I love their food--the Kebapche. Delicious! Bittersweet because they just announced on IG that they are ceasing their food truck operation. However, it looks like they are doing private catering, etc. Excited to see what's to come. Good luck to them.

When I came here with my friends last time, I remember having a good experience so decided to pay them another visit. Their menu looked smaller with different items this time around. I saw a lot of people ordering the Yogurt Marinated Chicken ($17.00 + tax), so I decided to order that. +Even though the grilled Mary's Chicken looked dry, it was moist and juicy. Never thought of yogurt as a marinade, but hey it works! +Organic spring mix salad was fresh and lightly dressed w/vinaigrette. +Lutenitsa, a Bulgarian spread made with roasted red peppers and other veggies, was flavorful and not spicy. -Chicken was burnt in a lot of parts: Seems like it was left too long on the grill -Herb polenta cake was soft, but bland. Other items I tried during my last visit: +Black Sea Fisherman's Stew +Baklava Side notes: 1.) Check the Presidio's website for their schedule: https://presidio.gov/explore/park-attractions/presidio-pop-up-schedule 2.) Enjoy your meal on the picnic tables or lawn. 3.) Paid parking lots: Bring coins b/c there's a surcharge for credit cards. *Verdict: If the chicken wasn't burnt, it would have been a winner winner chicken dinner.

However, here on Treasure Island, attendees get the unique opportunity to enjoy gorgeous views looking over the water and the cityscape as an alluring backdrop. This past Saturday, I certainly appreciated the carefree and inviting atmosphere filled with joyful families, dogs on leashes, kite flying, and admiration of Ned Kahn's "Canopy of Sky" artwork on site. Also, an amazing band delighted guests with their walking musical performance on the trombone, drums, baritone sax, and sousaphone, marching through the crowd before setting up on stage to play more great tunes including Danza Kuduro and Stevie Wonder's Isn't She Lovely. And of course, there was no shortage of food vendors to choose from to grab a tasty meal, from Asian bbq to appetizing Italian bites. I snacked on some yummy pastries from AyDea's Tatarstan food truck and crispy chicken & veggie potstickers from Bombzies. Beer and cocktails were available too. With entertaining live music, good eats, a safe and friendly environment, and free admission, this was a great experience altogether. What's more, there was no traffic on the drive over, as well as easy parking just steps away from the event.

I had never attended a dragon boat race before, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. What I was envisioning originally was several teams lined up together at a start line, and competing for a good length of the entire lake. What we got instead was about 6 teams lined up at a time, who would race down a very short stretch of the lake and finish in about a min, before they turned around and docked to make room for the next group of 6. While the minute of racing was pretty exciting, it was too short lived for the 10mins of prep time it takes for the next team to get into place. In addition to the race itself, there are live performances here from a variety of local talent, as well as a small handful of vendors. While it is always fun to browse the vendors, there weren't very many in attendance so the selection was easily browsed through from 5mins of walking. The lake itself is beautiful and worth walking around after checking out the festivities. Porta-potties are also available aplenty and school buses are available every 5mins to shuttle people from the corner of Webster and 21st to the festival grounds and back, which makes commuting from BART a breeze. Not a bad way to spend an hr of your day, but I wouldn't recommend commuting from far away to attend otherwise.

First thiing I noticed was the entrance fee.. it increased from $3 to $15, with an early bird rate of $10. Getting there was a easy, and there was plenty of parking available. As soon as we stepped into the festival, we were welcomed by live entertainment and a diverse array of vendors. Compared to my last visit in 2014, there seemed to be fewer antiques and flea market finds, with more focus on small-owned businesses instead. The variety of food trucks and seating areas made for a pleasant dining experience. We enjoyed soaking in the views and all the unique offerings from the vendors. Pet-friendly - make sure your pet is on a leash at all times. My favorite part of this event is seeing all of the cute doggies. Some are dressed up in hats, sunnies, clothes some may have gotten from vendors at the event. Each month, the selection of vendors do change -- you might see the same ones always coming back while others might not return or be back other months. It's helpful if you maybe have a cart with you -- only if you're the type of person who plans to find a lot or larger items. The vendors for the most part are placed in sections based on what they're selling. There is a food court where there are food trucks and booths selling drinks and snacks. Picnic tables, live music, entertainment for kids -- outdoor games like chess, bean bag toss, connect four, jenga, legos, hula hoops, etc.

Treasure Island Music Festival is one of my favorite music festivals. I've been most years. I think…read moreI've only missed 3 or maybe 4 years. I really like the stage layout. There's only two stages in an L shape, and the schedule alternates between each stage, so there's only one band playing at a time. This is fantastic because this is one music festival where you can actually see every band on the lineup! The festival is two days long, with Saturday usually featuring hip hop and/or electronic acts, and Sunday featuring rock and indie acts. When this festival was on Treasure Island, getting into and off the island was sort of difficult. One aspect of this festival is there's always free shuttles that take you to the festival. The same is still true now that's it's moved to West Oakland; however it's a bit easier now since the shuttles pick up and drop off at BART. For those in the East Bay, you save yourself the bridge toll if you're driving now. Getting there is always easy since people arrive at different times, so there's never a wait to get on the shuttle bus; however, getting home is annoying because you will have to wait to load the busses. In 2018, the first year in Oakland, I think they handled it pretty well. There were a ton of buses, so we didn't have to wait long at all. Instead of one line, there were several lines for the buses, so this sped things up too. I like that festival feels smaller and more intimate. Previously, you could stand in between the stages and see and listen to all the bands. However, at the new location in Oakland, the stages are much further away unfortunately, so you will have to trek between the stages and move between them to see and hear all the acts. One of the nicest features of the festival is the gorgeous views on SF. Don't miss sunset for amazing views. I also love the surprise touches too like the light up jellyfish the come through the crowd and the massive light up balloon arches. TIP: Also, be sure to bring layers. Your cute festival look will feel foolish once the sun goes down when it turns downright chilly.

I know that this event is usually more organized and rain is hard to plan around, but it's just sad a few acts were cancelled. Ran by Another Planet Entertainment Music, treasure island has a great amount of acts and a good amount of food trucks. With the bay bridge in the background and a colorful Ferris wheel, the festival offered beautiful skyline photos! It's very sad that this music festival had to end on a rainy note, but at least they won't lose business next year because there will be none next year! Will miss you TIMF!
