This is my third time having a kid undergo surgery with Dr. Park as the anesthesiologist for the procedure, done through Silicon Valley Surgical Center. Each time, he has drawn a design on the mask used in the procedure as a souvenir for us to take home. I find him to be very caring, responsive, professional, and he has been phenomenal as a pediatric anesthesiologist. I hope to have him again if my kids require further surgeries. The kids handled the anesthesia very well and Dr. park worked on them back to back. There were minimal effects of the anesthesia and by 3pm, they were golden and back to their normal. I'm just home from Ear and Nose surgery. Dr. Park was the anesthesiologist. He saw me before the surgery to make sure I understand the procedure. I'm 71 and a scuba diver. These procedures were to help me equalize my ears for plane rides and diving. Turns out he's a scuba diver too, as is my ENT, Dr. Ruffy (also wonderful). Dr. Park was the anesthesiologist during my sons minor eye surgery. He was very kind and caring, and he came out very soon after surgery to tell us all went well and take us back to recovery. I had eye surgery at Good Sam in San Jose yesterday. Days prior to surgery, I was told by my surgeon that I was going to be awake for it? (On my eyes?! Are you kidding me?! Eeek!) Dr. Park called me the night before to talk about my surgery and I expressed to him that I was a bit freaked out by the idea of being awake during the procedure. While in my bed waiting to go into the OR, Dr. Park swung by to connect with me. When I got to the OR, he asked me what sort of music I'd like to hear during my surgery. Of course, this was very sweet, but I'd hoped to be blissfully asleep most of the time, if not all. Let's just say that he listened to my concerns and I slept soundly through the entire procedure and woke up blissfully happy in the recovery room! No nausea or any other issues after the surgery. I still don't know what music they were playing in the OR, which proves how well he did his job. ;-) Great experience from beginning to end. Hopefully I'll get the same anesthesiologist for my next eye! read more

