Hooters is definitely doing something right and if they retain exceptional employees they have at the Rivergate location in Nashville, Tennessee the brand can turn it around. I'm staying at the Comfort Suites across the street and it made it very convenient to stop in for lunch. I was greatly upon entering the establishment by one of the warmest and pleasant welcomes I've ever received. It was right at opening so a couple of the staff were cleaning to front doors. The beautiful blonde that welcomed me to Hooters was named Shirley. I hit the lottery today cus everything specially the service was up to brand level. She's a great conversationalist but without a doubt proficient at her job. She made my experience memorable and as if I was one of her regulars. She transferred from the former Murfreesboro, Tennessee location. Didn't surprise me she had been with the company a couple of years. I was surprised she's not a calendar or pageant girl. The cake was great Boneless wings came out ok hot but a little dry which is part of the reason I ended up choking fortunately after a few moments I was able to force it back up, while my server was so focused on the cute guy customer she sat st his table with her back to everyone else in the restaurant. She was completely oblivious to anything else happening in her section. Which after this incident really made me feel unsafe there. It's nobody's fault that I choked. However, the lack of awareness of a potential medical emergency taking place is absolutely terrifying. Yes, I'm fine and no, there's nothing anybody really could've done except possibly the Heimlich maneuver to assist, it was a very scary moment, but all I was looking for is to pay somebody to feed me and treat me decent. In this moment of need, I felt very alone, very isolated and neglected. I have not been to this Hooters and over a year, but previously every time that I had gone there, the girls paid attention to me. They treated me well. The food was always amazing except the desserts. The dessert desserts were like little shot glass BS. And that they've improved now you get a full slice of a cake. It's pretty big. It's nice. If I can't be treated halfway decent when I'm paying to be treated good, it's probably not a place. I need to go back to. I will admit that due to the situation I did not tip my usual 50%+ I honestly tipped the least I have tipped in over 20 years. I gave her 10%. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I expect my Server to be aware of somebody sitting by themselves choking when she's within 6 feet right out if reach but sitting at the table right next to me with her back turned to me ignoring her entire section. Yes this is one moment and time and it only lasted for about three minutes, but that's long enough to feel like an eternity. I'm not gonna mention her name she's young and she's learning. She will become more aware and she will get better, but I did not feel safe but I did not feel safe tonight. So I asked for my check and got out of there as quickly as I could. If they're not going to take care of them, protect their own customers why would you want to go there? What happened to the girls that actually paid attention to their customers this Hooters used to be staffed with wonderful servers that took good care of their customers. They stayed alert. They stayed aware. In fact Amanda was fully aware of everybody that walked through the door knew most of their names and did an amazing job. And this is me nitpicking, and every single fork they brought to the table was bent like the prongs of the fork were bent all out of shape, which made it feel weird using the fork and eating, even though I was only eating the cake and then when they brought my boneless wings, they brought another fork. It was all bent out of shape again. I know I'm not Hangry because my belly is full. I'm bothered because I didn't feel safe while being there. Because nobody was paying attention. Or completely ignored the fact that I was choking on food for several minutes. I hope the servers learned from this and become far more aware. I don't want this review to hurt their paycheck or the business, but it is important as a teaching tool that if you are a server, you're responsible for everybody in your section. If you're the manager, you're responsible for everybody in the building and neglecting those responsibilities make people feel unsafe and will directly affect the revenue of the company. Just like none of you want to be in a place where you feel unsafe your customers don't want to enter your care. Have any kind of issue or concern and feel rejected and neglected especially if it's a potentially life-threatening situation like choking or potentially a heart attack, both of these have very, very limited response times and no longer. My server Jess had amazing hair and the chicken wings were great too. Sitting