This location appears to have talent but the problem is their pricing and staff in the front. First, I called to schedule roots and trim, I had no idea who to go with so they pick someone over the phone and I showed up. I didn't realize I had a "level 4" person which meant I'd pay $300 for getting my roots done!! I opted on NOT get a haircut after realizing the person doing my hair was not very attentive, ... I am on the hunt to click with someone- moved here from CA where I had my amazing hairstylist in Orange County for 15 years. Here in VA I've been almost 3 years, and no one comes close. I digress. So the young lady in the front (looked out of high school- blonde, awkward two tone hair) was aggressive and said I was with a level 4 so that's the price because he's an amazing stylist. After making appointments for my daughter and I, they refused to listen to what we needed. 5 hours later, my daughter received a simple haircut and I ended up completely blonde after asking with gray blending with lowlights. After paying, the 2 stylists stared us down to make sure we were going to give them a tip. They only accepted Venmo for tips and their internet was taking forever to connect. They walked us outside and stood right next to us until the money went through. We will not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible service, very unprofessional, and a waste of my day. If you are looking to get a perm I do not recommend going here. We had went in for a re-perm yesterday and didn't have a good experience. Once we stated we were doing a re-perm we specified we wanted tight curls as well. They start the process and felt burning sensation in the back of the head but didn't think much of it. I stated i wanted a TRIM but they continued to give me a haircut, fast fwd the perm is done and the curls are LOOSE and I have patches in the back of my head! We mentioned it to the lady and she claimed it was from " medicine " for a re-perm?????? Total came out to more than 220$ and was not worth it at all. The hair feels dead now and the hair looks exactly like when I walked in. I do NOT recommend this place at all for any perm services. I went based off the reviews but they do not live up the reviews posted online.To add on also the front desk receptionist stated it can start at 120-130$ and varies but varies by $120+ more??? Only good thing I can say is that customer service is great, they ensure to check if you need any beverages etc, nothing wrong there but the actual services are not good! read more

I had a really great experience at the four seasons salon! Kristen was my hairstylist and she was super friendly and helpful with all my concerns. I scheduled a trim with her in a few months and I'm looking forward to the next cut! I'm not sure who washed my hair but it was also such a good experience. I am sad to write that the stylist I loved was let go. I never heard from this salon to inquire if I wished to keep my apt this Saturday, due to my stylist no longer working there, or if i wanted to cancel. Thank goodness I was a long term client of the stylist, and the stylist reached out to inform me. I never received a call or an email, from the salon. I have been going to 4 seasons for a few years, and all my information was in the system. I also was having my eyebrow waxing and coloring done here. Due to my treatment, I will no longer be returning. I let the owner know how disappointed I was and she blamed the stylist, very very unprofessional. If you find a stylist you like here, be sure to share your email and cell number with the stylist, because if let go, the owner will not reach out to inform you that your stylist has left. I guess if I walked in today with my daughter, and granddaughter we would have had our mimi/momma day surprise ruined. My boyfriend bought me several services for my birthday here. The massage and the hair cut was great! They sold my boyfriend their facial service, the lady doing my facial knocked their services, convinced me to buy a peel instead, knowing this was a pre-paid birthday present. She suggested a peel knowing well in advance i was taking a road trip the next day and convinced me that i would not peel. I did peel and i had a work presentation the next day. Facial lady did not clearly tell me it would be an upcharge of 120$. Then when I went to check out the manager was calculating the total in front of me knowing it was a present and arguing about wether they should call my bf to pay for the upcharge or not. It was so cringe because my bf pre planned everything as a birthday present telling them not to disclose any payment information. Then mani pedi lady did not have the color black among other supplies to do the service but charged me full anyways. My bf probably paid around $700 and tipped these people close to 200$. If I had known how he was tipping these people id have not let it happen especiallyafter my