On I-44....this place has been around a good long while. The place has a yester-year truck stop look....and is very clean. Now, let me say...put this in the class of truck stops for a dining experience....the food is pretty good...and a great value for the money! I have to start with that ham slice. Gosh dang, was it big! They said a pound....but I think it was over 1 1/2 lbs. a good piece of ham, that wasn't all salty. The soup and chili. Hey...these came off the salad bar...and I think they had a 3rd soup to choose from. All pretty good! The biscuit and gravy. (Not) the best I've ever had...but it's a solid performer nonetheless. Stop at this restaurant on the way to Branson. The food was not very good. I had the fish and chips with coleslaw. Coleslaw was the worst I ever tasted. Fish was edible but only two small pieces. For some reason I couldn't even cut it with a fork. Hush puppies were not good. Maybe if I had butter they would be a little better. My sister ordered the chopped steak dinner and they gave her the chicken fried steak dinner instead. She decided to eat it anyway, but left most on her plate. No flavor. Probably the worst food that I've had in around 2 years...The burger was not cooked all the way but yet dry....It was as if it was cooked about a week ago, put in the fridge, and then taken out and reheated...The bacon which wrapped the burger was still raw....it was disgusting.....The potatoes were dry and seemed old...I couldn't even finish my food and left hungry....Place seemed clean and friendly waitress. read more

Recommend you go somewhere else if you can. Waiter was slow and inattentive. We had to go to the servers station to ask for more to drink as he never came back to the table. I had a burger and fries. It was well done and the lettuce, tomato, pickle and purple onion (my favorite) were all fresh. The bun was toasted perfectly. Crinkle Fries were cooked perfect also. The waitress was sweet! I had water and lemon tasted funny, but that is probably local water so im ok with that. On the way out, I grabbed a pudding to take with me. The food was nasty and a hair was found in my husbands omelet. When leaving, I went to the restroom and what I seen was the most disgusting bathrooms I have ever seen. Waited 15 min to get a Menu. Waited 30 more to get food. It had evidently been waiting to since it was all Cold. Waitresses Microwaved it to warm It up. Had Scrambled Eggs on Order. Honestly one of the worst meals I've ever tried to eat! Tried to but, just couldn't do it! Over easy eggs were over hard and burnt. Hash browns ordered crispy were almost raw! Bacon was like leather and the toast was made from bread that had sat out to dry! Please eat anywhere else or plan on disappointment before you sit down. True that it doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside is nothing special, but clean and spacious. Staff was friendly. The real surprise was the food. I had the tenderloin sandwich and the wife had a patty melt ordered medium rare. The food was excellent! Large portions at very reasonable prices. Sides of okra and fries were great too. We came in to eat breakfast and encountered the worst and slowest service ever. Food took at least half an hour, and the waitress was unresponsive, snotty, and slow. She never once came by to ask how our food was, nor did she bother to refill our coffee cups. I personally went to the coffee station three times to ask for refills. Could not bring myself to order so I can only say if I want a frozen country fried steak for $13 I'll just go to Cracker Barrel. If you want to meet an awesome waitress with a kind, positive attitude, this is the place. Her name is Patty and she loves people. We stopped here for the night in our truck. We went in for a late supper and I decided it was scrambled eggs & bacon for me with pancakes. Well, the pancakes were hot, fresh, huge & delicious. The bacon was very flavorful & crisp; just the way I like it! The scrambled eggs were good. The hubby had the chopped steak & it was a fresh patty, not frozen. The green beans were canned but good & the mashed potatoes were fresh. After we ate, hubby told her it was my birthday; which was true, and we asked about desserts. She went to check on desserts & came back with a scratch off ticket that she gave me! We ordered chocolate pie for me & peach cobbler with ice cream for hubby. When she brought them out, she told us they were on her! She even brought a bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup on it for me! They were homemade fresh desserts and they were delicious! I stopped there yesterday to pick up two pies for a family gathering as usual they were amazing. The cherry pie was the perfect mixture of tart and sweet and the coconut cream pie was creamy and not overly sweet. They were actually perfect in every way. I have a 2 just because of the friendly service. If you watch a show or movie based in a small town this would be a good setting, and that's not a bash. However, literally everything was dirty, not just hasn't been wiped down but everything from the door handle to the baby booster seat had a thick grime to it. Well I saw some good reviews about this place on other apps, so I decided to give it a try. For the most part, the prices are pretty reasonable and portion sizes are nice. However, most of the stuff that's a la carte is a little on the pricier side. They have a salad bar, but it's small and overpriced as well, unless you add it to a meal. I ordered the southwestern chicken dinner with a side salad. The salad was decent, besides some of the lettuce being a little soggy. The chicken, however, was awful. They gave me a sharp steak knife and it barely cut through it. It was so thin and overcooked, it was like eating jerky. I told the waitress and at first she said there was nothing she could do since I ate half of it, but I told her I only took two bites, and that was obvious from looking at it. She then was nice enough to take the chicken off the bill, but that's it. No apology, and when I said I was sorry for all the trouble, she just sneered at me and walked away. I love this place: free wi-fi and homecooked yummy food. The caliber of the meal depends on when you go and who is cooking at the time, but overall my meals have been great. The grilled ham and cheese is around $5.00 and delicious, as are the wings and burgers. A fun little place right off the highway, they're open 24 hours a day.
