect of Luggage:. To rub salt into the wound, we returned from resolving the parking issue only to find our luggage left completely unmonitored in a corner. Hoping to give the staff the last opportunity to redeem themselves, we explicitly asked for assistance. Instead, we were just told there's a cart on the side or call bell assistance. Ultimately, we were forced to load and transport our own pieces of luggage onto the cart ourselves without any assistance as Emiko and the other front desk girl silently watched. * Misc/room: Slider door to lanai/patio was difficult to close. We had to lift door to latch the lock in and tested our other rooms with the same effort. The lighting in the bathroom shower tub was too dim to our liking. Overall, the front desk is the first key impression of the hotel and because of Emiko's unwelcoming behavior it will forever leave a horrible memory on every one of my family members. We will not be coming back to this hotel.
