My appointment for a gel manicure and regular pedicure with Tina was at 1pm, and I got there a few minutes early. We picked out polishes and then started the pedicure before moving on to the manicure. I was there for about 100 minutes total (some of the reviews said three hours, so I was relieved). Tina is METICULOUS and so nice. She has been doing nails for 30 years, and it shows! She was able to recommend what would look best, my cuticles look amazing, and the pedicure didn't even tickle me like it normally does. I paid $70 for both, and tips are cash only. This is not the place for an upscale, pampering spa day--it could use some updating, instruments didn't come in sterilized peel packs, etc.--but the price is right for a standard and high-quality mani/pedi.

I didn't realize I had a "level 4" person which meant I'd pay $300 for getting my roots done!! I opted on NOT get a haircut after realizing the person doing my hair was not very attentive, ... I am on the hunt to click with someone- moved here from CA where I had my amazing hairstylist in Orange County for 15 years. Here in VA I've been almost 3 years, and no one comes close. I digress. For context, I am a college age girl with thick brown hair that exclusively asks for long layers and face framing pieces. The first time I went to BUBBLES, I told Clair I wanted 2 in off. The second time I went to the salon, to a different stylist, I got botched layers and my hair was in the shape of a v for months. I come back today (because my sister swears by Clair and this place and her hair always turns out perfectly) with inspiration pics, asking questions and being as involved as I could have been. I asked for 2in off, mind you my hair is all the way down my back at this point. Clair, again, assures me all will be well and by the end of the appointment had chopped off 7 INCHES of my hair. At the end of the appointment she says "oh, I didn't realize how much I cut off" and offers me a 10% discount, which was not only upsetting but also insulting to say the least. Keep in mind, 2 more inches and I would have had a bob. I am so appalled and upset that that was the reaction I got. I am never one to complain or cause a problem, but I had been growing out my hair for 1.5 years up to today, so I am really upset.