interactions with the manager. The owner called and pretended to seem apologetic but there was no follow up. The manager incharge there was obviously rude and inconsiderate. Needless to say im not returning there! I was traveling and able to get same day partial highlights (no trim) for $175. When doing consult, the stylist did not show me colors she wanted to use - she just mixed it up and applied a caramel color I did not ask for as "low lights". I would have far preferred N7, which I would have pointed out if asked during consult when they bring color samples out or ask what you want. I didn't ask to be surprised, but I can get it fixed next time. (With my hair, the caramel turns red pretty quickly even if I use purple shampoo.) When it was time to check color processing and wash, she washed without even opening to check how it was processing. I was rather surprised by this, but seems to have turned out well. Then no trim, no frace framing - nada. Despite that, great blow out. So overall, not really at the level of professionalism that I'm used to, but nice stylist. Very talented, kind, and gentle. TL;DR My first experience was 4 stars. My second experience was 1 star. Tony did a great job my first cut. However my second cut he didn't show up to the salon until 40 minutes after my appointment. This, of course, reflects on management. There is no way management should let a client show up if the stylist isn't there. I expected a phone call, or at least an informative update once I checked in and they KNEW the stylist wasn't in work. Location: Park at Nordstrom and walk through the mall that way, the Nordstrom cafe neighbors the salon! ATM available for tips right inside Nordstrom:) Quick tip! I used the Yelp 20% check in discount , they honored it for my $80 cut & style but did tell me they're removing it asap as the discount was old. They also mentioned the discount for first time clients on their website is only for specific stylists. Maybe that means Tony, my stylist, wasn't included. Price: $80 for cut and style + tip. Took about 50 minutes. My hair is below my shoulders for reference. Not sure if that causes it to be more or less expensive depending on length. Stylist: I highly recommend Tony. He asked many questions since this was my first visit with him. He explained everything as he was doing it. He was disappointed I didn't want the blow dry he originally envisioned, I wanted big curls, he acquiesced to my request and gave up his original plan (begrudgingly). Second experience: I showed up for my second appointment on time. I never received a call before I showed up, or an update once I arrived that my stylist wasn't there. The salon really intended to "hope it all falls in place"! They eventually took me back to shampoo 10 minutes late. At that point they still didn't tell me Tony wasn't there at the salon. Once the assistant put a deep conditioner in my hair, that I didn't ask for, and would require me to sit for 10 minutes, I realized something was not okay. I asked them to take out the conditioner. They did. I asked where Tony was, they said he'd been right out. Spoiler alert, he never did come out. I left 40 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin. I left with my hair still soaking wet and went straight to a salon in Tyson's Corner. Follow up: I recieved a follow up phone call as soon as I left. They asked me to come back, after finally coming clean, and explaining Tony was running late due to car issues. I did not take them up on their offer. Again, I don't think this reflects Tony, he can't help personal issues, but the salon should have handled this differently. I recieved another phone call later from the owner, with another apology. First, my cut and color turned out great and I really liked Akram. However, the salon insisted on not only taking a credit card to hold the reservation (which is normal) but they charged it $100. I paid an additional $315 for the actual service, and then noticed four days later that the $100 charge was not a temporary hold but went through. I had to call to notify them that they owed me $100 back. The receptionist seemed clueless but then asked for my card number again to run the refund (at this point I was not comfortable with once again giving them my card information but I did it). She indicated it would take 3-4 days to go back to my bank account. So now they'll have had $100 of my money for over a week before I get it back. In addition, I asked for the 15% first time discount indicated here on their Yelp page, but I was told that my services didn't qualify. If a haircut and color don't qualify, then don't put "15% off your first hair service" on your Yelp page! Further, I booked the appointment through Yelp and messaged via Yelp directly with the owner to do so. So I guess all told, my service should have been around $267 instead of $315, and I should not have been charged an additional $100 for the "privilege" of making an appointment. You do the math - $415 charged vs. $267 advertised. Not worth the hassle. read more

