These guys are pros -- 100% pros. I'm a bit of an electronics geek -- an early adopter in every sense of the word. Usually I'm the guy who ends up fixing other people's AV system or computer when it won't break. This is all to say I don't impress easily when it comes to electronics. So please take that into consideration when I say again....these guys are pros! When we bought our house, we had a big challenge about where the TV would go...and how to handle the wiring for my speakers...without making the family room and our wonderful stone fireplace look like a rustic radioshack. I contacted these guys and Brent, the owner met me at my house before I even moved in to check things out. After about 20 minutes of talking to me about what components I have, how I want to use the system and what concerns I have, Brent came up with a solution which covered everything. By everything, I mean making use of beautiful built-in wood cabinets which were NOT made for modern electronics, a recessed swivel arm mount for the 54inch plasma TV to allow viewing from the family room or the kitchen and new in-ceiling speakers. On the day of the install, the guys from Hooked Up installs showed up and continued to conduct themselves as professionals. There was no random guy who reeked of Red Bull and the kind of sweat you only get from an all night gamer binge showing up and saying "Dude, I'm like, here to hook up your TV." Instead, a professionally dressed project manager showed up with his team (similarly professionally dressed), introduced himself and walked us through what would be happening, step-by-step. The install team treated my house with the utmost care -- they all removed their shoes or put on shoe covers when walking in my house (without being asked to do so) and covered every inch of their work area with drop cloths. They asked my permission to move my furniture rather than just doing it without asking. All-in-all, they treated my wife and I with respect and treated our furniture and electronics with the same respect. Oh...and I'm completely satisfied with the quality of work they did. Everything works exactly like it was supposed to. I've since had them install a new remote control system which works perfectly. Like any other company dealing in electronics gear, sometimes software updates or random malfunctions will cause things to suddenly stop working as intended. This was the case with the remote control. Brent's team helped to trouble shoot it over the phone and then sent someone out (no charge!) to fix it. We hired HUI after looking at several companies to install a whole home AV system. Brent and his crew were prompt, professional, extremely knowledgable, and reasonably priced. The install was done quickly, with minimal mess. As with any install of this kind, some tweaking and programming has to be done after the initial install. This is due to both the complexity of the systems, but also to customize it to your liking. In my mind, the real test of a home AV installation company is not so much the initial install, but the follow up. This is where Brent and company have excelled. They have been very responsive (usually within a day) to any questions or issues that we've had, and they've come out whenever we've requested. They also kept working on any issues we've had until we were satisfied. We really couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of their work and their commitment to customer satisfaction.
