We wanted to find a local place that served great chicken, this was the spot. The service was super friendly, fast and welcoming. The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy outside, juicy and moist inside. The fries and seasons were amazing too. We'll definitely go back when we're back in town. read more

Yooooo this is 10/10 if you are hankering for some well fried catfish - service was friendly, fast & efficient. The fries are just generic crinkle & the fish comes on two pieces of white bread to soak up some of that good ole southern grease, but again- drive thru food without having your house smell like grease is a win win for me read more

Although the exterior might look a little rough, the service and the food was amazing. Went through the drive through and sent my order and the person was so polite. Don't let stereotypes ruin your experience because they knew how to make sure the customer was satisfied. I ordered 20 wings with extra seasoning fried hard and a twin order of catfish. Made to perfection. So here is what to expect - when ordering the chicken wings, 1 piece is a set (meaning winget and drummet together - basically when you order 20, you get 40) catfish piece was like 8-10 inches each and tender and flaky. Ask for extra tarter sauce, it's in the packet but it's good. The hot sauce definitely reminds me from a northern perspective from which they place in individual condiment cups #memories Place definitely reminded me of Hip Hop Fish & Chicken in Maryland and some Bodega chicken you get from the corner store in New York. We go here for the chicken livers! They are delicious and the serving is generous. Mom and I share a large dinner and it's plenty. On the last trip she wanted macaroni and cheese but was surprised to get fried pouches of Mac & cheese. I pointed out it is in the appetizer section. We had fries and cold slaw and it all tasted good. You can drive through or call your order in and pick it up at the counter, no dining in. Everyone there is very nice. As for ambiance, that's hard to say from the drive thru. It's located in an old Church's Fried Chicken building so it looks a bit shabby but looks are deceiving, it's a solid place to grab a meal. read more

It wasn't the best catfish that I've had but it was still good. The customer service was great, the young lady that was taking orders was very polite and patient. I will eat here again the next time that I'm in town. The inside is for call in orders only, otherwise you have to use the drive thru. read more

Unsuspectingly excellent! As others have said, I'd suspect the look of this place and the surrounding area might keep most away, which will prove useful to me in the future. It's hard to believe I can get fried snapper, restaurant quality, in a fast food drive thru. It was fried to perfection as well as the wings and the accompanying fries, which made for an incredible snack for my seven-hour drive home from Augusta. I'll be back next week! read more

Stopped by this place on accident and now it's going to be added to the regular rotation. The family loves this place. The service was better than some "fine dining" restaurants I've been too. You could hear the gentleman's smile through the drive through. He was patient, as it was our first time there. Food was fresh, seasoned, and delicious. This place was amazing. If I can be transparent, I thought the place was closed down and drove right past it. Then I saw folks lining up for the drive thru. I asked my mom whether we should take a chance and we decided to try the reviews we had read. We ordered chicken gizzard and jumbo shrimp. Our food was very good and flavorful. I had not even noticed this restaurant until I was hungry and new Washington had plenty of fast food places close by. I did drive through and first of all when I got my fried fish dinner my truck filled with a wonderful aroma. Faced with either gnawing off my armor ripping open the bag. I pulled over thinking it was going to be hard to drive with one arm so I chose the latter and ripped open the bag and dove in to some of the best fish I have had in a very long time. read more

The people who work here make this place so awesome!!! They could not be more friendly and helpful. The food is super fresh and the portion sizes are enormous. We will be going back regularly when we crave fried oysters and buffalo wings. I would say that if they were to make their own sauces it would set them over the edge even further. read more

This place is fantastic! The service is always friendly and the food is cooked to order, so it's always hot and fresh. I don't mind waiting a few extra minutes, because I know it will be hot when I get it. I've never had anything bad from here. Hands down the best fish and chicken in town !!! They make everything fresh from scratch for each order. The staff is extremely friendly! Most importantly the prices are great......for now at least. I am almost 60 and usually don't go out of my way to write a review. Much less download an app to do it but I was so impressed with the food and service I felt compelled. The gentleman at the counter was very professional and seemed like just a really nice guy. The food was excellent and lots of it. When I walked in he was forcing closed a container that had a piece of chicken as large as my hand. I asked what that was and he said "a" chicken finger. I only could eat one. I tried the red snapper and it was delicious as well. I love supporting new businesses and this one will be easy to support. read more

They don't deserve the privilege to serve food to the public; I could see them going out of business really soon with the way the economy is going, uber high prices, nearly nonexistent portions and terrible employees

There is plenty of parking. I'm not sure why it's called "at the river" bc I didn't see a river. There is inside and an outside enclosed area for seating when you enter from the parking lot. It is decorated like a casual bar and grill. My server was in training but friendly and worked alongside his trainer head server. For beverages, I ordered the oyster shooter and that Bloody Mary did not disappoint. I also had a Black Raspberry Margarita. This seems to be a thing in Augusta for Margaritas as well as this was the 2nd restaurant I went to and had this. The other place was better though. But let's talk about the food! The catfish was super tasty. They gave me fries although I didn't order them, and of course I still ate them. I had a side of baked potato salad. I should've asked why they're baked, but that was just okay. I had the TASTE OF BEAMIES- chicken & shrimp gumbo, black eyed pea jambalaya, shrimp and grits, my fav's in order were the chicken and shrimp gumbo, the shrimp and grits, then the black eyed pea jambalaya. I also ordered the 1/2 dozen Rockefeller oysters and they were amazing. The hush puppies that came with them were just okay. Overall, I enjoyed this meal.

Food was ok. I requested Scallops on a bed of rice. Well, the Scallops were slightly overcooked,…read morethe bed of rice was about 2 grains thick. Very skimpy. I also asked for Horseradish and got a small cup, perhaps a teaspoon. Skimpy. In fact, I felt for what I paid was nowhere near worth the price. My wife even commented the portions were so small. The food reminded me of pub food. Funny. I told my wife I dont care for pub food,. Well..... Now the Key Lime Pie was great, and the waitress was very accommodating and nice. Great service. We sat in the enlosed porch, thinking it would be quieter. Nope. In fact, I had visions I was at a convention. My wife and I had much difficulty conversing. I guess we chose the wrong place to sit. And no, there weren't many patrons. It was an experience. Expected more. Doubt I would try again.