Today I went to the Four Seasons Salon and Spa. From the moment I walked into the spa, I knew this place was going to be exceptional. The staff greeted me with a warm, friendly greeting. The salon owner, Bobby, was so kind and welcoming. I then went to see Akram for my hair color and styling, and he was AMAZING! I came home and my fiancee said that my hair looked so beautiful and shiny, the best he had seen my hair look from a salon. They use top of the line, lux products here - Kevin Murphy, R&Co, and soon will be using Keratase. This salon is one of the top salons in northern VA, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed! If I could give them zero stars, I would. My sister went in to get her hair done tonight for prom. She showed them a picture of her hair from a past prom CURLED. Perfect spiral curls. No updo, just curls. The stylist started (which, by the way, the stylist's hair was in a loose, messy ponytail...a tad unprofessional and tacky-looking for a hair stylist). After 30-45 minutes, she finished, whirled my sister around and announced "There you go! Perfect beachy waves." My sister and I just stared at her. BEACHY WAVES?!?!? She's going to PROM not out for a piña colada!! Not curls at ALL. We spoke with the manager, expressed our frustration, sister was trying not to cry, we were running out of time, and finally realizing the manager just did. Not. Care. we left. $65 later and not at all the hair she wanted. No updo or anything, just wavy hair for $65. Terrible experience. She took time to question how straight I wanted my hair, evaluate what sections were more curly than others to determine best distribution of heat, and no physical reactions during treatment. So I was out and about on Saturday evening when my nail breaks...great. My spot closed at 6, but thankfully the Four Seasons was open until the mall closed. They're a little pricey -- $35 to fix & fill my manicure when my normal place costs $20. So that kind of stunk, but I did break two and needed a fill. But, the service was bar none. They were booked for the evening, and when I told them that I chipped off a nail they squeezed me in. Which I understand; they only had one nail tech working on a Saturday night, and I'm sure they don't get a lot of walk ins. My nails look great. She fixed the broken nail(s) and the color looks fantastic. I spent about 5/10 minutes with my nails under a fan before they sent me out the door, so I knew they weren't dry. But still, it was the end of the night so I wasn't going to sit around and bug them. They were super friendly and the whole process was easy. They had me pay before putting on the polish when they'd be wet, because they're smart enough to realize that you shouldn't be digging around in your purse with a fresh manicure to mess up the polish. read more

Didn't even make it to the reception desk. Tony does my husband's hair and he stopped us right out front to chat. I mentioned I was wanting to change the tone of my hair since it currently has a blonde ombré style. Let me reiterate again before I get into this: All I said was "I don't like the golden tones in my hair, I want to change it". Boom. This is what followed... Tony took it upon himself to give me a 10 minute lecture on how my hair looks great as is, I'd have to use an ash based green dye, and that I should just use purple shampoo to tone it. Hmm... I thought people come to stylists to get their hair done how THEY want it, not how the stylist thinks it should be... 1. I DO want an ash hair tone 2. He told me nothing I didn't already know. Blonde hair means colors such as green and red need to be added back to my hair in a BALANCED way. This is the main reason I was coming to a PROFESSIONAL. 3. I've been using purple shampoo ever since I had this hair color (about a year now). I understand the color wheel. Purple tones yellow. 4. I can assume from this encounter color is NOT Tony's "thing" or passion. Therefore, not the stylist I want for my hair. Maybe it's too complicated for him or he's not confident in his ability to take someone from blonde back to a lower level or different tone. But wait, there's more! Tony also took it upon himself to point to my hair tie and tell me he "hates those things" and that I should get a plastic clip. Yes, I was lectured as an ADULT that hair ties pull hair out- big surprise?! To this I responded, "Yes, my 9 month old son also pulls my hair out. So it's the hair tie or my son right now". I got the vibe Tony is just one of those men who tells it to women the way HE believes it should be. Sorry Tony, I am not one of those women. This happened yesterday. I've taken some time to cool down from this insulting experience, but I'm leaving this review for others to be aware of what they might be walking in