I checked in Sunday evening for alcohol detox treatment…read more I've received treatment before I'm 2017 and don't remember it poorly. I understand rhe intake questions for alcohol are pretty intense but her demeanor was not kind. At one point I stuttered because I wasn't sure how to answer. She repeated it again in the exact same way, but louder, and another nurse stepped into further clarify. The lady who stepped in was the only person who showed an ounce of respect for me as a human. As the process continued I spoke to a couple different staff and not one looked me in the eye. I displayed no anger or hostility so I'm not sure if that's company policy but it certainly didn't read as empathy in a vulnerable period. While we waited the last who did the line of questioning brought back my boyfriend and asked if he was my drinking buddy. They told me blood pressure was super high, handed me a 5000$ bill (not their fault, but showed no interest in helping me find help elsewhere or working with me for payment plans or anything). I asked to leave and they said surely. Literally. I hate to complain but I was so horrified and thank god I wasn't there for suicide because that wouldn't not have helped after being shown zero empathy, or respect as a person for that matter. My heart breaks for the next person who enters that facility and are treated this way. There is hope and other facilities. I went to a different facility the next day and was treated with the utmost respect and made me feel proud for pushing through and sticking up for myself.

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE "ADULT" unit, WHICH WAS ACTUALLY IN THE PREVIOUS CHILD UNIT, WAS HORRIBLE…read more The place was meant for children! With rock hard chairs, an extremely loud place at nearly all times, and every room an open GOLDFISH BOWL where every passerby is able to see everything in the room at any time. The former CHILDREN'S UNIT is a severe downgrade from the previous, ACTUAL adult unit. I was extremely mistreated by the female medical dr. Not the female psychiatrist . She acted all friendly, and then proved why she has to work as a fill-in for a real dr. Notice I didn't capitalize her so called title. On top of that, I was made to stay in a room which EVEN THE NURSES said was maybe 60*, and they never did NOTHING to fix it, and lied, claiming there was no room to xfer me to! I was unable to shower all 6 days in that god forsaken room because I was shivering in that AWFUL room. The nurses/techs were ok, but the nasty, dismissive "social worker" clearly didn't give a damn about the her patients OR doing her job! I was in the adult unit when Adults were IN IT, and this change to put adults in the children's area was A HUGE DOWNGRADE. If you like the truths I've told you about this place, I sincerely urge you to go there. If what I've told you about my experience does NOT sound good, I URGE YOU TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
