I will never come back! Be very careful when bringing your dogs here. The owners bring dogs that bite and my Shiba Inu (so friendly) was bit by a brown and white boxer and another mixed brown dog (not sure what the breed was). His left leg had a bite mark on the outside and inside of his thigh. The owners just laughed that my dog was crying/yelping and it was a terrifying experience. They didn't take accountability for their dog bite so please make sure you understand that the dogs they bring are not friendly with other dogs like they are suppose to be at dog parks! read more

Good little dog park. Yea, it's a bit dusty, but dogs don't mind. There are a few shady areas, picnic tables and benches. Lots of parking. There is a water spot for your dogs to drink too! This is an off leash park. read more

I was in the area so I thought I would stop by with my two dogs... What a depressing, tiny dirt Park. I feel bad for anyone who brings their dog here after it rained because it has to all be mud. Literally no grass and it's in a floodplain. It's great that they have no problem maintaining the softball outfield 10 feet away but can't maintain any grass in the dog park. If you love your dog you will take it somewhere else. read more

The park itself is fairly nice. It's a bit dusty and can get muddy after a heavy rain. However, be extremely careful about the dogs therein. After arriving at the park around 4:45 pm, our 1.5 y old golden/lab mix, with a handicap leg, got attacked by two pit bulls. One of them was growling before we had even entered the man trap area. That should have been a sign for us to abort the visit, but we continued inside. We weren't in the dog park for even a minute before the attack began. The smaller pit attacked first and I was able to separate them. After I pulled off the smaller of the dogs, the larger one got a good grip on our dogs face/ear. We couldn't get the dog to let go. The pit bull was punched in the face several times, but that didn't even phase it. After about 30 seconds of assault, it finally let go and we left immediately to take our dog to the vet. She wasn't seriously injured, but it shook all of us up. Thank you to the patrons that helped break up the fight and gave us tips next time a dog attacks. Take your keys and jam the offending dog in the eyes!! Be careful of pit bulls. The owner even said her dogs had never acted like that before. Mind you, we have a runt, handicap, golden/lab mix that doesn't have an evil bone in her body. read more

This is a pretty small dog park, with only one area for all dogs backed up next to a baseball field. My husband and I used to go to this dog park all the time when he lived over there, but now I only go occasionally when I choose to bring my pup to work and we both need a break for lunch. The people have always been nice, but the grounds have not always been kept up. I understand that it's a dog park and it will get messed up from time-to-time, especially in the summer, but a little upkeep would be nice. They recently "remodeled" it, but I don't see much difference, besides them reseeding the grass and taking out grass in half of the area. Not sure why they would take out the grass, as now it is dirt/mud/sand, and your pups are SURE to need a bath once you leave. I will come back to this park because it is the closest one to my work, but other than that there is really no other reason for us to come here. We have driven past this park to go to Chaparral Dog Park because it is much nicer, although we would prefer to come to this one because of proximity. Oh well! read more

Took my shi tzu evan out for a night on the town. Long story short some asshole brought his wolf to the park and now I need a new best friend :/. Very dissapointed I will not be coming back. My kids have been crying for weeks I don't know how to comfort them. Evan the shi tzu was truly a part of the family and brought joy to our hearts. Not a bad park. Weirdly clique-y, with some strange people, but in general it is fine. In the summer with the dog water fountain, and the red dirt, your dog will be a mess so bring a towel for the car. Haven't seen any bad fights between dogs, but I have between owners. Again, some weird regulars. It is probably the best local option for your pup to stretch its legs, just keep the small talk to a minimum, keep an eye on your pup, and enjoy the sunshine. Also, Matt Damon frequents this dog park with his dog, Jack, when he is in town. Leave the man alone. read more

Nice park with some friendly people. All in all we had a blast. This is within walking distance from my apartment and the park itself is nestled behind an apartment complex. I appreciated the volume of people here and there were a lot of well mannered pups as well. Be prepared to come with some rough and tuff clothes because you WILL get dirty. This is a great dog park for locals. I've read about the dust concerns but most visitors don't realize that there is actually a dust control sprinkler that you can activate that sprinkles just enough water to keep the dust down but not cause dirty/muddy feet (human and K9)! There are two separate fenced areas but they seem to rotate and keep one open while the other recovers, grows grass, etc. There are the usual dog park dog behavior issues which are usually kept to a minimum. Overall even mix of large and small dogs. The human mix is also common. Almost everyone is friendly and sociable. Most are responsible about their pets behavior. There is a slight "Scottsdale" factor, but if you are going to this dog park then you're likely from Scottsdale and adjusted to that way of life and attitude. Overall a great thumbs up. Well maintained and convenient dog park with great dogs and great people. Only advice- avoid after substantial rain and storms - it will be muddy for a couple of days. read more

