This is not a real seafood restaurant. Doubt any of the fish is seriously fresh. My husband ordered chicken Alfredo and the portion size was for a child. I ordered snow crab three bushels tasted like it had the boiled water all day and it cost $48. Ordered a baked potato with it and the butter and sour cream came in packets. Coleslaw was served in one of those side sauce container (about 2oz). Total bill was right at $100 for a horrible meal. The fried green tomatoes and grits were so delicious. You get more than enough food to share or take home. Oh, did I mention the sweet tea was excellent (everybody don't make good tea). This was lunch portions. We had fried everything. Perch, catfish, chicken tenders, fries and hush puppies. The only none fried thing was the coleslaw. The chicken tenders were the size of a breast of chicken. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The fries were not greasy and neither was any of the fish or chicken. The coleslaw each chopped and sweet. The catfish was delicious and So was the perch. The hush puppies were a good size and the flavor of onions came through. The waitress was ok complained of being over worked. They were very short staffed, but she was pleasant. The prices are very reasonable, considering the inflation we have all seen in food prices. The salt and pepper catfish was dry, and they only give you a tiny little cup of coleslaw and only five hush puppies. Our call-in was supposed to be ready within 20 minutes, but it took 35 minutes. Very slow and uncaring staff. Another lady called in an order and they gave her a regular baked potato instead of a sweet potato, and she had to drive back to get the right food because they messed her order up. Pretty good food! Nothing like fried seafood and they have a great variety of it. We got the fried mushrooms and seafood dip for appetizers. For my entree I had the cod platter with oysters. Just place was a freaking joke. My husband took his father there for dinner because he hasn't seen his dad in years and is here visiting from Florida. My father-in-law ordered scallops, which was not on the menu and the waitress didn't even bother to tell my husband what the price would be she just wrote it down and did the order by the time my husband got the bill he was having a coronary because just the scallops was over $35. When he talk to the manager about this issue they said well either you pay it or the waitress will they didn't care and one thing for sure we will never go there to eat at all. Since it was first visit I usually try a second time to make up my mind and opinion. I have finally written off this restaurant. I keep hoping it will get better since the only other seafood option we have is Red Lobster. I prefer to support the local guys but I cannot anymore. They've cut so much off the menu that options seem pretty limited and they aren't willing to do substitutions to give you what you want. They just offer to add something else at a full menu price. It seems the prices keep increasing while quality does not. The only thing good I can say about the experience is our waitress was kind and my drink was never empty. The service is painfully slow and unfriendly and it is so humid in the restaurant that the salt is wet and won't come out. They don't bring you a bottle of ketchup or cocktail, they use little containers- which is more wasteful than bringing the bottle. I was visiting from Tampa and my family and I felt like seafood and came here. I was blown away by how good everything tasted! I tried other people's food and of course my own and everything was like the best I've ever had! From the shrimp, to the scallops, to the crab cake, and even the hush puppies were the best ever! They serve hushpuppies, which are fried garbage filler, with no substitutions allowed! Also, I saw a manager oust a customer, telling her never to return, for complaining about a boy who was standing on a table-bench, talking loudly and walking around. I want to applaud that customer for speaking up when the staff did nothing about it. The customer moved her food and drink to another, far-away table, only to get insulted by a manager for saying something. This is totally backwards management! The family with the bratty boy should have had to move -- right out the door.