to. I went in for a haircut for my 10 year old daughter and asked if anything was open for a walk-in today, the receptionist (the owner) looked at the availabilities and told me nothing was available at all today. Before answering me, she answered a phone call and instead of putting the call on hold, she made me wait while she finished with the call. Which is not very professional but it's fine. Then she exchanged some questionable looks with the other receptionist woman and informed me there was nothing open. I stepped out and called the salon immediately and asked if there was an availability for a hair cut today and I was told there is an available spot today. I went back and confronted the owner who straight lied to me for whatever reason. She absolutely denied everything and tried to tell me it was a misunderstanding!!! Mind you, there was absolutely no miscommunication. She said clearly "there is nothing available for today". I've been going to Akram since shortly before the new year. I have been looking for a knowledgeable stylist for almost 8 years. I traveled to see different stylists in DC and while they were great, I always found something lacking. Akram is so personable and honest. He told me day one to give him at least 3 haircuts to get the final result I wanted to achieve. That first haircut was amazing, the second was fantastic and the third almost unreal. My hair is wavy and unruly but the way he cuts your hair, he makes it work for you. It's been easier to style, easier to maintain, and the way it grows out, it's like a real life hair commercial. I receive compliments very often and have referred my girlfriends to Akram. Not only does he cut hair to perfection but he's also a master colorist. I hadn't dyed my hair in almost 15 years but my level of trust and confidence in his abilities had me sitting in his chair for highlights just a couple of months ago. He made sure to listen to my needs and set realistic expectations (my hair is dark and I know we weren't going to achieve the platinum blonde look). I booked a spa day for a friend's bachelorette party and was so impressed with our services! I worked with Bobbie, the salon manager, to book 5 women for the Relaxation & Rejuvenation package (massage, facial, manicure, pedicure). She provided us with a private room so we had a place to relax between services. We were able to bring in champagne and food, and the salon gifted us with a bottle of champagne. The services themselves were amazing. Personally, I had Gaby as my massage therapist, Sheida as my esthetician, and Ruby as my nail technician. The entire team was welcoming, professional, personable, and made us and the bride feel special. The quality of service at this price point is hard to beat. I was with my one year old since I didn't have anyone to take care of her that day. I got there at 2:20 and my appointment was at 2:15 I had called ahead letting them know that I was going to be 5-10 minutes late if that's ok and the receptionist said it was totally fine which I appreciate. I was waiting for my hairstylist since she was still busy with another client. 10-15 minutes passed she finally came to me and asked if she ever did my hair and if my daughter was going to stay with me. Obviously she was. Then she told me she would do my hair in a private room since I had my baby with me and I told her oh ok that's totally fine so she told me to wait since there was another person in the room and she was going to ask how much longer they would take. She never came back to let me know how long they would take but instead send another hairstylist to let me know that she's not going to do my hair anymore since she thinks my kid would touch her foil or dye(like I would let my one year old do that) the new hairstylist was willing to do my hair with my kid being there but I didn't know if she was good or not since I didn't have her last time but I was there already and was willing to just do it so she said hold on and went back then the two hairstylist and the two receptionist were all behind the receptionist desk I'm guessing trying to decide what to do with me and finally the older receptionist lady came to me it seemed like she had a bit of an attitude and told me "what do you want to get done" so I told her I Just want my roots done and she said no you have to do highlights and this other stuff and I told her I don't want to do that. It was already 3pm and I was over it so I left the store while the older receptionist followed me out loudly saying excuse me! If my hairstylist would of told me from the beginning that my kid was an issue then it would be totally understandable but instead they had me waiting for no reason. It's upsetting because when she did my hair the first time and we were talking about our kids she told me it was totally fine if my kid could of came with me so when I took my kid there I was sure that it would be fine.
