    Cod Fish, fries, tartar sauce
    Rhonda M.

The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired but the food & service are good. My neighbor & I both ordered the lunch special ($8.99) - I got cod while he got catfish. Two decent sized pieces of cod with 2 slices of bread underneath (if you want to make a sandwich, I guess) plus fries & a soft drink. Everything was hot & tasty. Even the tartar sauce was good. I'd return here but maybe carry out next time.

The food was good. It's always good, fresh and hot. They could clean up in their lot. The audience is not that great that's a portion of coleslaw. That's a 2 ounce serving that's a side that's the only thing I did not like the service is always good.

Oh my goodness, this British gastropub is the real deal! I quickly checked the Yelp reviews, and…read moremade an evening reservation, not checking what the parking situation was like. Well, my bad - their website includes multiple accessible places to park in and around the village. That said, we got it, and decided to belly up to the bar for a better look at the offerings and the place in general. Matt O was our server. I started with a delicious Scottish Ale, and my companion had a glass of wine. Prices are reasonable. My companion ordered and raved about the Shepherd's Pie. I had Bangers & Mash - sausage (3 pieces) with imported horseradish mustard, mashed potatoes, gravy, delicious baked beans. It went perfectly with my pint! It was a warm afternoon so the glass garage doors were opened wide and folks were eating and drinking outside in the beer garden too. The vibe was loud, lively and very positive. Music was old school British Invasion '60s style. Good times seemed to be had by everyone. We finished with a locally produced Chocolate Rum Cake - it was rum forward and smooth, dark chocolatey! Highly recommended.

The atmosphere was charming, the décor was exactly what we were hoping for, and the menu felt genuinely true to British cuisine rather than a themed interpretation. Unfortunately, our visit took place on a colder day, and the large garage-style door connecting to the outdoor seating area was left open. As a result, the entire restaurant felt quite cold throughout our meal. Since we were dining with our infant son, this made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience and was our biggest disappointment of the evening. In fact, it was cold enough that we kept our coats on throughout dinner, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the atmosphere the restaurant had worked so hard to create. We also ordered the fish and chips. The quality of the fish was very good, and it was clearly prepared with care. However, the portion size left something to be desired. The meal included only one medium-sized piece of fish, which felt small for a dinner entrée, especially considering the price point. While the food itself was enjoyable, we were hoping for a more substantial serving. Despite these issues, The Last Queen delivered on atmosphere, authenticity, and food quality. I would be willing to give it another try, particularly during warmer weather, as I believe the temperature and comfort level had a significant impact on our overall experience.

The bartender was handling the table service this evening and did a great job. You would have thought that she had known us for years. She is super friendly! It wasn't crowded tonight when we got there but it did pick up quick. Despite the additional guests that came in she was on top of it. My wife ordered a Diet Coke and I ordered a tall Miller Lite. The draft beer was exceptionally cold which I like. We ordered our food which was 6 buffalo wings for me with a wedge salad and Bleu cheese. My wife ordered the shepherd's pie with came with a small salad. When our food came out the presentation was great as well as piping hot. She had to let her entree cool a bit before eating it. My wings were very meaty and loaded with sauce. (No need to ask for extra) The wedge salad was huge and delicious as well. I got their homemade Bleu cheese with it and definitely don't regret that. Note the wings came with Bleu cheese and celery also. My wife loved her salad and couldn't stop raving over the Shepherds pie. I did get a taste and must agree with her on how good it was. I took half of my salad and a full Bleu cheese home with me for tomorrow and my wife also brought home half of her meal. We ended up ordering the brown butter cake to split for desert which I will say was outstanding. We will surely go back and only wish that we had tried it sooner. Don't sleep on this one or you will be missing out.

But a lot of time has passed and both are excellent now. A good number of people were at the bar around 4 pm on a weekday and the manager was bartending. He was friendly and attentive. Lots of draft beer choices and some great happy hour deals. We couldn't resist a cheeseburger with the works plus fries for $10 so we both got that. Burger was hearty, fresh, and cooked to a perfect medium. Fries were good too. The presentation was appealing, see the photo. They've got a big game room that even includes a shuffleboard table. I saw several signs saying no one under 21 allowed IN THE BAR after 7 pm, which is an excellent practice that I applaud, but I think that unfortunately that probably does not apply to the game room...otherwise why add the words "in the bar." Parking is in the rear (shared lots) and I did not see any handicap spots. Bathroom nice and clean. We enjoyed our visit here and may stop again for a meal and a game of shuffleboard, as long as no one under 21 is around.
