Do not go there! They are only concerned about speed and cost!…read more They did an oil change on a friend's car. Here are the results: . Left the intake hose clamp loose. . Ran terrible after work . Did not drain all of the old oil. . Added 5.1 quarts which overfilled by over two quarts. . Only drained overfill leaving some old oil. . When asked why they don't drain from the oil plug, they said that the trans and oil pan plugs are too close and their technicians might not open the right one. . When asked why their machine didn't suck out all the old oil, they said the 2024 Subaru Forester has a compartmented oil pan. . They obviously didn't check the oil level. Now almost anyone who has a y motor sense know that overfilling a motor by even one quart can cause serious damage to an engine. This was overfilled by al.ost three quarts! Even though I am a certified mechanic (M169169), the only reason I found this was because it ran so bad. Probably what was happening was because of the pressure increase, oil was blowing by the piston rings and fouling the combustion chamber. DO NOT GO TO TAKE 5 OIL CHANGE.

I went to TAKE 5 OIL CHANGE #0241 in Austin, TX for a simple oil change. I pulled in and they…read moreimmediately pulled me into a bay. Eighteen minutes later, they began their work. Nothing out of the order was reported. Nothing was looked at under the hood...this car (2022 Honda CRV) is only used part time and has less than 9,000 miles on it. I asked to check the air pressure in my front passenger tire, which the "tech" did begrudgingly, adding a little. I paid and left. The invoice says that the air filter was clean (it should be, but was never looked at), Power steering noted as "safe level", though they never looked at it, coolant and transmission fluid levels were at safe levels, though they were never looked at, Washer Fluid was marked as "filled", though I know it was not checked. Wiper blades were OK, but they were not looked at, Oil Level noted as "safe level", God, I hope so! The windshield was marked as "Cleaned", but no one touched it. Later that day, I received a low tire pressure alarm. I took it to a nearby Firestone Shop and they said all 4 tires were low (and charged me nothing although I wanted to pay something). I won't be back to Take (4)5.

My daughter called from Oxford to tell us that her oil light came on - during Miami finals week,…read moreno less. We live in CA and she is coming home on Friday. I called and left an after hours message for Candace last night asking if she could fit my daughter's car in for an oil change today. She called my daughter at 8am this morning to schedule the appointment. The oil has already been changed as of early afternoon. Candace, thanks for squeezing my daughter's car in for service. She said she overheard you in the waiting room explaining to a caller that you're booked until Monday. You are a lifesaver!!

She showed me a stack of receipts…read morefor probably $7000 and all the receipts were from this particular shop, but it started to make a noise I looked. There was no oil in it. I said maybe they forgot to tighten something up. She called and they put it right on the lift , told me the car was excellent and down the road I should fix this particular thing but tightened it up and it's OK. Well it wasn't within 24 hours. All the oil had leaked out of it again so they basically just told us what we wanted to hear to get us out of there after she spent probably 7 or $8000 with them, just be careful when you go here and I can only speak for this one time , I'm not from the area but I seen the look on their face when we all showed up and asked to put it on the lift , he was very uncomfortable. i'm in the car business so I know exactly what goes on there and charge 200 a hour.. but guys like that make it tough for honest guys they tell people what the need to fix there car maybe it was just an off day but this was my 1 experience there

I am always a bit trepidatious when going to a new oil place because I have definitely had my share…read moreof places that try to sell me things I don't need. Pfefferle, was not one of those places. I pulled into the driveway to get my car serviced and it was packed. I almost left because I figured it may be awhile, but the tech assured me that it was only going to take about 30 minutes or so and with, all my traveling, I can tell you my car Is probably running on mud right now instead of oil... yikes. So, 30 minutes wasn't too horrible. I went inside and most of the chairs were full in the waiting room, but they had a tv playing horrible soap operas and a full pot of fresh coffee. I stood around for a few, and realized they had a stack of magazines that had some unusual titles. I'm an artsy type and they had, sitting on the top of the stack, "International Artist." I was pleased and parked my butt in an empty seat. The guy at the front desk was very nice and took my info. My car has lots o miles, so I told him I wanted the oil that would make it purr like a kitten again instead of an asmatic old lion. I presented a coupon to him and he nodded in acknowledgement. I sat back down and watched him greet several of the regulars by name, and that's always a good thing in my book. After awhile they came in and showed me how dirty my air filter was and I cringed... I knew this visit would entail more than an oil change because it had been a pretty long time since I'd brought my car in for service. After about 10 more minutes he came in and said my serpentine belt was bad, and I had a feeling it was so that was no shocker. Well, my 30 minutes turned to about an hour. Not a huge deal, but I think they had to order my serpentine belt from another shop. What I am bummed about is that they didn't tell me, and my boyfriend overheard them ordering it from another shop. Had they set that expectation of my wait, I would have been fine. When I was all done and ready to pay, the guy told me that my coupon wasn't valid because I used a more expensive oil. I probably looked like someone kicked my puppy because the original guy never told me that. For a high mileage oil change, fluid top off, air filter, and serpentine belt I was looking at $160. After he realized the first guy had been told about my coupon, he gave me a $10 discount. I was happy again! He also gave me a loyalty card that gives me my 6th oil change free. Bonus!! The thing I liked the most about them, is that they could tell my car had some issues while starting, and they offered some ideas and mentioned that the auto shop up the street was theirs too. I can say that I will definitely be back here, and I may even try out their auto shop. The service was great, and my car's asthma is silenced for a bit. :P