at a high top table near the entrance made for an enjoyable meal. Jess was gracious enough to serve me one of her favorite drinks the Long Island ice tea, which I enjoyed three of. We had Summer taking care of us and she was super sweet. My boneless chicken was super fresh and perfectly cooked to. I was happily surprised especially with the ratings of this Hooter. Sometimes if you hit one of the not so good Hooters they might be stingy on the sauce but not this one! We had both Hot and 3 Mile Island and they where both great. Hot fries, hot fried Mozzarella sticks. They had only Pinot Grigio and Muscado for white wine, but the PG was cold and not bad so I didn't miss my Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc that much. So... I've lived up in the Sumner County area for almost 6 years and I have never ever been to this Hooters. The main reason was the terrible reviews this location has. A busy work night down in Nashville had me craving wings but the problem was it was 10 pm. There are really good places to get wings (my preference is Wingstop and then Buffalo Wild Wings) but of course they were closed. The Hooter's at Largo Dr, Nashville was open but I didn't want to drive home at 11 PM, so I decided to finally give the one in Rivergate a try. It was as busy as you'd imagine on a 10PM, Monday night. There was a small party of people, some dudes at the bar and then me. I don't drink, so I was seated at the other side of the restaurant. My waitress was Madison and one of the better Hooter's waitresses I've had in a LONG time. Personable, down to Earth, was accommodating and yes, she had really pretty eyes. I ordered the fried pickles (great) but was told they didn't have oysters (boo). Then I had a mix of Hooter's Original wings in Garlic Parm and Honey Sriracha. Like I said the food is exactly what I remembered and actually cooked well. Next time I'll order the Philly Cheese steak, which is my other go-to. Nikki didn't seem too happy about a single female at her table. This became more apparent as 2 different tables of men were sat around me. Staff is inept when it comes to drivers picking up Doordash and Uber Eats orders. They rarely acknowledge that anyone has even entered the restaurant. Every time I've tried to pick up a delivery here, I've had to walk over to the order pickup window just to get anyone's attention. Uber Eats send me to this Hooters to pickup an order from The American Grilled Cheese Company. When I went up to the pickup window, one of the female staff finally noticed me. I showed her the order on my phone and she said "good luck wit dat". She asked me to wait by the front door while she disappeared into the kitchen. I waited for about 6 minutes. Not a single staff member came up to me and asked if I'd been helped. I cancelled the "virtual restaurant" trip, then cancelled the other pending Hooters delivery I had, since it was obviously not going to happen anytime soon. Get to the location approximately at 12:01 and the doors are locked. I was only able obtain access to the restaurant when 2 customers were leaving.This is unacceptable especially since it wasn't closing time and my card had already been charged for order. To make matters worse my food wasn't even ready. I had to wait another 10 or so mins to get my order. My order I was wrong I paid for fish n chips with curly fries and a side of queso dip I received fish and tots with no dip. My fries are room temp and my fish is bland with hardly any batter. We waited 10 minuets for a server to come take our drink order. When she got our drink order we ordered 2 appetizers. She checked on us about 10 mins later and we ordered a 6 piece Daytona wings since we were going to stay to watch the race/ hockey game. Well 35 mins after ordering our appetizers we finally received then. We ordered our food when the appetizers came. We waited another 15 minutes and still have not received our Daytona wings. We decided to get our food Togo since we have been there an hour and service had been horrible. We finally got our to go meals 35 mins after ordering them. We get home to realize that they did not give us our Daytona wings or the fries to my sons burger. No we did not go back or call to let then know because it wouldn't have made a difference. We weren't going to drive 20 mins back to the restaurant to get them, service was not up to par at all. Servers going out back for 10/15 mins at a time leaving their customers wondering when they will be back. There was at-least 3 cooks in the back. There is no reason why it should take 30 minuets to get appetizers! I worked in the restaurant industry for 3 years and NEVER once it took 30 minuets to get appetizers out! The manager never came by the table to see how everything was. I know when I worked in the restaurant industry the managers ALWAYS walked the floor to make sure customers were taken care of.
