Amazing, amazing, amazing... I recently purchased a renovated tavern from the 1700s... this home will be a family style home for veterans.... Kyle, Andrew and Charles are amazingggggggggg.... Did I tell you how amazing they are???? Just amazing.... (wink).... As a down stater from Queens/NYC, I am blown away by their timely service, ultra professional behaviour... Imagine my shock, stress and fright when I found out an hour of closing on my new investment property for VETERANS ONLY, that I had no septic!!!! My home inspector, Collier Home Inspection (the absolute worst and most unprofessional... don't ever use them!!!!! Unless you want to waste your money...) never even informed me that I, as the new owner might have septic issues, or due to the age of the home, I should get an xtra septic inspection prior to purchasing the home (we don't have septics/cesspools downstate)...... Hopewell Septic When Hopewell Septic did a visual inspection of my septic tank, I was somewhat surprised when Matthew scraped a handful of flour-like cement off the inside wall of my tank. I knew the tank was 52 years old, but I didn't think it was that bad. I scheduled a replacement, but it would take a few months as they are booked solid. They showed up at 8:30 on July 20th and got right to work. They pumped and then crushed the old 1000 gallon tank and cleaned up the hole and made measurements before installing the 15,000 tank I had ordered. Unfortunately, there was solid ledge under the old tank and the new tank was going to be too tall. They took the new tank away and returned with a low-profile 1,250 gallon tank. It took 2 hours with a jack hammer to level out the high spots on the bottom ledge, and using levels and laser measuring tools to make sure it was right, they finally dropped in the new tank. They told us ahead of time that we might be 24 hours without the use of our bathrooms. They partially backfilled with stone and hooked up the inlet line to the new tank and said we could flush the toilets again 6 hours after they started! They used long steel rods to tamp down the stone constantly as they backfilled to make sure that the stone got under the ridges on the bottom of the tank. They stopped every few minutes to use the laser and the levels to make sure that nothing was moving our of alignment. The crew worked all day with just a short break for lunch - the temperature was 96° with 50% humidity! The crew left after 10 hours, but Charley, the owner, was still working using the headlights on his backhoe to finish the backfilling and level the ground at 8:30pm. The crew was back at 9 the next morning for the cleanup. They raked out every disturbed area, put down grass seed and fertilizer and covered with straw. They removed the plywood sheets they had put on the driveway so the heavy truck would not leave dents if the driveway softened in the heat. They spent 20 minutes pressure washing and brushing the road where one of their trucks had dripped a little oil. The backhoe was on rubber tracks and left no marks on the steep front lawn to reach the work area. I have never seen people work like this, and Charley has definitely got the whole crew tuned into his work ethic. Every time they ran into a problem, it didn't faze them for a moment, and they just went right back to work and fixed it. read more

They explained the price was based on the gallon size which I didn't know and found helpful. One of the owners, Charlie came out. He talked to my husband while he worked and was really a nice guy. Found water spraying into our basement via the foundation! Come to find out when a water main breaks on your side of the sidewalk, it's your problem, and that's exactly what happened. Had the water department come out and shut off the water and asked them if they recommended anyone for help, and they recommended Hulsair Excavating. Ultimately it ended up being a big job where the yard had to be dug up and a new pipe put in (didn't want to disturb out 100+ year old porch which was over the old pipe) not to mention the huge bolder we ran into... BUT... they made it so easy. They are not only really nice guys, but they are clearly super competent and gave me a KILLER price. I won't say how much here, but neighbors and friends all agreed. Also, them knowing the local water department folks helped as things have to be checked as you go and when you go to turn the water back on, etc. If you need someone these are the people to call!!! I have used a well known company in the past but was only okay with the service, so I checked the Better Business Bureau for septic cleaning businesses in the area. The BBB gave Hopewell an A+ rating. Then I went to Google, Yelp, etc. and saw the excellent reviews, so I gave the company a try. It was very easy setting up an quick appointment. Charles, the owner, was very professional. He explained what was being down, and I never felt he was trying to do the job as quick as possible. He explained what he was doing, took pictures to show me the condition of the tank (which is a very old one) and what it would take to put in a new one. He didn't try to push a new one and said that since it isn't broke, why change it now. Hopewell Septic is as good as the reviews say and will definitely use them again. read more

I am very happy with my decision to hire Hopewell Septic Pumping! Ed came today and pumped my septic tank. He also assessed my tank and explained the issues it has and what needs to be done to repair them. He was great and explained how I could repair the tank rather than replace it and that they can take care of the whole thing for me. Their tank pumping price was much less than another company that I had spoken to - (this other more expensive company actually had been a no-show for an appt I had made with them for the pumping!). I had a septic emergency and contacted Hopewell Septic Pumping......right from the start I knew I made the right call. The person in the office was very professional and reassuring. It was well past 1 PM but she told me they would get a crew out to handle my emergency that day! I got a call close to 5PM that the crew was "on the way" to me. To the rescue, one, two, three trucks roll up and a crew of 3 (plus the owner Charlie) jump on my problem. All of the crew were knowledgeable and hard working. Within minutes Charlie explained the problem and possible options to resolve the issues. Bottom line, clogged line.....house to tank, but also cast iron pipe broken from house to tank. This break was discovered by camera inspection and video shown to me. The crew got the septic flowing safely again but planned to come back next day to install new pipes from house to tank. They left around 6:30PM as the sun was setting. Next day a crew of 3 returned and replaced the old cast iron pipes, installed a riser on tank access cover and installed an exterior/outside clean-out. End result.....high quality job performed by expert, hard working, very knowledgeable, respectful crew.....and VERY neat. I called for a non-emergency pumping and was given a date and time window (a couple of weeks hence, but not a problem). The office lady called a couple of days prior to the scheduled date to remind me - just left a message. The truck came within the time window, and the technician was pleasant and knowledgeable. He did a thorough pumping and noticed a broke baffle. He said he could have a guy come and do a repair on his way home the next day. The next day, the guy didn't come, so I called the office. The lady wasn't there so I left a message. She called back shortly thereafter and apologized for the no-show, saying the guy (Ed) had worked very late the night before and didn't want to come that late, so he'd be here that day. He was, and he installed some poly piping that does the job of the baffle (keeps floating stuff out of the leach field). The overall price was reasonable, and I'm very happy with the result. I definitely recommend these guys. The last time I had it pumped (another company), the guy didn't even look at the baffle. That's why I didn't call them this time. read more
