Joe was very kind and helpful, despite resale not quite being their business. He located the precise set I wanted (from another dealer in Florida!) and hand-delivered it to our apartment for a great price. It's still one of my favorite service experiences in the city. Over the years I've recommended Royal to several friends, and if I ever needed repair work I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again. A big box store just can't compete with their wealth of experience and clear passion for the field.

A lot of stuff here are brands I've never heard of, but you can find brand name stuff here (Apple, Belkin, Targus, JBL, etc). We came here to buy an external hard drive after the current one decided to die. When we asked an employee (I think his name was Hector), about whether or not the particular hard drive we were looking at would be right for its intended use, he was able to answer our questions. When we checked out, the cashier asked us a bunch of questions about what we were buying and if we had any questions. We asked her about protecting devices from static electricity, and she didn't have a clue about anything beyond scanning purchases and pushing the extended warranty plans. If you have questions about items here, just ask one of the employees...not a cashier. Overall, this is a nice clean store. Don't expect to find everything you're looking for. But if you need basic accessories and gaming stuff, this place has all of that.

After getting it back, a Trojan was detected and I ultimately had to wipe the system and reinstall Windows again. Second visit: I paid to have an AIO liquid cooler installed. When I got the PC home, it wouldn't boot. The RAM had not been seated correctly. Easy fix, but still -- twice I handed them a working piece of hardware for service, and twice it came back with a new issue. Strike three was my laptop. I brought in a replacement battery and was initially told the job would take about 20 minutes. Two hours later, I was told the battery was incorrect and they would reassemble the laptop. I returned the next day and neither the original battery nor the replacement battery I brought in could be located. The replacement battery box was empty, and the employee helping me couldn't explain what work had actually been done. Then we tried to boot the laptop and received an error saying the hard drive wasn't connected. I asked them to investigate and call me the next day. No call came. When I contacted support myself, I was told the incorrect replacement battery had actually been installed in the laptop but couldn't be connected because it was the wrong battery. That was it for me. Mistakes happen. What makes this unacceptable is the repeated combination of workmanship problems, poor documentation, inconsistent explanations, and lack of follow-through. I have now paid Micro Center for service three separate times, and all three times my equipment was returned with an issue that wasn't there when I brought it in. **Document the work. Communicate with the customer. Verify the repair before handing the equipment back. And when something goes wrong, take accountability.** I will not use this location for repairs again.

"Hi, You'll have to drop it off so we can inspect it further. We charge $20 upfront for the inspection and will need it for a few days. Thanks." I brought my speaker to his shop and paid $20 to inspect. Still not knowing if he could fix or not. Inspection took two weeks and two days, Then I get a call from Anthony and he said he could fix the problem also my other control knob was also on the verge of breaking and he would fix that too. The estimate is between $180 and $200. I gave him the go ahead and my speaker was repaired within two days. I asked him if I could pick up the speaker within four days Saturday because I lived way on the south side and he said that was fine. When I picked up the speaker we tested it there to make sure it was working properly. Not only was it working properly and both control knobs were fixed but he added the knobs that were missing that caused the problem in the first place. My total charge including inspection $200. I 100% recommend Athonys Electronics, Friendly service, reasonable price, honest. I did not mind the inspection wait time it just shows that he does not rush jobs and wants to do it right. the picture on the right shows what the speaker knob looked like before I took it in. I was referred to Adam at Decibel, who is an owner. He spent 3 hours with me on the day I went there to listen to the speakers, he recommended a specific speaker model suitable for my living space and listening tastes (all classical, mainly chamber), I had brought a couple of my cd's with me, he recommended a specific cd player which was so good it enhanced magnificently the very old cd recordings I deliberately brought with me (because I love them). Then, because I have a large LP collection, he recommended a specific turntable and stylus. He hooked up the cd player and then the turntable and I was blown away by their incredible, natural, precise, warm sounds. On top of that, he told me that various components were on sale, which was a nice plus. I had in my then home some old high-end equipment (B&W 801's, a custom made tube amp, custom made turntable, etc) which I asked if they would be interested in as a trade-in. He offered to look at them, I sent photos, he said he would move the equipment to his shop and then determine the value. The trade-in value he gave me, after his truly exhaustive research, was more than I expected, and even with respect to one piece for which he couldn't determine the value, he offered to sell it for me on consignment (I declined and simply wanted to donate it to him, but he insisted on giving me something for it). On top of that, they delivered and set up the system in my new abode, spent many hours doing that, training me, testing it, and then returned a week later to switch the speaker stands he recommended (which weren't in stock originally) which also were hugely discounted and he thought better than the loaner stands he gave me, retested all the equipment, and has left me with a concert hall quality sound system that is breathtakingly accurate and spacious, at an incredibly fair price. They are a pleasure to work with, no hard sell, no special fake listening room (just a normal, open space with stuff and people in it), very responsive and very, very honest. I cannot more highly recommend them, whatever your level of interest might be. (Incidentally, they have a large variety of equipment). (This review is entirely voluntary. Auggie started by first walking through the home with me and demonstrating his encyclopedic knowledge of all things pertaining to connectivity, audio & visual hardware, as well as monitoring & security. He not only used his knowledge to enumerate the options available to us but really demonstrated a commitment/empathy to our needs which were prioritizing safety, connectivity and then conservatively scaling into A/V options (having just dropped a lot of cash on a down payment). There was no upselling. He built us a min-viable plan while providing cost-tiered options thereafter (for us to both get a sense of trade-offs but also for us to have a sense of what to consider long-term). It felt selfish on my part in that I did not have to do deep research on these different subjects but rather I could pose my "stupid" and numerous questions to Auggie to be met with a quick reply that capably addressed my knowledge gap. He made it easy for us to decide to work with him. Once we aligned on scope, execution came next. On this side of things, there existed the same, relentless commitment to customer satisfaction. Despite having many concurrent projects at the time (also a good signal), they worked hard to set us up quickly after moving into our new home. The installation staff was prompt, diligent and professional in setting up our home but also very affable and patient with respect to walking me through how to understand and utilize our system. We are very happy in our new home thanks to Auggie and his team. There's more work to be done in the future and, based on our full experience, we will certainly call upon Auggie when that time comes

Their price was higher than the others, but their solution to in-wall wiring was more comprehensive and flexible than any of the others. On the day, they showed up on time. They asked me a bunch of questions about where exactly I wanted the TV on the wall. They were very careful and meticulous, even about things like how to lift and move the TV, and they had no trouble with some power wiring complications related to how my TV interacts with my home automation system.
