Ordered a tequila and pineapple over ice with lime and it was not shaken so I will ding god that. Ordered the seasame ahi with seaweed salad. The fish was amazing, cooked perfectly with multiple sauces. Seaweed salad and a fried rice. We used to own a restaurant and had a consultant who said "whatever you have on the menu should be memorable" well the fried rice was weird so that was not memorable. We decided to eat here for our anniversary dinner! Wanted to try it because of the reputation and the longevity. Neat restaurant with a retro design. Server, Bryson, was very personable and helpful (e.g. let us know that the mashed potatoes were instant and not good). Chicken Picatta with asparagus was good. Prime Rib was good, not great, and not worth $48. We have worked in the restaurant industry for 25 years and are therefore pretty observant and experienced in what makes for a positive dining experience. P&B's is definitely missing the mark in a few areas. In our experience, the signs we saw point to older owners who are tired of the business and/or not as involved in daily operations as they were/should be. They are also "cost conscious" and value profit over diner's experience. We observed these things during our dining experience: 1) NO ice in the water glasses. Cost cutting? Or the ice maker needs repair? 2) No ice wouldn't have been too bad if the ac was set below 76. High humidity and higher temp made for a less than comfortable dining experience. 3) Ribeye steak was sliced incorrectly with one end about 1/4" thick and the other about 7/16 thick. This resulted in a well done end and a medium end, instead of a consistent medium rare steak. Flavor/Seasoning was minimal. Portion was small too, probably 8-9 ounce, with lots of fat cap. Grilled onions and mushrooms were overcooked and had little flavor. This was a $20 steak at best: certainly not a $40 steak. 4) Baked potatoes and veg came out warm,not hot, and were cold before we finished eating. This place is "resting on its laurels" and the owners are cutting costs and trying to make as much they can before they are forced to close or find someone who is willing to buy them out. While I am sure it had its day, its day is gone and it is in need of new menu and new management. 3 people. 2 beers. 3 meals. $145 plus tip. We have had far superior meals at the nearby Long Horn Steakhouse for about 1/2 the price. We would not recommend this location, unless it is sentimental to you. There are better restaurants in the area who actually care about their customers and the dining experience. read more

Wow, was really disappointed with our experience at Pixie & Bills last week. I love their sister restaurant Calhoun Corners and I'd been to P&B many times over the years. The service was probably the worst I've had in years anywhere I've traveled. Took 20 minutes to get water, 30 minutes to get a cocktail. We both ordered filet, my adaptation was I had the Grecian. The steak was well cooked and tasted great. The mash potatoes were worse than any hole in the wall diner. They were inedible. I heard that the restaurant is shutting down soon and I can see why. read more

Evidently, this restaurant is a local favorite. It's known for its fine dining and, especially, it's prime rib. The hubby and I were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary so we decided to treat ourselves. He has been here a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is very elegant. The decor is traditional, but with an English country manor meets Colonial design. The service was great. We both had a cup of the lobster bisque to start. The hubby had a salad, which really was enough that we both could've shared it. Then we both had the Special of the Night. It was French Onion Prime Rib with mashed potatoes. I usually prefer a ribeye steak, but I wanted to give the special a try. I understand now why people come back again and again for their prime rib. It was delicious! The server also suggested a wine to pair with our meal. From the time we walked into the door until we walked out we really enjoyed our evening. This place .. oh my .. I came here with my two buddies and my one buddies mom and it was a delight. We celebrated one of my buddies birthdays. Such a great place to celebrate a birthday for many reason - great food and great dessert and great people and a great owner and the lighting is also delightful. My buddies mom doesn't have a great phone for pictures so she usually takes pictures on her iPad (no offense to you, you looked nice tonight). The food was incredible. I got their Shrimp Scampi, on of my most favorite dishes. It was rather heavy, but was very tasty. The service was good, but we had several different waiters/waitresses during our visit. The overall experience was delightful. There were little people on the establishment, though there was a group of people at the bar talking loudly and cursing. All in all, it