I was lucky enough to have Dr. Park as part of my colonoscopy team. He is a credit to his profession! A colonoscopy can be nerve racking particularly for me because with every procedure, I dread the idea of someone having to find a vein! I have very difficult small and tricky, "rolling" (yes, rolling) veins. I have been told this by many a plebotomist as well as anesthesioIogist and I was prepared to suffer a painful and traumatic "vein finding" experience, but nope, Dr. Park got it on the first try! He was patient, skillful, and intuitive. In addition to this, I was comfortable during and post procedure. In fact, I did not have an anesthetic hangover that can happen after anesthesia. He was able to select, calculate and deliver the perfect amount of anesthesia for me which can only be attested to his skill level. That is why I am writing this review. Dr. Park is an exceptional anesthesiologist! I feel I can speak with experience; I have had seven knee surgeries alone within the last two years! I spoke with Dr. Park the night before and he was reassuring. I have difficulty with anesthesia resulting in vomiting and nausea. We discussed solutions to combat that and I met with him the following morning. In the morning, Dr. Park came by to visit and immediately put me at ease. He is friendly, talkative and has a sincere concern to make you feel comfortable. I have had a lot of anesthesiologists. Dr. Park was the best I have ever had. Your time with anesthesiologists is normally so brief. Dr. Park spent time prior and after the surgery getting to know me and ensuring that I was comfortable. Dr. Park is awesome! I had to have a c-section and was fortunate to get Dr. Park as my anesthesiologist. He was helpful and explained every step of the process so I knew what to expect. He is also kind and sweet and was there for me in the operating room to make sure I did not feel alone. He talked to me me during the surgery to keep me calm and distracted. I felt like he was there the whole time and by my side. Once my husband got in the room and the baby came out, Dr. Park was generous and offered to take photos of us. He also brought my baby over to me so I could give him a kiss. He really is empathetic and knows what we are going through and does whatever he can to give us a great experience. Dr. Park took care of my 3 y/o daughter while she had to have an MRI of her brain. I was so stressed and nervous but starting from the phone call the night before, Dr. Park set my mind at ease. He explained the process and what to expect after her scan was done. He was so kind, informative and caring towards us as a family it made the scan so much easier on all of us. I cannot recommend Dr. Park highly enough. Our 8 year-old son underwent an unplanned surgery last week. Dr. Park was excellent throughout the experience. His communication with us was extremely good starting with a phone call the night before, continuing through the immediate post-op period, and even two follow-up calls. Dr. Park is BY FAR the best Anesthesiologists I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Unfortunately one of my kids has had to have a quite a few surgeries and we had Dr. Park two times. He really went the extra mile to help my Husband and I and my son feel at ease. He also did everything he could to make my son comfortable before surgery. Dr. Park asked him what he likes to do and my son answered "play flag football." What was waiting for him when he got out of surgery? The mask that was used for his surgery with a drawing of kids playing flag football with a sweet note and Dr. Park's signature! We have it in his room as a reminder of how strong he is! Dr. Park is by far one of the BEST anesthesiologists ever. He is genuinely kind and patient. He called me the evening before my surgery and ensured that I was comfortable by taking the time to answer all my questions. He visited the next day before the actual surgery and put me at ease. He has such a gentle way. Anesthesiologists are unique, they are not like primary care physicians who you see annually or more often. They come in, put you to sleep and they are done. Dr. Park was my anesthesiologist for my recent colonoscopy procedure. Colonoscopies are just one of those things you have to do and while the prep is not a walk in the park, my anesthesia part of it was! The night before, Dr. Park called to introduce himself and answer any questions I had about the anesthesia part of the procedure. I had just had hip surgeries in Nov & Dec, so I had a pretty good idea how I would react to the anesthesia. On the day of my procedure, I met him in prep and impressed she remembered the conversation the evening before about my hip surgeries. Great bedside manner. After getting me all "hooked up," he asked what my first meal after the procedure was going to be. "In-n-Out Double Double of course!" It got a "boo" from both Dr . Park & my GI doctor; rethinking, "ok Jamba Juice then." Set to go, I'm sure he said to count backwards from 100, but I think I started from 10 and don't recall getting beyond 8. I was in a for a nice nap. Easy peasy! Great touch! I woke up with ease and knew exactly where I was (not overly medicated)! Today, about a month after the procedure I received a very nice follow up email from Dr. Park inquiring how I was doing with a surprisingly nice recap of our prep conversation! Very personable and, like I mentioned earlier, great bedside manner! I know one doesn't often get to request their anesthesiologist, but given a future procedure I would make the request! read more

My 9 year old daughter had elbow surgery last week and Dr. Park was our anesthesiologist. It was actually the day after my daughter's birthday and Dr. Park was very attentive and even drew birthday presents on her mask and let her keep it as a souvenir. He is warm and kind and proactive about answering any questions both prior to and after the surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Park. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star rating is more a question around whether my daughter should have received a pain block during surgery so that when she awoke she did not have to suffer at all - maybe I should have asked about that upfront... read more

Dr. Park was the anesthesiologist during an extensive shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Frank Chen at the Fremont Surgery Center. I had never had surgery and was quite apprehensive. Dr. Park figured that out right away. He talked through everything that was going to happen, showed me why the nerve block he would do beforehand was safe and going to be really effective at limiting pain for the twelve or so hours after surgery. He talked with genuine interest making me feel like I was going to be treated very well. He's clearly skilled at his medical discipline but has developed a keen sense for the emotional dimension of his work. He's the last person you see and the first when you wake up so you want your anesthesiologist to give you a lot of confidence. Dr. Park does that. (In my case however he promised that the first person I'd see would be my fiance and he delivered. He went and fetched her from the waiting room and put her front and center in the recovery room.) After surgery he called multiple times to check on me. He knew that the surgery had been more extensive than anticipated and wanted to ensure the pain medication was providing the right relief. He worked with me to get just the right cocktail of medications to get through the first few days when things are difficult. We don't usually have much say over who will be the anesthesiologist on our surgical teams. Too bad because I'd pick him immediately. Someday late in the summer I'll be on the tennis court again and he's on my list to invite to hit some balls. And if I ever need surgery again I'll see if I can get him on my team. read more

He is always available to answer any question, and after my procedure, I awoke refreshed and ready for the rest of my day. I felt extremely well cared for, and I highly recommend him.
