Extremely disappointed with my haircut from Kim yesterday. I asked for my hair to be trimmed so when it was dry it would be at my collarbone. I also asked for layers. She was gentle in her technique and my lashes look fantastic! She has a calming way about her and is super fun to talk to. Went here to try botox for the first time. The nurse was pleasant enough and explained the process and made recommendations. After the service the receptionist asked if I wanted to put the tip on my credit card. I decided to tip in cash and did so - which the nurse accepted. After I got home, I found out that tips are frowned upon for medical services. The nurse made a point of telling me that she is a registered nurse. Clearly, this isn't an upstanding operation. Super disappointed leaving Radiance today. I asked for a nice blowout with curls and that's not what I got. The stylist said she'd make my curls tight so they would loosen before the party lol but that did not happen the curls fell out as soon as I got to my car. The front desk person at the Lansdowne location is often rude. In contrast, the front desk person at Broadlands is kind. Have to go though Lansdowne to schedule Broadlands. Confusing and unpleasant. If you're feeling sick on the day of the appointment you'll get charged $100 for missing the appointment so it's better to go in sick to avoid the charge potentially getting others sick. Strange policy considering covid and the flu is going around. Not the best for hygiene and not good customer service. Will choose other options for the future. I am so scared of hair salons but this is the first time I've walked out as excited and happy as i did. Valerie just blew my mind! She actually was literally reading my mind. I was showing pictures and saying what I wanted without realizing what I was actually asking for and she just put it all together and explained the entire process and showed me what I was wanting and how to get there. I appreciated her patience too because I wanted to go from really dark to really light and instead of blasting my hair she took 4-5hrs and lightened my hair without making it feel burnt and harsh. On top of getting me the perfect balayage, the cut she gave me lined my face just right and it took her maybe 10mins. Now that's impressive, I've barely seen anyone cut hair so precisely yet quickly at the same time. Should you go here? Yes. The staff are excellent, professional, yet laid back. There's no pressure to upsell or push product, but they're extremely knowledgeable in their services and willing to help you find the product that fits your needs if you so desire. Be it massage, salon services, mani/pedicure or facials they've got a wide variety of options and choices. It's a lil' expensive compared to some of the local competition, but I legitimately feel they have a better end product. Shes so knowledgeable and good at what she does and is super sweet and friendly so I really look forward to seeing her every 3 months! This is a diamond level salon for Brilliant Distinctions so all the injectors here are super talented and well educated, and there's always great coupons too. They do $11/unit Botox Fridays twice a month so the price is on point too!! I've seen Katie a few times for Botox too and she's also great! This is one of the nicest salons I've been to in the area. The stylists are great. Today I have decided that after a year of coming here that I will not be returning... Ever. At the prices this place charges, the receptionist should be nice and polite, which is not the case this evening. The condescending tone in her voice when I checked my daughter in is enough to cancel my appointment. Having been here numerous times, have seen children in here before... And being unaware of the "new policy" doesn't require the look of disgust on the receptionists face when I came in with my 4 children... 3 of which waited with me quietly in the front. I get better service at Great Clips at this point. I'd totally the look if my kids were being jerks... I wonder where this policy is posted... I can't seem to find it. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. It's very clean, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. And best of all they've just lowered a lot of their prices! For botox and laser it's so reasonable! Ask for Amy for Botox. Ask for Anissa if you're looking to do laser/facials. Amy always helps me achieve the perfect balance of not-being-too-frozen but looking amazing, the botox results are perfect every time. Anissa makes you feel really comfortable during the laser hair removal treatments. It can be painful sometimes, and she's really good at communicating and asking if you need "breaks" along the way. It's like having a close friend give you the treatments, she is so personable and friendly! The front desk staff is always very sweet, offering coffee, tea or water whenever you arrive. My favorite hairdresser (Kim) works here! She does a great job at creative color and isn't afraid to go a little funky! I find that the folks here like to be creative and enjoy giving you a unique look that doesn't replicate that same "posh" look that everyone seems to want. However, I still think these guys are way overpriced. I know looking good costs money, but I think they are going over the top. Particularly on the "shelf" beauty products....just way too much for me. My better half had a massage here, and he wasn't disappointed. He said that they gave a fantastic deep-tissue massage! Bottom line, if you don't mind spending a little more for the confidence that you will be looking great, then this can be a wonderful place! Just be aware that not all stylists are created equal!! I'm disappointed in the previous reviewer for lowering her rating on Radiance just because one hair dresser (her favorite) left. My wife and I have both been to Radiance and love it. This is a classy kind of place where if you have to sit in the waiting area for more than about 15 seconds, then one of the employees will offer to bring you a drink while you wait. If you ask for water, it'll come as a nice glass with a lemon wedge. Both my wife and I have been there for haircuts. Unfortunately for me, I have to get a haircut about once every two weeks, and I can't afford to go to Radiance that often. My wife goes there regularly to see Erin. Erin is a really nice, wonderful person and does a great job with my wife's hair. I have also been to Radiance a few times for a massage and have never been disappointed. Again, I wish I could afford to go more often. When friends of ours move to town and ask for a hair dresser recommendation, we don't hesitate to recommend Radiance. read more