was rather expensive, but worth it. Good food. High end experience. This is a place to come hangout for a while and eat drink and talk to friends. They have very soft bread and butter on the house to start. It's a quiet place I wouldn't recommend taking kids, it's mostly one large room so noise will carry to others. I took my kids the first time luckily they weren't too bad but I won't take them back until they're older. We went this last time for a date night or meal was a little over $100 before tip. We got an appetizer of scallops, it came with 3 scallops for $15. It was good and filling had a good flavor. I'd like to try the mushrooms and zucchini app next time. I got a special with prime rib and crab meat and mashed potatoes. The prime rib was amazing, my husband said best he's ever had. I enjoyed it and couldn't finish it he had to for me of course. We both got salads that were very fresh, were small and basic. The house made dressings were good. My husband got the veel and it was good, the rice was spicy, he liked it but was much too spicy for me I'm glad I went with the potatoes. Service was slow but friendly and it was a busy Saturday night. You can't make online reservations but from what we gathered you could call ahead that day and make them but it says online no reservations but they asked if we had one and they said you can't online so next time we'll call. Oh and I have to add the gentlemen that I assume to be the manager is one of the friendliest people I've ever met, so nice to everyone and has the fun up and best responses I loved hearing him talk to everyone at other tables aswell very witty and a people person. When my wife and I got there were treated like royalty by our hostess and host. We were thirty minutes early, but they took us right to our table. Food was outstanding. Our waiter (Noah). My husband and I finally decided to give Pixie and Bill's a try. We know it is a restaurant that has been a staple of the Clemson/Seneca community for decades so we wanted to see what is the draw to this restaurant. We decided to try it on a Friday night. When I called to make a reservation for Friday at 6:30, the host said they only had a 6:00 or a 7:00 reservation so I took the 7:00. When we entered the parking lot I was surprised at how empty it was as was the restaurant when we entered. Once seated we had a nice server however she was not very knowledgeable about the menu and never shared the specials with us. My husband ordered the blackened ribeye and scallops with a spinach salad and I got the filet and mixed grill with mashed potatoes. The best part of our meal was the fresh bread that was brought out at the beginning. It was hot and melted in your mouth. I had high hopes for the food. What a disappointment! My husband's steak was tough and flavorless and my filet was small cut up pieces and served with over salted shrimp and a crab/seafood cake that tasted like it was frozen and heated up in a microwave. My mashed potatoes tasted like they were the powdered ones from a box. We passed on dessert since we didn't have high expectations for it. I really wanted to like this place. I love supporting local restaurants but Pixie and Bill's needs some work. The decor is outdated and the restaurant looks like it needs a good cleaning. Unfortunately we won't be back. read more

Ah Pixie and Bills, I love ya. This place is a great stop for any celebration or just a nice splurge while in Clemson. Their specials always win it for me but the menu is vast with both land and sea options and a variety of price points. We got the salmon and steak special last amongst others and both were incredible. I will say, since I was a student at Clemson they have stopped having complementary salads with each entree while was a bummer. I had to order a side salad because the red pepper ranch is my favorite dressing in existence. I also wish they still carried their honey butter but maybe it's better they don't because it absence prevented me from consuming the whole roll of complimentary bread. Changes aside, they consistently provide great service, great food and an altogether wonderful dining experience. Ruth Criss and similar places which I have frequented on business don't hold a candle to it. Only Berns Steakhouse in Tampa rivals this nice steak at Pixie and Bills. Other menu items also very good. Went to Pixy and Bills in Clemson for dinner last night, what a disappointment!! I ordered their pork chop which I had heard was fantastic and a side salad. First the salad while it was very fresh but their (homemade ranch dressing) wasn't a normal ranch dressing it was roasted red pepper ranch and was very weird!! You'd think the waiter would have mentioned that! The salad was smallest side salad I've ever seen it was served on 5" plate! They charged $3.99 for this!! The pork chop had a good flavor but was badly overcooked!! I could only eat a few bites of the sawdust. I complained 3 times to the waiter and all he did was apologize!! He never offered to replace it or get me something else!! After the bill came I complained to the manager and he did nothing also!! I'm afraid this is the last time we'll be going there if this the level of service a food quality we can expect!! read more

