I agree with all the other 5 star reviews. I thought my septic needed pumping because there was water pooling somewhere near where I thought my tank was. I found this place on Yelp and it sounded solid so I made an appointment with Mike, who came out to my house right on time. As it turned out, it wasn't my septic at all, but an entirely different problem created by the previous owners, who had simply run a waste pipe from the washing machine into the ground about four feet from the house. Mike contacted a well company (2 guys, actually), who dug a trench and extended the pipe another 10 feet or so down the hill, where it should have been in the first place. Mike is professional, honest, experienced and friendly. Highly recommended. read more

I'm posting this negative review due to your unresponsiveness... Dishonest Bear- I would not recommend Great Bear Septic. Mike and Jeff serviced our tank in late Sept 2019. Mike was very professional, unfortunately we cannot say the same about his partner Jeffrey. Since we have an old septic cover, Jeffrey recommended that we replace it. He quoted a price that included total removal of the old cover. Jeffery returned a week later to replace the cover and promised to return to pick up and remove the old cover since it did not fit in his personal car. I've been calling Jeff for over a month with no response. I finally called Mike to remedy the situation and he assured me that he and Jeff will come to pick up the old cover. We're still waiting for them to pick up the old cover sitting on our lawn. Mike should not allow Jeffery to interact with customers and offer services he can't deliver. Untrustworthy, bad service and deceptive tactics to take your $$$. BE WARE OF THE BEAR! read more

HOrrible Great Bear Septic........DO NOT USE.... Set up appointment 2 weeks ago for today, Sat 12-2 10/19/19.... Call him at 1pm for an ETA and the guy was so rude.. Said he did not think he would get to me today, that he was in traffic, etc etc. Never called and let me know, I had the manhole cover uncovered and ready and was waiting before 12.... He then told me to leave a check and he would do sometime tomorrow. I was planning on paying with CC, he never mentioned cash or check when I made appointment., He then said forget it buddy, get someone else! And so I will... what is wrong with local business, you try to use a local person and this??????? read more

Was supposed to be first job of the day so I could get onto my own things - finally when an hour later than scheduled I called , was told there was an emergency pump out and I'll be next. (Is it that hard to call?) Finally got an "I'm on my way- be there in 40 mins" call - they showed 80 mins later. Hovering over the guy I saw he was starting to finish yet there was still a bunch of blocky crusty stuff that was easily accessible - I shamed him into getting it. ( was told the old " you need some left in your tank to continue the process"). That's untrue. After they left I looked in the far end of the tank and there was quite a bit of crust left that should have been removed. Sepic guys are hired to remove solids and crust - the water in the middle isn't the issue. It takes a little work to get those things. The price was better than most and the guys were decent enough. I'm not looking for a new tank, I was looking for reasonable. It's done infrequently- next time- another company. read more

I called Mike to come and check up on my tank and he was just fantastic. He actually is the one you talk to when you call. He was very quick. He explained everything he was doing so I got educated along the way. When I called him a year later out of the blue he totally remembered me which tells me he really cares about his customers. He's also recommended some other contractors in the area to help me with some other things I needed.
