I think the portions were small compared to other Hot Heads I have visited, being that I was super hungry this was disappointing. I did get a bowl with chicken and it was yummy. Increase the portion size and a 5 is in your future. read more

If I could give a 0 I would, I've been here multiple times and they give you absolutely no food for about 15 dollars. They won't even give you a full scoop of anything, my server picked up a scoop of beans and purposely dropped more than half of the spoon back into the container. I ordered a little bowl and my food didn't even touch the sides of the container with how little was given. I was charged for double meet when the first portion was only a small pinch. I'm moving to MN and stopped in Perrysburg overnight and wanted something quick and inexpensive to eat. Since I had been driving all day I figured delivery would be my best bet. Overall the food was good but it took an hour and 15 minutes to get delivered when my estimated time was 45 min. I called the restaurant to inquire and apparently they had run out of queso and needed to make more so my order was delayed. By the time my food came my burrito was cold, but of course the queso was hot because they just made it. I was annoyed but since it still tasted okay I didn't complain. Also I thought it was strange how they packed their chips. Instead of getting a paper bag of chips(like chipotle or any other tex mex joint) I received a ziplock baggie of (clearly) store bought tortilla chips. Let me begin by saying that this review began as primarily disappointment in the online ordering. However, I left a message to be contacted by management on the Hot Head website over a week ago and still have yet to be contacted. They were suppose to get back to me within 2 business days. We ordered food online, in advance, on Nov 15 with a pick up time of 6:45 pm. When I arrived my food was already sitting out, this I wasn't worried about at first. Once I had my food I noticed the $6.50 queso we had ordered came in a 3 oz. container, which was not what the website had shown, and it also did not come with any chips. When I asked the employee if it was suppose to come with chips she stated that it would be extra. This annoyed me, but it wasn't the end of the world, I had just learned that we would never be getting that again. Then once I got home (I live about 5-10 min away) we got out the food. The tacos were just plain cold and the burrito bowl was like warm at best. This was the last straw on top of everything else that went wrong with our order. Save your money and go to chipotle. Food is always great however the portions are incredibly small. My burrito was half the size of my regular order from chipotle and was more expensive. For the jalapeño cheddar tortilla there is a $0.60 up-charge which is understandable, however I paid almost $12 for a burrito the size of an appetizer. I normally don't write reviews however this has happened on multiple occasions. The workers are not friendly and seem like they do not want to be there. We ordered from Hot Head because we had an Uber Eats credit to use up and for some reason, this was the only place that was delivering that night. We got two burrito bowls, queso and chips, and a brownie. My biggest complaint with the burrito bowls were how saucy they were so that was the only flavor that I got. I don't know if I should've specified less sauce in my order? The components of the bowl itself were pretty lackluster - not as much seasoning as Chipotle, not as much meat as Chipotle, etc. The queso and chips were standard. The brownie was prepackaged and tasted just like what you can buy at the grocery store. All in all, hot head wasn't bad but it wasn't good and I don't see why I would ever need it to exist since Chipotle is better on every front. read more

For dinner last night, my wife and I decided to give Hot Head Burritos a try. Pausing inside the door of the nearly empty restaurant, it took us a moment to figure out which end of counter was the 'order' side and which was the 'pay' side. Having signs like 'order here' would certainly help reduce confusion for first-time customers like us. We placed our orders and proceeded down the line. While the staff was polite, I cannot say that they were very friendly, as they pretty much seemed like minimum wage employees just putting in their time. Thanks to the restaurant's Monday night special, our total order came to less than $15, which felt like a good deal. When we moved to the dining side of the restaurant, we selected as clean of a table as we could find, using a spare napkin to wipe the previous patrons' food off the table and seats. Digging in to our food, my wife said her chicken bowl had a good taste, with nicely seasoned chicken and veggies, but way too much lettuce. My Hawaiian burrito had a great flavour, with the sweet habanero sauce and the pineapple chunks perfectly complimenting the pulled pork. The décor of the restaurant consisted of the obligatory hot pepper posters ubiquitous to Tex-Mex-style restaurants, as well as several televisions hanging from the walls. Unfortunately the closed-captioning was only turned on a couple of the TVs, so the rest were pretty much useless. While we really liked the unique flavours of the food and nice potion sizes, it could not make up for the ambivalent staff and not very clean dining room. Just not at all impressed. Showed up at around 6PM to place a takeout order. 3 people working. We are still under a mask order due to Covid and only one person was wearing their mask right. A guy prepping the food had his hanging down so his nostrils were exposed, and a teenager who may have been on break was hanging out behind the counter with her mask down on her chin. It took several tries for them to take my order properly. Was like they just weren't paying attention. Glad I had them read it back. Got the food back to my gf's apartment and it was very lackluster. The beef had little to no seasoning. The tacos were cold and bland, plus pretty skimpy for the price. A Taco Bell taco is loaded and 10x more flavorful by comparison. If you're making nachos, wouldn't you melt the cheese on them? They apparently don't. The habanero sauce had very little heat to it, much less than a canned jalapeno. Everything was bland and fairly expensive for what you got. Won't be returning--there are just too many far better places in town. I literally could have gotten a far better and actually more authentic Mexican meal for half the price at Taco Bell. I will say the woman that was apparently the manager was courteous and friendly, and suggested some things to try. read more

