I get it, you don't have much foot traffic but a dog just doesn't belong in the public part of a business. Granted, it was a tiny, extremely quiet and well behaved dog who went immediately to sleep. But I haven't brought my daughter back here because she has such severe dog allergies. Please keep the dog in the office part! I do plan a return visit and sure hope there aren't any dogs to greet me, no matter how cute and well behaved they are.

It's a small place, though, so while you can get lost for hours in the Darvin superstore in OP, you really won't wander for more than 20 minutes or so in here. Because the store is small, their selection is pretty limited. However, they can order almost anything for you from their catalogs. If you're like me, that's only a slight PITA because I prefer to see and touch potential purchases before buying them. We ordered some chairs for our kitchen table through their catalogs and they arrived in about a week and were excellent quality. I do prefer to see and touch things, but in that instance it worked out for us. We also ordered a new mattress from this store and it was a lot cheaper than going to the mattress store further down Archer. They chopped off the price because we were "repeat customers", so they got it as low as they could for us. The store's interior is a little...dated. Some of the furniture that's on display screams late 1980s. Definitely reminds me of Clark Griswold's neighbors Todd & Margo, if you catch my drift. My husband and I couldn't stop laughing at the lamps on display, especially. Some of them were just plain weird looking. It seems counterproductive. For a furniture store that's been in business for 30+ years in the same location, they've clearly built up a decent neighborhood reputation. It's a little weird to walk in and see couches on display that are 20 years old (or at least look like it). Why don't they rotate their display to keep things fresh and keep new customers coming in? I have a feeling they rely quite a bit on repeat business. The exterior of the store looks a little industrial, but the window displays kill me. Plastic Betty Boops and Tweety Birds stand at attention, asking you to come in and drop good money on their merchandise. The first time I walked in I almost turned around and walked back out. Tweety was an effective spokesperson in 1994, notsomuch these days. Plus they're faded and they look a little dusty and beat up. Retire the darn things already! Pretty much everything you order here needs about a week to be delivered, so if you're ordering a new couch before your family Christmas party get in there and do it early. Delivery is free for every item--major bonus if you ask me. They won't haul away your old items, but they'll take them out to the trash for you. Decent service, decent prices. Good quality stuff, so they're not lying! For better selection hit up a larger showroom, but if you're not too picky and want to support the local guys, this is the place.

We are currently looking to replace our couch & that's why I checked in here, to see if the store was still there. I now live an hour away but am still willing to travel back to revisit this store.
