Really good beer, friendly service and reasonable prices. The flatbread pizza is fantastic. They also have flavored seltzers if you are not into beer. The outside deck has a great view of the water.

Horn Run is a local sweet spot in the heart of Eastport. Having lived a number of years in Germany, and a lot of years down south, I'm a big fan of small breweries... y'all, I gotta say, the Horn Run has the best amber I think I've ever tasted: Ridge Road Red. It's superb! The milk stout is pretty darn tasty too. Throw in charming seaside ambiance, welcoming community vibes & neighborly warmth, and amazing craft brew... the Horn Run is a place I look forward to returning to.

    Awesome views!

Because we were on a time crunch, we told the woman out front that we had only about 1 hour and 10 minutes for the meal. She was extremely curt with us, but said that that time-frame would be fine. As soon as we got to the table, we ordered brussel sprouts, a caesar salad, a burger, and a pizza. We checked in multiple times with our server while we were waiting, but after 1 hour and 10 minutes, we still didn't have any of our food. We were also surrounded by empty tables, so it wasn't like the restaurant was overflowing with other customers. I don't blame our server: She was really sweet, and it seemed like she was doing her best to prompt the kitchen and get our food out. The kitchen must have just been really understaffed. We ended up asking for the food to go when we had to leave for the road, and after another ten-minute wait, our server ended up going into the kitchen herself to pack up and bring us the food because the kitchen just wasn't moving. We ended up having to eat the food splayed on our laps in the car, including while one of us was driving, which wasn't the best experience. The brussel sprouts were tasty, but the caesar salad was surprisingly small given the $12 price tag. And on top of it all, they gave us the wrong pizza. We've been to Mason's Brewer location too, and both times, the service has been spotty and the food has been astonishingly slow to come out. I definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you're on any kind of timeline!

We were seated within about 15 minutes of arriving around 6:50pm -- so far so good. But then it took 20 minutes just to be brought menus, another 15 minutes before anyone came back to take our drink order, and a further 20 minutes after that before our food order was finally taken. The food itself didn't arrive for another 30 minutes after that. By the time we'd eaten and left, it was 9pm -- over two hours for a fairly simple dinner. And after all that, the food was mediocre -- we paid around $50 for it. The one genuine positive was the view of the water, which was stunning. Lubec is a long way out of the way for most people -- the appeal is being the easternmost point in the US, with genuinely lovely scenery. But that's exactly what makes this frustrating: this restaurant knows most visitors are here once, won't be back, and have limited other options nearby. It's hard not to feel like that's being taken advantage of rather than earning the visit. Wouldn't rush back, and if I were traveling through again, I'd look elsewhere.

But then upon learning that it was replaced with wine (and not Sutter Home/Franzia/Night Train), my disappointment evaporated. Not what you'd expect to see in Machias (especially not for very long), where Natty Light and The Beast reign as the preferred beverages....but the owners aren't doing it to turn a profit, they're doing it for the love of it. We got to chat with them for a little bit and that was nice to learn. They have tons of wonderful wines from around the world here (even some from Virginia....wtf?) and my husband and I were able to satisfy our wine snobbery even in the outer reaches of downeast Maine during our stay thanks to these guys. They have a lovely Spanish grenache as well as a crisp Pouilly-Fuisse that we pretty much lived off of. In addition, they have lots of excellent specialty cheeses to offer, and will give you samples to try while you shop. Prices are basically what we're used to for California (the previous reviewer mentioned that they're probably a little steep for Machias and I'd have to agree) but definitely worth it when the next best shit in town is the Bogle available at Hannaford.

I've had many lobster rolls and this was def one of the best I've had. First of all it was huge. The lobster was in chunks it was not chopped up. It was perfectly seasoned with some mayo but not overpowering so you can truly savor the fresh lobster. It came with a bag of chips. To be honest I didn't care for them as the roll was the main event here. Initially I thought I couldn't finish it because it was so big but I was in lobster roll heaven and didn't stop eating until every bit of this lobster roll was gone. No regrets. Definitely the BEST lobster roll in Lubec. I have tried many and there is no doubt. After we ate we sat on one of the cute couches in the restaurant to have one drink and chat. Such a cozy vibe!