Came here last weekend to have my hair done for a wedding. Came to Lindsey and absolutely LOVED her. She followed my instructions perfectly and made sure to ask me as we were going along if I liked what she was doing. I'll be coming back to her in 2 weeks for the same hairstyle. I also noticed the salon uses Jane Iredale makeup and is so nice. It IS pricey tho -- formal hair is $80. But worth it! Also got offered a mimosa upon arrival! I've been going to the Radiance in Ashburn for over 5 years now. I was new to the area (as were they) and figured I would go in for a haircut. The women there were absolutely fantastic. They made me feel quite comfortable and 'checked up' on me often to see if I wanted a drink, or a snack, etc. To top that, the hair stylist listened to my demands and picky preferences and followed through. I was not disappointed. In fact, I've gone in there many times now asking the stylist to do 'something different' - keeping in mind what I like. She never disappoints me. The prices are a bit high but well worth the service. The management team at the Ashburn Radiance is also very professional and understanding. I can't imagine having a complaint but if I did, I'm certain they would assist and work out something with me. To them, keeping the clients happy is priority and this is evident from the moment you step in. read more

This review is not based on the stylist who, maybe had a bad day and gave me the worst highlights on the planet, that I just got back from spending $200 to correct, who turned my pretty blonde hair bat sh*t orange with huge chunks - so bad my husband, (who wouldn't notice if I shaved my head,) said to me upon seeing it, "you have to get that fixed before our flight home for Thanksgiving" But, truthfully, everyone gets a second pass in my opinion so I will neither blame the stylist or give the name. I am not in the business of ruining people's lives. I have a 4 month old son and work in Sterling. I have been coming here because it's convenient from work. I live in Arlington, a good 45 mins from the salon. I went yesterday at 2pm to get my highlights done and a haircut. You know what happened with the highlights, what you don't know is the day started with me calling to see if they wanted to take me a little bit early. The receptionist said, sure! So, I showed up 10 mins later. I proceeded to wait 40 mins while they stared at me, chatting amongst themselves, while my hairdresser (not her fault, I truly don't think she knew I had called to come in early) sat chatting at the front desk with everyone, all of them having a merry time while I sat there. Clearly, as the manager pointed at later, I was forgotten during the shift change. Ok, fine, I'll forgive this too. Orange hair and 40 minute wait. I'm still not that upset yet. Fast forward to the convo with the hubby (it was dusk as I got in my car to drive home and I truly didn't notice how bad the hair was until I pulled my hair back to make a ponytail and saw that one side of my head had highlights that started at the root and the other had a good 1/2 inch of natural color and then bright orange. No picture could do this justice. At first I wasn't going to call because I really hate this type of confrontation, but after going to get it corrected and seeing their faces as I walked in, I knew I had to. I talked to the assistant manager (again, I won't name names) who said she would run it passed her manager. I explained I have a flight tonight and my 4 month old son with me, I had a super small window to run somewhere local to try to salvage and there was no way I could drive back to Ashburn and back in time for my flight, I am leaving for the holiday, yada yada. The asst manager checked with her manager and said there is nothing they can do for me, it's clear I needed lowlights and toner (duh, but also I needed all new highlights that weren't orange) but their policy is to give the stylist a second chance to correct. I would agree with that normally, but given my circumstance, wouldn't you offer me some sort of credit? I am now out 390 dollars on a partial highlight. I think I was more than fair. I didn't ask for a credit towards the haircut or my tip back, just the highlights. It's not my fault your salon messed up in multiple ways yesterday. As the customer, I shouldn't have to cancel a flight and drive 45 minutes away to get my hair fixed. It honestly hurts me to post this, but, as others have mentioned, do not go here if you expect good customer service. Being a director of CS myself, I am appalled. read more

