Upon walking in I was greeted I immediately noticed how nice and well put together this place was to be so small! It soon became crowded as I stood waiting for my food. So many ways to enjoy your hot dogs. There is seating but it's very small and a little space outside to eat. I order the Chicago Dog with their fries and a Coke Zero. Now let's talk about this hotdog! Words can't express how my taste buds are jumping up and down with excitement of how good this is and all the ingredients are fresh. The fries perfection! Just opened less than three weeks ago, so it's in the soft opening phase so they do not have everything setup yet. The lights outside the door were still be installed and the chairs being built. The owner? was friendly explained the concept. Menu has many options so it was hard to make decisions. Went with the Chicago's Finest and Fresh Prince Chicken Philly. Best part of the meal was the fries! Had a nice crisp with a garlicky seasoning. Since they were still in a soft opening mode, it was a bit longer than I liked for wait times but the food was good. This is a good place for hot dogs and fries, but be prepared to wait. We went on a Friday evening. We saw that the tables were full, so we figured we'd order food to go, and we hoped that the wait would be similar to what other yelpers experienced, 20-30 minutes. The owner told us he was busy, but he did not give us an estimate for how long until the food would be ready. We ordered: two milkshakes, 4 hot dogs, 2 orders of fries, and one philly cheesesteak. As it turned out, it was 55 minutes for the food to be done. Thankfully, a table opened up so we could sit, and also, the other waiting customers were friendly. The food was good. I had the kraut dog, and they were generous with the toppings. The bun was nicely steamed. The hot dog was of good quality. The french fries were delicious and crispy. The milkshakes were good, although they are flavored by syrups, not all by fresh fruits (but the ice cream is Blue Bell and hand scooped). The owner is very nice, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars despite waiting nearly an hour for a hot dog meal and paying the same amount that I'd pay for a sit down restaurant. read more

Tried this place out a little while back and we weren't disappointed! We decided to customize our orders, and the lady at the counter very diligently put everything in and triple-checked it. We waited about 15- 20 minutes for our food to come out, but we could see it being made in the kitchen. There's a good amount of seating inside, so we didn't mind waiting. The dogs were delicious! I felt that my grilled onion and red peppers were a little greasy, but I was still very happy with my picks. Fries were great! They had me at Kind and Friendly and I had not even tried the food. I have been in Florida since 2000 best hot dog I have had since I have been down here, they have open less than a month. I happened to stubble across HDG while I was on the south side. I'm glad I decided to stop on in. It's a very small place with about 3 or 4 tables and a place to sit outside if you choose to. The owner was very nice as he was the only one working at the time. It did get a little busy, but he communicated with the customers to let them know that he would be with them shortly. Now, the food! If you like hotdogs and a variety of them, you will like it. He has a nice menu that you could choose from. From hot dogs, cheesesteaks and sausages. Oh and milkshakes! I ordered the bacon cheese dog add onions, may all time favorite dog. I was so excited the bacon cheddar sauce was on the menu because it's not easy to find or get other places to do without a lot of up charges. Imagine my surprise when I bit into my dog to discover it was topped with cheese sauce onions and...mustard! No bacon on it at all. This makes me concerned about ever going back. I don't like having to open the order on the counter to assure I got what I paid for but I despise getting something so disappointingly wrong I consider throwing it away and having yogurt for dinner instead. Also as a person allergic to tomatoes I don't want to risk taking home an item I can't eat because it will hurt me. I think attention to detail for a takeout place is essential. They had very little guests ordering in front so there seemed to be no hustle. I won't ever go back as their prices are pretty high for the simple and flavorless ingredients.
