I would never recommend this company. We hired them to finish our basement and upgrade our…read morestairwell and they did a terrible job. among other things, they framed a doorway but left 8" shims on the inside which support it, they trimmed a stairwell but it's not level nor did they finish a bottom edge, the baseboards don't meet at the corners/edges, a scuttle doorway was finished on the outside sans door knobs but it's all raw edged drywall on the inside, they hung doors but didn't provide door knobs, etc., etc. In addition, they didn't come prepared and had no idea what was going on when they got here. If I had more energy and time, I should have sued them. Instead I'm writing this post so you don't make the same mistake we did. The landscaping in the front of our town home building hadn't been touched in several years. Weeds…read moreand overgrowth were everywhere, it was a mess. We contacted Design Concepts to come to the rescue. Within a couple hours, we had a callback from Dave. We scheduled a site visit and were impressed enough to move forward with a design. Dave came out a couple days later with a beautiful color drawing that detailed all of our possible options, presented an itemized quote of all the work that would be involved, and gave us a list of 15 references we could call on for peace of mind. We presented this to our town home association board and they were so impressed that they decided we should do the courtyard as well. We signed the paperwork and a few days later Dave and his crew were cleaning up all the weeds, removing overgrown trees and bushes, and trimming trees. Then they installed a beautiful stone walkway, fertilizers, mulch, a wonderful assortment of plants and bushes in the front and flowers in the courtyard. They cleaned up everything and provided us with watering instructions and plans to add to our design for next year. Its difficult to please all members of a town home or condo association but Dave and Design Concepts did the job. We plan on using them for many years for all of our landscaping needs. We also found out they do more than just landscaping and have already begun plans to have them work on the interior of our house. From talking with they're references, this quality of work is par for course in everything they do.

Our association had a tight budget and he worked with us to create a very nice and sturdy arrangement that would hold up to all the foot traffic that passes by. Dave and his team worked hard to fix up the beds and used a nice variety of plants; they now look fantastic! After he was done installing, Dave discussed with me the types of plants used, provided watering instructions and recommendations for maintenance in the fall. After working with Dave it is clear that he is very detailed oriented, has a good eye for design, and is very passionate about the work is company does. I would highly recommend Design Concepts for their professional and efficient customer service and the high quality and beauty of their work. I was referred to Greg for a smaller tile job in my basement. He came out same day (1/12), super…read morenice guy, very complimentary, seemed honest and genuine. He quoted it, told me a timeline and what he would need. I told him I wanted to be sure I could get the tile (I was matching installed 7 years before) before I committed. I got the tile and reached out on 1/14 to tell him to book it. On 1/17 he responded to me with "sure". I told him tile arrived on 1/20 and when he could schedule. He asked for my address. Nothing until I called him today and he said that he had 4 big jobs to finish and I would have to wait after those. When I said, sure, just tell me when, he said "do you want me to find you a guy?" And I said, "well didn't you just say you would do it after your jobs? Do you want to do it?" and he finally said no and then said "well had you committed that day I could have done it". I get it. It's a smaller job and I would have been totally fine had he told me no at the outset. Instead, he quoted me, kept going back and forth with me, and then just couldn't even tell me the truth until I straight up asked him. As a business owner I believe that how people handle small matters, they will probably handle large matters in the same way. I have no doubt that if you have a perfect project and everything is going great, then Greg is your guy. I would be concerned if there was an issue. I lost more than 2 weeks on looking for another contractor because Greg couldn't be honest and tell me he didn't want to do the job.