I have been seeing Candace for years for my hair. She's always been great at helping me pick out a color, and what will look good. She helped fix my color when I attempted to go from black to blonde myself and I now have the perfect shade of blonde for me. I trust her completely. and I come out looking great every time! Recently I started seeing Jessica for waxing/facials and she too has been great! I had actually never had any professional waxing done before, and she was great at making it painless. She helped decide the best type of facial treatment for my skin, and I am excited to continue as I have already seen improvements. Jen at Radiance is AWESOME! Went in today as a first time customer and could not be happier with my haircut. She spent way more time than any other stylist I've been to looking at the way my hair grows and asking lots of questions about what I wanted before getting started. She listened to me and delivered exactly what I wanted, and even helped me figure out what I wanted when I wasn't sure myself. While she worked, she constantly checked and cross-checked to be sure my cut was even. She took her time and didn't try to rush me in and out. In fact, start to finish she spent over an hour on my haircut. She also spent plenty of time telling me how to style it at home to get the result I wanted. I will say this is the priciest haircut I've ever had ($75 + tip = $90!!) so I'm going to have to go longer between haircuts than I'd like to. But you get what you pay for and Jen is worth every penny! read more

So I just tried this place out today after reading some reviews and getting a recommendation from a friend. I called yesterday for a waxing appointment and was very excited to have a selection of openings available for today. The location is great and easy to get to in Ashburn. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and brought to the back waiting room. The spa area was warm and inviting- very clean and felt new. I did see that there was fresh tea offered in the main lobby as well as lemon water in the back waiting area. A few minutes later, the esthetician, Jessica, greeted me just and was very friendly. When I made the appointment, I had requested hard wax instead of the strips because my skin is super sensitive being that I'm pregnant. I didn't even need to remind Jessica- she already knew that I had made the request! Everything went very well and I made an appointment for a massage before I left. I can't wait for my Saturday prenatal massage and will keep my review up to date after that experience as well. read more

I first went to Radiance at the recommendation of a friend of mine. She went on about the staff and the care taken to provide a positive experience. I never really been one to go to a spa for services, but after hearing the raving comments about Jessica, I had to go. I arrived and was greeted at the door and as another commented, they took my coat and offered a drink. Jessica came out shortly to greet me and then I was off for my facial. I figured first time for a first time. There was a lot more included in a facial than I knew. About an hour later after a facial scrub, microderm abrasion, facial massage, and some trimming, I was done. I have to say that my face felt amazingly refreshed. I could feel the air blow over it. It glowed. Not something a guy will always admit too, but it's true. I will definitely be returning for another facial and hopefully other services. I appreciated the way Jessica explained each step as we went along. She also explained quite a few services they offer. I have to agree with my friends recommendation. If the rest of the staff is half as thorough and accomodating as Jessica, this is the place for anyone seeking medi-spa services. read more

I just moved into the area and found Radiance Salon on yelp. Due to high-ratings and the appearance of the salon I felt comfortable making an appointment. As I arrived the facility was extremely well kept and the staff was professional. I have no complaints about professionalism nor the facility. My first mistake was getting 17 inches cut off with a hairstylist I have never had...my fault. I did ask for a Master Hair Stylist and my expectations were let down. I requested my hair colored and cut, unfortunately my hair would not hold the color and my cut was horrible. Now I wasn't charged for the color but asked to return to have it corrected. I did intend on returning until I arrived home and realized how bad my hair was cut. Fortunately, I did find a new salon who did a fantastic job fixing my hair, unfortunately I will not be returning to Radiance Salon for color or cut. :( read more

Saw Melanie today for my first EVER Botox treatment. Of course I was nervous, even after extensive research. Melanie was fantastic. She answered all of my questions thoroughly without making me feel like this procedure was a big deal or anything to be ashamed of. She was also very conservative with her suggestion regarding how many units to inject. It was clear that she did not intend to just pump me with botox to run up my bill. On the contrary, she listened to my concerns and proceeded with a very moderate amount that I was beyond comfortable with. Procedure itself was quick, simple and painless. I went on sunday and the place was very nice. I had a very difficult request for my hair and they pulled through and teamed up to make my hair what it is now. I started as very dark brown/black and they got me to a golden blonde (dark) but its a great start. I had a bleach bath then highlights followed by toner. I received a bang trim and the ends of my hair trimmed as well. The price point at the end was NOT worth what I got however. I walked out spending $439.05. WHAT!? I loved them but I won't be going back there. read more
