Pro's: Walkway to the casino is nice and the Tunnel from the casino to the convention center was also appreciated. Overall it was a quiet hotel. Big room with nice storage space. Walking distance to the arch and Laclede's Landing. Big window. Ac worked well. Cons: No microwave. No in-room wifi. No laundry services. No restaurants except in the casino. Bathroom was small. The shower curtain rod was not hung properly so the shower curtain didn't stay closed. No hooks to hang thingsin the bathroom. My room had an iron but no ironing board. You have to ask 24 hours in advance if you want your room cleaned. Faint smoke smell but they tried to cover it up with cleaning products, so then it smelled like smokey soap. I couldn't find a drinking fountain or bottle filler.

We had such a fun time at the casino and even won a little bit of money. We loved our dealer at the blackjack table. She was super friendly and helpful with a person that is not super knowledgeable about the game. Had an excellent time!

We enjoyed our two night stay at Horseshoe. The room was nice and big. Fridge, wet bar and table are nice in the entrance room. Bathroom was a bit small and hallways had some weed smells, but otherwise good. Casino was big but had some issues. Not enough video poker for sure. Need some new video poker machines. Also, there is a nasty sewer smell that comes and goes near the video poker area and hallway to the hotel. Prices at the food choices around are too high, but food is decent. Some staff is nice, some are not. Overall the place is good if you keep low expectations. Gambled for two days and never had a drink server come by, but there is a soda machine and some bars around.

The question it wants me to answer. Here is what what could improve at the horseshoe casino? There is a long list of very concerning problems I will not get into. I will just shorten the list and let everyone know it sucks. Dick and it doesn't even do that right it is the closest casino to my home and me and my husband drive 35 minutes out of the way plus just to go somewhere better they have horrible customer service if you play slot machine, you're walking out broke when you leave there you owe the casino money my recommendation to you is if you're there or thinking about going there, kick it out of your brain, lose it drop it go to River city Ameristsr , Hollywood, or my favorite Argosy!

This review is for Horseshoe Casino as well at HoteLumiere at the Arch since they are one property. The ratings seem low here, but alot of the reviews date back to when it was another property. I gave it a chance because I am a Caesars Rewards member and I try and accumulate my points at any of their properties for comps later down the line. Booking was easy and the pricing was really good considering we were just a few blocks from the Arch and had a view of the Mississippi River from our room. We ran a little late coming into town so I called ahead to tell them I still plan on checking in. Customer service was outstanding from that call, to check in and throughout our stay. Faith was the first person we encountered checking in and she was such a gem. Her customer service skills were top notch as she told us great food recs as well as info on cool places in town. Give this lady a raise Caesars! The hotel is large with a beautiful lobby with a fountain. There is a bar in the lobby but we never saw it open on our stay. All the rooms have a view of the lobby no matter what floor you are on. There are two sets of elevators, but only one set was working. The pool was empty and seemed to have some work being done on it, so my speedo never made an appearance. Their loss. The rooms were nice and spacious. They have a living area with a couch, a table, a wet bar and a TV. The bedroom was large with comfortable beds, large TV and a safe as well. The bathroom was spacious with a large walk in shower. It did seem understocked but after a call, we quickly got everything we needed. The door also did not lock on the bathroom like it should have, but it wasn't a problem worth changing rooms for. The casino isn't in the same building as the hotel, but it's just a short walk over a sky bridge. I scoped out the casino the first night just to get a lay of the land. It has everything you would expect in a Caesars properties such as a nice steakhouse as well as other small eateries and shops. We did no partake in any of the dining or shopping but we did hit up the casino. It is not large but has all the familiar slot machines as well as a decent size table game area. The table limits vary with the lowest being friendly compared to Vegas or such. My son and nephew were interested in learning blackjack, so I was able to teach them on a lower limit table. The gaming staff was friendly and we had a good time in there. The only negative in there was the table games were closed early in the morning which is when I like to hit the tables up with some coffee. Overall, I really liked this place and would come back if in the area!

I would leave no stars if I could. My fiancée and I came out to St Louis for an event with a bunch of friends. Because this hotel was convenient for us we decided to stay here. The pictures looked good and it was in walking distance of a lot of places around the area. DO NOT BE DECEIVED! When we first walked in we thought "this place is nice". We paid 600 dollars for two nights and it wasn't until we fully settled into our rooms until we realized it was NOT worth it. The bar wasn't open, pool wasn't open and no restaurant in the hotel. There is no microwave in the room so don't plan on bringing left overs back. There was a pubic hair stuck to the wall in the bathroom and the shower doesn't work. When we called down to the front desk to ask for help, not only were we met with rude staff who appeared like they get complaints a lot, but we had to wait over 30 minutes for someone to come to the room to attempt to fix the shower. Our shower was finally fixed, but we received no compensation for the inconvenience. Do not stay here. You will be extremely disappointed and it's NOT worth the price at all!

This casino is the center to the destination attraction campus anchored with two hotel on each end. The casino is small but it has a theater, restaurants, shops and a Morton's steakhouse with a fabulous bar. Honestly I was tired from all the day's activity and the driving so I didn't wager in the casino but I didn't want to go back out to a restaurant for dinner so I went to the Riverfront grill and I got a cheesesteak with seasoned frys to take back to my room which was actually better than average for fast food. Even though I didn't engage the casino the support options came in handy with an easy room walk to dinner for a tired traveler.