Great dog park. Lot's of friendly dogs and owners. I sometimes go early in the morning before the energy level of the park gets too high for my new rescue Joey. As a new family member, my dog needs training and some work on her social skills, and the regulars at Horizon have all been very patient with us. A nice little dog park that has benches, picnic tables, shade, and water. Most of the park is dirt with grass around the perimeter. I'd rather see the opposite, more grass than dirt. People don't seem to pick up after their dogs as I went around with the pooper scooper and picked up 3 large loads of waste without even trying. Several waste bins are provided with several pooper scoopers available for patrons. Waste bags are also provided near the entrances. Access is via double gates to keep dogs from escaping. I liked the bowls built into the ground that are fed with water bubbling up from below with which dogs can get a drink. read more

This park is nicely fenced in with a "sally port" (prison reference) type entry system... so dogs cannot accidental run out. My dogs love it here... I guess that's all that counts! :) It seems recently that they are trying to do some new improvement... its also really hot... so its hard to keep up the grass... especially with dogs running all over it. It's big enough for the dogs to have a blast... but not to big to keep on eye on things. I am honestly very particular on where I bring my dogs because of germs and aggressive behavior between dogs. Place is beautiful and clean. No bathrooms. Not all of the pens are open so that the grass can grow back. Benches and extra bags for your dogs business. Only downside is that now and then some one brings in there aggressive dogs, but that happens everywhere. So far meet some nice people who want to talk and honestly love other animals. Just make sure to put all your valuables away out of sight because its parking lot is located on the other side of the park. But nothing has happened to me. Just use common sense and bring your tennis balls and a dog. read more

This dog park SUCKS. I drive here every time it's always closed due to rain but it looks completely fine. Yes sometimes it's flooded but half the time it isn't at all. Such a waste of time. And the maintenance is twice a week for 3 hours which makes no sense it's all dirt! I wish I lived closer to a different dog park I'd never come here again read more

This is a good sized park in North Scottsdale that offers a little bit for everyone. I like the sand volleyball areas, its never too packed. The bball courts are well kept and I would definitely bring a dog here if I had one. The place has pretty good upkeep. read more

Now that they actually put fresh sod down and the park is half grass and dirt, rather than all dirt - I like this park! So nice to have a place for the pup to run and socialize that is close to home. It is a one-size fits all park so the big dogs and small dogs share the same space. There is some nice shaded seating for the parents, pooper scoopers to help when you need it, and a couple of dog (and human) drinking fountains. A lot smaller than Chapparal but I really liked it. The people weren't as talkative- you usually make day friends, but I could do without. Odin had a blast and that is the important thing. I would recommend bringing a toy though. There weren't a lot of people there at like 11am on a Saturday so the little guy looked a bit bored, but he ended up making dog friends. We used to go to this park, which is small and nasty but my dog loves it. Last year my dog contracted a horrible cough and there are many rescue groups that bring their dogs, which is fine but most of them are not neutered, which is against park rules. Horrible experience when my dog is running around having fun and some lady, sprayed my dog with something thinking my dog was going to attack, when he was just running and chasing dogs as they always do. This is a great little dog park, usually half the park is grass and the other half is dirt. Lots of people use this park so at any given time there should be plenty of pups for your pups to play with. It's also right next to Horizon Park, so there's lots of other stuff to walk around and see with your pups. read more

This is a great little park in North Scottsdale. I love it because it is so close to my house and during peak times there are some great dogs for Milly to play with. Two drawbacks of the park are that there are not any lights, and that it is half dirt, so humans and pups get very dirty. read more

This dog park is so close by and there are some great people and dogs that come here. My puppy has been coming here since she was 3 months (now 7 mo) and she has so much fun playing with the other puppies and dogs! We've had 2 bad experiences here with dogs getting a little rough but for the most part everyone watches their dogs and has good dog park etiquette!
