I don't deserve it A quite late afternoon with not so many clients, I came to pick up my glass. Welcome me is an unfriendly staff. Without saying hi or anything, she was just looking at me and wait for me to say. I told her I need to pick up my glass. She asked me for my name and order me to sit down. I then stepped to the administration desk to ask about an upcoming appointment. Few minutes later she came out and loudly demand me to come over her table. I politely said: "Give me a minute, I'm making an appointment." with a bullying and unpleasant tone, she order : "do this first and you can do that later." she actually brought back my memories when my mom ordered me around when I was a child. the administrator is also not pleasant either. I paid over $500 dollars for the glass And what did I do wrong to deserve this? disrespectful manner from staff who is unfairly rushing me around like that. I am 5-10 years older than most of them, even though I looks like 10 years younger than my age. doesn't matter how old customers are, where they are coming from. We should be treated fairly and respectfully. read more

Dr. Andrea Mazur was excellent. Just had my 6 month appointment 2/26/26. She is very nice and caring. She goes over everything with me and also listens to my questions and concerns. I've been going to Horizon Eye Care for many years. i do put off my appointment solely due to the wait time once in the exam room. Today was probably the longest and unexpected because it was actually appeared slow the reception area. I waited 1 hr in the exam room for the doctor. I even opened the door to get the attention of several employees eating, drinking, and singing. First ignored then told it will be a minute. Well, after 15 minutes for a total of 1 hour I had enough. I abruptly left and no one cared. I heard a farewell "have a nice day". No phone call to apologize or ask if I wanted to reschedule. Nothing, obviously my time is not important to Horizon. Late 1 hour for work and not paid. I'll never go back to this facility. read more

Margate office staff has rude customer service at front desk. I called twice to try to reschedule an appointment. The front desk person answered the phone and hung up. I thought maybe she couldn't hear me so I called back and again she hung up the phone. read more

Always have to wait until well past the agreed appointment time. Then after you finally get into a room get ready to wait for another 20 minutes. They also make me fill out the same exact multi page demographic sheet with the same exact information at every yearly visit. I found a new doctor. read more

I brought my daughter in for an exam, and we saw Dr. Doughten. The wait time was fine, and the doctor was very friendly to my family. The exam was the most thorough I have seen with my child, I was very impressed. read more

Very upset. We needed a Prescription for contacts, I was told we had to make an appointment for yearly check up. My daughter was told she can try contacts and see if she likes them they didn't say anything about charging for fitting. We already had contacts fitted before and payed for it twice. Then when my daughter was checking out the front desk she was asked what she was there for and my daughter told them what she had done. The lady at the front desk charged her for what she said and not even for her yearly exam. When I called back and spoke with Cindy she told me that a manager will get back to me. The next day still no call. When I called Cindy got smart with me because I wanted to speak with management there. And asked if I wanted to stay on hold till tomorrow because then is when someone will get back to me as that's when the doctor that saw her will be in. I told her what that has to do with this and I need to know what is the management name of front desk. She refused to give me the name of the manager and said someone will get back to me tomorrow. I am very upset. My daughter was not supposed to pay for anything and they got money from her. And no one is being respectful read more

The two stars is me being generous... Until I was around 20 back in 2015, I had been going to this place to get my annual eye check ups for about 8 years. I didn't have any problems with them then. However, when I turned 20, all of a sudden, the optometrist says I need to do additional tests like vision fields at least once every 3 months and they claimed it was to test and make sure I don't have "glaucoma"... (I think it was their way of saying, "we think you have glaucoma) Given my age at the time and lack of family history of being susceptible to having glaucoma, it's really unlikely that I would ever have glaucoma at that time as well as this time. Honestly, I can say that it's been over 4 years and I still very much don't have glaucoma and also am not required and definitely unnecessary to do these additional tests by my current optometrist. read more

I am posting this review for my mother, who had an extremely negative experience at Horizon Eye Care. After arriving at the office for a scheduled appointment (annual exam), she waited in the waiting room for almost two hours to be seen. Eventually she got up and left because she could not wait any longer. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, she rescheduled her appointment. When she went back, she again waiting for a ridiculous amount of time. Instead of leaving, she decided to go to the desk and ask what was taking so long. The customer service representative was extremely rude to her- something that did not make sense considering my mother's tone. All my mom was wondering was why schedule appointment times so early if you'd just have to wait for 2 hours. The rep said she was welcome to go somewhere else but it would be the same wherever she went. We actually ended up going to vision-works. No wait, no hassle. There is no reason to be rude to customers and long waits should be explained to those expected to wait. Your service isn't something impeccable or unique... plenty of other places to go for an eye exam. If anything we are just disappointed because we both have been customers at Horizon for many years. read more

The absolute worst experience I ever had in a doctors office. After being seen for the initial check up I was put in a room to wait for the doctor. After 30 min I asked if it would be much longer. I was told I would be moved to another room when one was available. I asked if I was next & told NO! No apology for the wait. Said I was leaving & assistant said fine! My time is too valuable & will be looking for a new eye doctor. I will let all my friends & family know to never go to Horizon - very poor customer service! read more

The eye exam was fine. I ordered glasses and they just aren't right. I cannot see correctly. $500 + for a pair of glasses and I am not happy. I have been wearing glasses a very long time, you just know when something isn't right. Went back and they were very helpful in dealing with my issue. Thank you. read more

Having been a patient at Horizon Eye Care for decades, I will not be returning. It took awhile to get an appointment. On my scheduled day, I arrived promptly for my appointment, but after waiting 40 minutes in the waiting room, I decided to let the reception desk know I was leaving. My time is valuable too. No one apologized for the long wait, and no one advised me why I still hadn't been called from the waiting area for my scheduled appointment. I guess a business as big as Horizon doesn't need my business. As a former small business owner myself, customer service should be a priority. read more

