Oh wow, we stopped into this Indian Bakery on the way home and bought a few of their pastries: Their Black Forrest Cake is amazing. Light and not too sweet, just perfect. Their Tiramisu is equally delicious, and I loved their Mango Cake made with Indian Mangos! We bought some Samosas, and I also loved them; they were full of curried flavor and spicy, and the dough was soft. Tasty. I have a Goat Pastry made with lamb to try tomorrow, and I can't wait; I am sure it will be delicious. Their food menu is also extensive, and everything is reasonably priced. You can feed your family well here, with quality and tasty food. Perfect! We will be back soon. This bakery and deli is under new ownership, and I highly recommend you try the place out. read more

Looked just like the HotBreads from Chennai (Taste,ambience, cleanliness) I got the Tomato Uthappam and it was really good. Loved the Sambar and chutney. Paani poori was cold and lacked authenticity. I stopped in yesterday and ordered the paneer tiki masala w/naan and it was excellent. The flavor and the spice was just so delicious and great value for the price. The naan has a nice light crisp and flavor to it. I will be there again soon! read more

I had NO idea that there was an Indian Bakery/place that sold incredible Indian street food. I got the Samosa Chaat and LOVED it. The two men who worked there were extremely kind and welcoming to us. It just made me feel right at home. My only feedback would be for them to make the place more inviting, market better so more people know about this place, and keep making fresh amazing food! Hot breads....where Indian food gives a kiss on the cheek to an American bakery! I'm very fond of this coupling. While seeking veg food in F-ham, I discovered this place via Yelp and was delighted to try 3 different varieties of veg breads (less than $6), all of them delicious and huge! Puffs, buns, mini pizzas, rolls, croissants filled with very tasty, spiced (not spicy!) sauces and stews.They also have piles of cookies, plum bread, cakes and other treats. This is a small spot that packs in a lot of options and a lot of flavor, plus friendly service and really good prices! The name is a bit of a misnomer because the treats are not served warm and they are not super spicy. I warmed mine up for a few seconds and the flavors came alive! "Fresh" is not a word that would use to describe the food. From the take-out menu, it appears they have a larger restaurant in Woburn. So the non-pastry lunch and dinner items are brought over from that location. I'd like to try one of the dozens of veg options next time, but it wasn't that clear which dishes are available for daily specials. How have I not reviewed Hot Breads? I've been coming here off and on for years. I have never had any of the meals they offer as heat and serve, but I've had so many pastries filled with curries and chicken tikka and even goat. Oh so good. Why, just this morning I enjoyed a chicken tikka croissant and some lemon tea (my own) for breakfast. Tomorrow I will have a delightful veggie puff. When I'm here, I stock up on pastries that become meals (usually breakfast) and some chapati to go with my own homemade curries. Don't be afraid to buy more than you can eat in a sitting or two, it's all freezes pretty well. Sadly, out of the 8 pastries I bought yesterday (for like $20) I only got two because I shared with friends. ::sigh:: I must learn to be more selfish in the future. Also, the guys behind the counter are friendly and helpful. The place is tiny, but you can eat lunch there if you desire as there are a few tables (just note no bathroom), but, really, takeout is the way to go. read more

Picked up a couple of vegan snacks to munch in while running errands in town. They have many items made without eggs, vegetarian selections and a few vegan treats. Yummy! One word: Wow! In a short visit, I have eaten at this place at least 5 times! What's good: Masala Dosa, Samosa, Dabeli What's great: Mysore Masala Dosa, Chicken Biryani (especially because this is REAL biryani where the rice is layered along with the chicken cooked in hot spices. Other big restaurants pass off chicken pulao as biryani but these guys were super authentic! Kudos!), Jalebi, Madras Coffee (reminded me of filter kappi, bliss!) I also had the vada pav and the veg puff. The vada pav was nice but lacked the authentic flavor while personally, I found the veg puff to be too buttery. Be prepared to wait a while in the evenings since I have always seen them busy. Best to get a take-away since seating is limited. Some main dishes are prepared in their main Woburn location and later transported here but it makes no difference to the flavor of the food. We are living in the Framingham area for over an year now but never got a chance to try 'hot breads'. My husband and I decided to just go and see and try things for experiment. We ordered vada pao, pao bhaji, bhel puri and samosa. Out of all 4 things, we simply loved pao bhaji. It has a creamy and spicy texture that your taste bud would love (if you are a spice lover) The vada inside the vada pao was not crispy, and it totally spoiled the dish. Bhel puri had a different taste of what I cook at home but it just tasted fine. Samosa was cold when they packed for us so a big no-no. If you want to try Indian snack- try their almond or pista biscuits. Experience- 6 Taste- 5 Recommend- 6 for one tjme try and for biscuits and pastries. (Pao bhaji for spice lovers) read more