Used to be a great dining establishment. Our latest experience wasn't a good one. Server was too busy for us. My wife, who never complains, had to send her filet back because it was burned. When it came back out it was bloody rare and she ordered medium. Waitress didn't know until everyone else was done eating because she was nowhere to be seen. Wife left hungry. They didn't charge us for the filet BUT when I got the bill, they added a salad that we didn't order! I couldn't find the waitress so I just paid and left. I ordered the prime rib, the cut was tough, and wasn't worth the cost. Unfortunate because we used to like eating here. It was pretty clear that they don't care much about their customers. I'm impressed. The filet was as good as any steak I have had, some for prices far in excess of this. Service was absolutely top tier. Parking was a bit tight, but the manager said they had an unusually large group for some event and most people appeared to have driven alone, adding quite a few cars to the usual crowd. The place is rustic with lots of wood, quiet with plenty of nooks to make your meal more private. I was very pleased with the decor. The manager was up front greeting people and could not have made us feel an more welcome. I honestly felt like an old friend being given special greetings... We were seated and a very polite waitress took over our experience. She brought plenty of very delicious warm bread for the two hungry guys... Salads were excellent, nothing too exciting, but no disappointments either. We split a nice bottle of Cab, with one of the party preferring not to have much more than a taste. I was pleased that your waitress didn't drop back by and fill that one glass. We had 3 Filet orders, with some special instructions on how to cook some asparagus on one order. I went with med rare and a loaded potato. We had one seafood plate, the mixed grill which has Filet medallions basted in soy-ginger Dijon sauce, sautéed seafood cake, blackened shrimp served with rice and grilled zucchini. I would have to recommend that meal which really looked good to me. One mixup - A filet ended up as a Rib Eye. My wife's steak. She told them that she preferred the Filet and they offered to leave the Rib Eye with us. We took them up on the offer and split that steak partially among the table... of at least between the two hungry husbands. Her correct steak was soon brought to the table and all was good, especially for our two dogs who now have some really decent Rib Eye to supplement their normal fair... They pulled through just fine - mistakes happen, and when I leave feeling like that mistake went my way, meaning I got extra steak out of the deal, I'm happy. I'm impressed with the food, the atmosphere, the service, and the price which was around $40 per head before tip. The one thing that I do not understand is why the Yelp rating is not at least above 4, I don't see the current 3.5 as being reflective of the quality of this place, especially in light of their reasonable prices. My colleague and I wanted a nice place to grab drinks and apps away from the college scene downtown. To our delight, someone recommended Pixie & Bill's. Julie welcomed us at her bar with the definition of southern hospitality. She was incredibly kind and easy to talk to. She even offered to go above and beyond for me in a spill situation. And she whipped up an excellent dirty martini! Food wise, the pimento bread basket was everything one could ever want out of a bread basket. A variety of breads to choose from- pumpernickel, sourdough, garlic crackers, spicy cheese crackers, and veggies. All to dip in fluffy homemade pimento cheese. We also shared the spicy shrimp dish which wasn't spicy but had great flavor with garlic butter, Parmesan cream, and prosciutto. It was served with a huge loaf of bread for dipping. How could I forget that we also started with oyster shooters. This was my first time trying oysters and I had a lot of encouragement from the entire bar.. talk about pressure. It ended up tasting like a Bloody Mary and I was glad I tried it. We didn't want a big meal so we each decided on a cup of lobster bisque. After being served, Julie told us that the chef was making another batch because the first was too thin and we were welcome to have both cups or wait for the new one. This is a testament to how fresh their food is and how much they care about the quality! Both were tasty but the second batch was definitely creamier.. and who would say no to double the lobster?? For dessert, we had the snickers ice cream pie which was the perfect way to close out the meal.
