One day I thought…read moremy son had a dental appt so I picked him up from school and went to his pediatric practice, then realized when I got there it was actually my appointment so I called during my appointment time to tell them my mistake and and I was so sorry. I had never missed any appointments there before. At the next appointment, I go to leave and they said please check out you have a bill. I went to the window and they said they are charging me a $100 missed appointment fee. I said but I made a mistake, this was my first missed appointment, I accidentally had it down as my son's appointment, I would never intentionally miss an appointment and I called during my appointment time to let you know I made a mistake. I asked for the office manager to review the charge. Then I start getting texts from them saying I still owe $100. I called to talk to them about it and they wouldn't talk to me on the phone, said I had to come in to speak to them and they want to know the nature of why I want to come in. So I ended up having this half assed conversation with the girl at the desk continuing to put me on hold to talk to the dentist, then come back on the phone to tell me what the dentist said. I said, forget it, I'm not coming back there. They then sent the bill to a collections office. They clearly are not from VT because most VT business owners I know are compassionate people I would totally understand if it was my second missed appointment and charging for that but it wasn't. A little compassion goes a long way and that is something that is totally missing from this office. A weird vibe there overall. Very expensive. I do not recommend at all.

They are easily the most expensive place you can go for a dentist in the area and the care is not…read moregreat. They WILL say you NEED very expensive care and you probably don't need it. People need to be warned about this place and please get a second opinion if they tell you that you need that really expensive gum deep clean that costs almost $2000 with really decent dental insurance (decent for dental insurance). As far as I can tell, they tell everyone they absolutely need that treatment. Not one person I know who went there has been told they don't need it. Those that go elsewhere are always told they don't need it by another dentist. When I went to a new dentist they said, "Yeah, you've got a lot of plaque, but we can fix this with more regular cleanings." And those cleanings are NOT nearly $2000 a pop. I also found that every service there is SO much more expensive than a non-chain, non-corporate dentist. You will pay easily twice as much for everything. They will sit with you and go over how much it is going to cost and they will be really nice and understanding about it. But those prices are insane and not normal for other dentists in the area- please know that going in. Please shop around. When I switched to Horizon down the street, my bills for some really extensive dental work went WAY WAY down. And the services aren't great at ASPEN either, and the people are really fake. I went there because I had a dental emergency and really needed a rather large filling. The dentist was polite at first, but she was really kind of rude when I was in the chair and I could tell she was just frustrated most of the time. I got a crown. The crown fell out twice, once when I was eating a caramel, but the second time, I was eating tuna salad. There are other things, like the Brattleboro location doesn't have a hygienist (they probably don't pay enough, I'm guessing their dentists are way underpaid as well.) They sent me to Keene to get that done, my appointment was for 1:00 and everyone there did not show up back from their lunch break when they close the entire office until 1:15. There were people waiting outside confused and they were just...rude about it.

Careless hygienist who caused unnecessary pain during cleaning including excruciating nerve pain…read morewith tool between teeth did not heed my request to be more gentle when I stopped her the first time. She continued in her roughneck fashion until I stopped her again, describing the pain she'd caused and left mid cleaning, holding my mouth in pain. Previously, I'd had my teeth cleaned twice a year for three years by their other hygienists with no problem. I will not go back to this office, nor do I recommend it. Additionally, their dentists are frequently replaced which is never a good sign. The current new assistant DDS is in office only on Mondays now. Receptionists don't last long either. BTW the practice photo (web stock pic?) is out of date, those guys aren't here anymore, if they ever were.

Now there seems to be a revolving door of dentists and hygienists. The care seems OK, but not to the level that it was, and I wonder about a place that has so much turnover. About four years ago my daughter had a full set of caps put on most of her baby teeth at age 3.5 in what was for her, traumatic circumstance. Needless to say, we never went to that dentist again. One of these caps fell off recently causing her mild to moderate pain, but none the less an acute situation. I called Estey Dental and the receptionist told me to Dr was out and she needed to speak with him about scheduling. She called back a few minutes later saying that he "didn't do caps" and would not see her and she HAD to go back to what we in my family call "the bad dentist". I told her about my daughters bad experience there and asked if he could simply assess the tooth, and she cut me off saying "no. She must go back to the other dentist. He won't see her". Long story short, I found a dentist that would see her with a referral from Estey Dental, I called and told them and the next day they called me to schedule a time for the Dr to assess her tooth for the referral. What a waste of my time!

I called ahead to book and was told they would "let me know tomorrow" if staffing could accommodate us. I didn't hear back until very late, and the only availability they had was late in the day on Sunday... which didn't work for our weekend snowboarding trip. They tried to make it work, but could only offer one deep tissue and one hot stone massage because of staffing limitations. In the end, it was too inconvenient and confusing to go through with it. For the weekend before Valentine's Day... and prime ski season in Vermont... staffing issues at a massage studio are frustrating and disappointing.

Well I had no idea how to work their pay parking machine and kind of was worried I would get a ticket for parking in the public pay lot. Frantic I looked for the nearest business to see if I could get change since the smallest bill I had was a five. Most businesses won't do this for you unless you purchase and item. Luckily for me I stopped in here at Jasmine's and without thinking twice, they gave me change for my five. I can see why people love this place. I hadn't been to the dentist in 25 years (oops..) and was full of nerves going into my appt…read more Windham County Dental Center was the friendliest, most relaxed and competent medical environment I have ever been in. The dental assistant (not sure of her actual title) Mary was kind and funny and took alot of time with me. She did a series of X-rays efficiently and translated what we were seeing; mostly good news thankfully. Dr Ruhle the dentist and she worked together to make a plan over the coming year and then I had a teeth cleaning. It was actually a fun and inspiring visit. It felt like all of the patients, dentists and workers were all in a village together. I would recommend it to anyone.