I have had nothing but an awesome experience at this eye dr office. Starting from the scheduler to the optical room...especially Theresa and Richard in the optical room. Thought I had lost my glasses and they both went above and beyond to assist me in obtaining another pair through my insurance and the insurance I purchased with the glasses. The time consuming efforts they put forth and the customer service they provided..not to mention Dr Mazur...who I love!! Makes me continue to be a patient within this establishment. The optical department is horrible . I have been back to correct my sunglasses and my regular glasses twice now. They are still not right. I am going again tomorrow to see if they can get it right this time. It has been 4 weeks now, each time I sent them back I had to wait two more weeks. So very frustrated!!!. I took my glasses to get new lenses and use the old frame the total cost was $346.00 . I paid them $200.00 and less than a week later I get a bill for the balance and I don't even have the glasses yet.. Bad Accounting Or bad business and this is my second bad experience with this company.. Look elsewhere for your glasses, bad business policies are just not good for business .. When it comes to the actual care of my eyes I give Jill Vivadeli 5 stars however this review isn't about her. In the past 2 years I have never had worse a experience with customer service than the front desk and surrounding phone staff within Horizon Eye. They are uninformed, unprofessional, rude, and simply put bad for business. It is truly ashame that they lack the freedom to make and schedule appointments without several permission seeking phone calls. They also lack the ability to answer calls to schedule appointments and then never return the phone messages left to schedule appointments. It makes sense why they need to be micromanaged but seems more that being replaced would be the proper solution. They do not have a sense of urgency when called to remedy a problem such as a patient saying they can't see out of their new lenses. Then they have the nerve to be nasty on the phone as if I was the problem. Two weeks later realizing they incorrectly ordered the appropriate script. I can't imagine they would be pleased if the shoe was on the other foot but didn't seem phased to make an effort to accommodate. For an office that is so large I can understand being lost in the shuffle but what I can't understand is poor customer service, horrendous people skills and lack of competence. I stay for OD Vivadeli but the minute she ever leaves I will not step another foot in Horizon Eye Care. read more

My son had a problem with his glasses where I thought he broke the arms from them being squished in his backpack. I took them in to the English Creek office, where Judy tried to fix them while I waited. She needed some more time, so she said she'd call me when she had them finished. They were ready quickly, and everyone I dealt with was attentive and kind. They have a big selection of glasses in this office as well. read more

Poor customer service. 1/2 hour delay in start of appointment. Doctor Vivadelli then stood in hall talking to contact lens sales rep. while I waited in room for 15 minutes listening to their conversation. I stepped into the hall to ask a nurse when the doctor will see me. The doctor turned and told me that she would see me in a minute. She turned and continued her conversation for another 5 minutes. When the Dr. Vivadelli finally came into see me, no apologies were given. The exam was performed and she directed pay on my way out. I was planning on buying two pairs of glasses that day. I picked up my prescription and left. I am never going back there. read more

I was looking at eye glass frames while waiting for my eye exam. One of the opticians offered to clean my regular and my sun glasses. She broke the frame of my eyeglasses and then blamed me for having damaged glasses in the first place. They offered to put my lens in another pair of frames but must charge me half of the price of the frame. When I expressed my shock of their lack of professionalism - they said it was my fault for allowing her to take them from me. I will never go back there again and I felt their business practices were extremely poor. In addition, I had to wait over 30 minutes to see the optometrist. read more

At first I was shocked to see the rating was so low.. I brought my daughter there one time and they were great with her... however i just called to ask them some questions and to make an appointment the the person on the phone messed so i was trying to figure out what she meant by repeating what she said only for her to get angry with me and ask "do you want to make an appointment??" Really ignorantly which is how I figured out she was really mad for some reason? Then I said "no I still dont understand what you mean....." however she hung up on me before I could even finish speaking?! Its ashame because from what I knew before the female dr there was amazing however its unfortunate the people at the desk are the face of your business read more

Poor customer service! I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam a month ago and when I went to the office, they said I wasn't scheduled at all and they were too busy to take me. My first experience at Horizon was great! I was immediately greeted by the secretary upon walking in and she got me signed in. The wait time was no less than 10 minutes before I got to see Dr. Shissias who was very knowledgeable and charismatic. I was there just for a checkup and to get contacts. Since this was my first time wearing them, I wasn't sure which ones I wanted to get so they let me try some samples so I could see how I liked them before deciding, which was great! This practice is absolutely horrible! I went there with a serious allergic reaction. My eyes were burning, itching, and weeping. The doctor was efficient and prescribed me a steroid drop. The following day, which was a Thursday, I went to my pharmacy to pick up the medication and was told that it needed a prior authorization and that they had faxed Horizon several hours earlier and received no response. I then called Horizon to inquire about the prior authorization and was told that it could not be done because the doctor who saw me was not working and the other doctor would not sign it. I have worked in the health care system for nearly ten years and have NEVER heard of a doctor refusing to sign a prior authorization for their colleague. The fact that this was happening made me question whether the doctors in this practice trust each other. When I questioned this the doctor working got on the phone and began yelling at me stating that she was busy with her own patients and could not help me. I was then told that a sample could be picked up to get me though the weekend and was hung up on! When I picked up the sample, my name was spelled completely wrong on the note that was attached to it and no instructions for the drops were attached. I will be going to urgent care as I do not trust the sample eye drops I was given and I will not put them in my eyes. Nor will I be calling them back asking for instructions or seeing them in the future. I will NEVER go to this practice again and if you care about who is caring for you, you won't either. read more