Actually this is a casino .not a hotel, not a homeless camp this is a CASINO you can win alot of money or lose depending upon where or what game you play the staff are very nice

    Wet bar

We frequent casino all over the US we had not been to St. Louis and wanted to visit since I am a rewards member. The fee for the room was ok but not fully comp. The lobby is very promising but hate they don't have valet have to park and walk to hotel and the carts are very outdated. The rooms are super outdated bad. Mad I actually paid for this. First thing coming in elevators do not work correctly. Will update once visit actually casino

We wrapped up our informal wander through the fabulous Delmar Loop and drifted up here for a final drink, a skyline check and that signature rotating oversized Moon glowing over the building. By pure luck, it was a full moon over Saint Louis too which felt a little on the nose in the best possible way. The rooftop is solid, a clear arc of the city that makes you slow down to appreciate the view. The space itself is exactly what you want at the end of the night. Open, relaxed and elevated enough to feel like a finale without trying too hard. The music was much louder than I'd prefer and not an artist I'd ever queue up for a mellow nightcap and it did sort of get in the way of the vibe. The kitchen had already closed, which killed the idea of a final nibble with our round of drinks. The bartender did offer the workaround of having DoorDash delivered to the bar but we weren't going to hang around that long. The Old Fashioned he put together was excellent, balanced and smooth. Just what I needed as my Fitbit clocked over 10k steps. As a final stop on a Loop night, the Moonrise works beautifully. You get the view of downtown Saint Louis in the distance, the atmosphere, the giant Moon doing its thing and a comfortable landing spot before calling it a night. I even got to watch my Royals (that's right STL, my ROYALS) win game 6 of the World Series in resounding fashion up on the rooftop here. Good times. A dozen or so years later, feeling nostalgic, and having struck out on some downtown STL hotels, I opted to come back here. Unlike my Royals, this place has still got it. Friendly staff upon check-in, and they let me know they don't have valet which I was honestly relieved about. When I'm traveling solo, I sort of just want access to my car, not to have to wait 15 minutes to go to the trouble of retrieving a phone charger out of my console. There is a little lot in the back that they'll check if you're a guest before allowing you in during busy periods. The room was nice, and the elevators are quick. The shower pressure is WAY better than I remember, at least it was on the third floor. The bed was insanely comfortable, and really, no complaints. The one issue was the little room couch was filthy in my room, with visible stains and grossness.. I just avoided it during my stay. The rest of the room was clean. No hotel gym that I noticed, but not far from Forest Park if you want to jog or walk (beware the insane STL drivers). I also took my takeout dinner to the rooftop which was nice, but not yet open for the season. I still appreciate them letting me up there for some fresh air and views. Lastly, the Delmar Loop has quite a bit! This area offers good coffee shops, a store, tons of quality restaurants, and all within walking distance. Nice place overall, and definitely in my consideration every time I come to STL.

There is a $10/night fee for self/ parking, which is a bit odd. There are spaces right outside the hotel or in lot just behind it. I will say that I was unaware of the fee for parking (I just happened to hear someone at the front desk telling a guest about it). I always check-in through the app, so I often don't come in contact with the front desk staff. Once I overheard that conversation, I called the front desk from my room and the parking fee was confirmed. I had to give them a description of my vehicle and I the state of registration. Makes me wonder if I would have been ticketed or towed if I didn't learn of the parking situation. There should be signs or a note in the app notifying guests about your parking. That is my only complaint. Rooms were fine, the free breakfast was standard for a Hampton Inn. Worth noting: there was no closet in my room. I found this to be very odd. There was a full length mirror bolted over what appeared to have once been a closet. Luckily I didn't need to hang any clothes, but that was really odd to me.

Thanks also to Josh Garrett, who answered our questions about the area; Jay, who took care of the laundry and made sure all the common areas were fresh and tidy; and all the ladies in the breakfast room! They started our morning out on a high note with the sunshine they carried with them. The breakfasts were always tasty and filling every morning, and we really appreciate breakfast on-site that was included in our stay! It was so convenient to have our first meal there before we ventured out into the city each day. Having hot items as well as the usual fruits, pastries, waffles and cereal was very nice. We also appreciated having the coffee and tea bar open 24 hours a day. The rooms are fairly well-insulated. We heard minimal noise in the hallways and none from outside the hotel, despite the proximity of I-64 (just one block away). The location of the Hampton is ideal for those visiting Forest Park and its environs. The Park is just 5 minutes away by car, and the Science Center is just down the street. St Louis Community College is across the street, so the area is generally quiet. There are restaurants and gas stations about a half-mile away, and grocery stores are 10 minutes away by car. Downtown is 10 -15 minutes away, depending on traffic. The few less-than-stellar items we encountered were the mattresses, which were somewhat lumpy; the bed and bath linens, which were somewhat worn; and our room wall thermostat, which seemed incapable of keeping a steady temperature. These would be fairly easy issues to address and bring the hotel's rating to a solid 5 stars for me. Overall, many thanks to the Hampton Inn at Forest Park for a lovely stay in Saint Louis!

While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold.