Ahhh ... Hot Breads, how I crave you soo much. Even if I just tasted you, yesterday, was it??? ... I don't know... time away from you flies so fast. I have never been to hot breads and not enjoyed the tasty treats, even if I was there a day ago. Most of their pastries are light and stuffed with a spicy version of paneer( indian cheese), chicken, Kheema(goat meat) or mixed vegetables. You might be scared to try the Kheema, but let me assure you it taste like taco meat, but way more flavorful, I highly recommend it. For the non-adventurous, go with the Chicken, you won't be disappointed. The also have grilled sandwiches, like a chicken panini, toasted bread with a spicy cilantro chutney spread and spiced chicken. Vegetarians rejoyce, this is one place that has unlimited options for you, try anything from the Dabeli, (Indian style potato burger topped with peanuts, sans lettuce and tomato, and their hot chutney spread). Their Pav Bhaji ( spicy vegetable stew with potato'd and peas, and freshly baked bread, toasted, to dip in) is another staple we always get there. I am a big fan of the mutton biryani. They do not make it from scatch, as soon as you order, but rather microwave it in front of you ( remember, they are not a restaurant, but a bakery). But I don't mind it one bit, because it taste just as good, and I can just top of the left overs for later. Don't forget to get some raita( cool cucumber salad) to cool off you palate, if it gets to hot for you. Their currys are good too, I've tried the chicken curry, rich and flavorful, did I mention spicy?...Get some of their quick friend flat breads, called Chapati's, great to go along with your curry. There is a huge selection of drinks in the cooler, the mango frooti is my favorite on a hot day. Thumbs Up is an Indian coke, with a kick to it. I haven't figured out what it is, it is just DIFFERENT .Limca is the equivalent of lemonade. Don't miss out on the coconut juice for something different. If its a cold day, ORDER THE COFFEE, its probably something you didn't expect. Its is frothed like a cappucino with a hint of spice, really really good. I dare not forget dessert, after all they are a bakery. Their black forest, is a chocolate cake layered with cream, coated with dark chocolate and cherries, a must try. They also have mango, strawberry and mixed fruit pasteries ... hmmmmmmmm.....They make the black forest 'eggless' for the vegans out there. I haven't tasted any of their cookies, but if they are anything like the rest of the restaurant, they will be awesome and indian inspired. There is no restroom on site, and though you can easily eat there, I rather take it home, to my couch... but that is just me. Off late ... The quality of the food is not maintained consistently. There is a probable chance of food poising.. The pav bhaji .. Bhaji is pre cooked and stored in the fridge.. On order they just heat up.. Same with the chicken in the chicken panini.. And same applies for chicken biryani as well .. Although most of the times the food gives a good fragrance on reheat .. It depends on our fate that day about the taste... It may cause serious food poising.. The reason being they do the marination of chicken for 1-2 days and then cook the next day pack and store in fridge..so the chicken you are eating might be 6-7 days old un hyginely cooked. read more

Stopped by here last weekend on a cold day. The place is fairly small, just a few tables to sit. The food is awesome. We ordered the veggie panini, dabeli, bhelpuri and ordered black forest and pumpkin cake. The food came out pretty quickly and was very tasty. The dabeli could have used some pomegranate seeds. Thats the min I could give on yelp - actually it doesn't even deserve one star! I've lived on east coast forever and have been to hot breads in different states. After we moved to Framingham, we were happy that there was a hot breads nearby. First time we went there, my wife had vada pav and immediately after she was sick eating that. We stopped going there to eat Indian dishes, ever since. We used to go there only to pick up their bakery stuff. Recently, when one of our family member went there to purchase just one of the bakery items (not to dine in), one of the guys asked us upfront for tip. When we told them, we didn't even eat or drink anything, why they need tip, he still insisted for it, which we thought was rude. In short, you may try out the place, if you are desperate for Indian food and don't mind average food and pathetic behavior from employees there. read more

I pulled into a space marked for this business and was subsequently yelled at by two very irate and nasty men who were bringing the bread to the bakery to open it. Apparently the designated parking place is for the owner and not the customer, although there was no sign to this effect. Ordered masala dosa. The dosa itself was good, accompanying sambar was not the most flavorful but decent. The filling however was not impressive at all. I found the flavor profile was overly spicy (and I love my spicy food). So I had to order a mango lassi to cool things down and that was delicious. We also ordered a paneer bun & a veg puff - both were disappointing. Finally, the place is actually quite gross inside...just look at the light switch! The tables, chairs, walls, everything could use a good cleaning.
