The home is more than 100 years old, and as warm and cozy as the hosts. I spent a lot of time getting to know them (they are former Mennonites). They welcomed me in graciously and let me explore and ask a million questions. They were so kind and generous. I stayed in a little room behind the house called "The Bunkie". It was fashioned to be sort of like a tree house. It was awesome!! They also served a wonderful breakfast of homemade crepes with fresh fruits, sautéed peaches and this amazing cream Hilda makes! Heaven. And bacon, nice crispy bacon. Rudy and Hilda shared advice on life and marriage and told us stories about themselves. They are in their 70's and have been doing this for many years! They are absolutely delightful!! When I returned to Omis Hause after visiting Niagara Falls, we sat and drank a version of iced wine, a wine created in Canada. It's about $55 to $100 for a small bottle, so they introduced me to Late Harvest, a cheaper version but tastes the same. Ice wine is made from grapes that are frozen and never go below a certain temperature. They are so pricey because pickers have to pluck the grapes late at night when they are the perfect temperature. This wine is SO so good. Very sweet. Note: Make sure you spell out THIRD street when putting it into the GPS. If you get lost, just ask for the lawnmower dr. :) Also, this is only 20 minutes from Niagara Falls in a cozy, quiet part of town. Close to vineyards and businesses but just a gem of a place. Very romantic.

I might add: There is an "outlier" review which was written during the tenure of the former owner(s). It really is not applicable to the situation today -- the present owners have done a magnificent -- and I mean that -- job of remodeling and could not have treated us better!

The Margarita pizza had way too much salted sprinkled on top of the pizza and blatant store sauce with now flavour. I tried the more adventurous Swarma pizza and it didn't work for me - Zatar spice with chickpeas, yogurt and cheese- avoid. We also did some wine tasting here and liked the Chardonnay but everything else was too dry. Nice ambiance and friendly staff but would not come back.

Hubby and I often go solo or with friends to enjoy and check out new dining or wineries. Honsberger has become a fave for us. Their patio is wonderful and a good size. They have a quite large fully covered area to the side of the main building, plus then another patio area with tables that have umbrellas. Their pizza is excellent and done in an outdoor pizza oven. They do have other items (mains, salads, appetizers), that are prepared in their main kitchen. One thing we have noticed is that things are taking a bit longer in the Covid world. This is we assume due to precautions taken with cleaning etc. So -- do be patient and just enjoy. We find that they always have some interesting cocktails with their wine as a basis, and some are available in pitcher size as well as by the glass! Reservations for the patio are available via the TouchBistroDine app. You won't find them on OpenTable. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Parking is available at the back and on the side. You do need to have face masks until you get to your table.