The girl who was putting on topics had an attitude like she didn't want to be there. At the cashier I used a coupon but didn't take the 20 percent off like it should have. Went to the car and they forgot a fork and napkins so I went back in and the guy gave me a fork and one napkins all scrunched up. I ate here today, I was not impressed. So this place is basically a remake of Chipotle/Pancheros. The process is basically identical. This is my first time to this restaurant and my first time to this chain. At Chipotle's and Pancheros, I normally order a bowl but I decided to take a chance and order a burrito. So as they are putting the ingredients on the burrito, I'm noticing that there is a lot of stuff on it. Any rate, it was a big let down, I didn't eat more than a couple bites and I threw it away. Yeah, it was a waste. In retrospect, I could have gone to Chipoltle and spent the same money for an entree that I knew would have been better. We will not be returning to this branch of Hot Head (Perrysburg, OH location) which bums us out because it's the most convenient for us. We normally go at least once a month but we can't stand being there anymore. It was fine at first but the last 3-5 times we've gone, it's treated like some of the employees own personal playground. It's so unprofessional. A couple visits ago someone's friends showed up and were loud and obnoxious. The last 2 times someone's boyfriend/husband brought their kid in and they let the little boy run around doing whatever. The kid came up to our table with messy hands and a messy face and just stared us. It was disgusting and inappropriate. We won't give up Hot Head all together because we've been to the branch on McCord and that one is always professional. But now we'll have to go out of our way to go which means it went from once a month visits to a couple times a year only. read more

The hours on their door are wrong. We went in at 7:55pm and they nearly had all their food put away. There were no utensils out to serve the food and the manager told the guy serving our food to use his hands.... We should have left then. They had no fajita veggies and the rice, beans, and meat were cold. As a big Chipotle fan, I was quite eager to try out Hot Heads. The guy assembling my burrito was some kid who obviously did not want to be there, yet was trained well by the staff to be frugal with the meat, sour cream and cheeses. The steak burrito still came out to be a good size. I can't tell you how underwhelmed I was with this burrito. It was like eating a bland salad wrapped in tortilla. Yes, it was exactly like a bland rice salad with beans, corn and jalapenos wrapped in a tortilla. The steak was a little tough and had absolutely no flavor. Underwhelming. It was our first time ever experiencing Hot Head and sadly, it will be our last. We ordered from DoorDash for delivery and our experience with the delivery option was great. The food came earlier than we expected and the driver practiced no contact drop off. We ordered a barbacoa quesadilla that ended up being a wet, semi toasted blob of poorly seasoned meat. We also ordered two burritos and a large queso. One of the burritos was exactly how we ordered it, but my burrito was missing several ingredients considering it was $11, I was definitely irritated. I ordered the steak which ended up being a few hard chunks of cubed beef that was not seasoned. The burrito was packed so full of white rice that I ended up disassembling it just to get all the "filler" out. After I did that, it was an extremely sad and wimpy burrito. They didn't add any of the 3 sauces I ordered or the cheese so I basically ate a wet tortilla with tomatoes and HUGE chunks of onion. I paid $11 for a plain white rice burrito. On to the "large queso"... we were given 2 small condiment containers of queso and we were charged almost $5! Our total with tip came to $50 and some change! So, with all that being said, if you want a HOT HEAD after ordering food from this establishment, be my guest! What a disappointment! read more

After experiencing poor food and service quality from the Perrysburg Hot Head location, I decided to write a letter to the owner expressing my thoughts and explaining why I was upset with my service. I was hopeful that I would get a response back. When I did, I was very appreciative. The owner contacted me via email and formally apologized to me. I received a four paragraph apology that details the ways in which he plans to prevent the problems that I experienced from happening in the future. After reading his apology and explanation, I was relieved. He addressed every issue I stated. After reading his response, I better understand why I received poor service. I was convinced that after my poor experience I would no longer be a customer to the Perrysburg location, but now since I understand what the store's circumstances were I want to try the location again. The owner recently purchased the store and he and his wife have been working very hard to remodel train, and hire. The owner of the store made me feel important because he made it seem that my thoughts and concerns mattered. I am confident that he is working to improve the store, and I am excited to try the restaurant again in the near future. read more

Don't bother ordering through yelp! When my boyfriend showed up to pick up the order it wasn't finished because they never received it. I've ordered through yelp at other places and those orders were fine. They asked for the order on the spot and I couldn't remember all the details and yelp wouldn't let me check just showed me the items I ordered. They messed up one of our bowls then came to are car asking if it was ok... um no it was your mistake so fix it... then they acted like they really didn't want to make it. Terrible customer service. I ordered online at 615pm, paid for the order and given a pickup time of 642pm. I arrived at 645 and was told my order wasn't made and asked to go wait in my car and the staff would bring out the order. I waited 15 minutes and walked back inside. I told the employee at the register I was still waiting and how long I was waiting. He offered no apology instead saying he was slammed all day and it wasn't his fault. I told them that I am next in line bc my order was promised 15 minutes ago and placed at 615. The 2 other employees came over and also started making excuses why my food was ready. "I'm 16 years old and I have been here since 10:30 this morning doing prep because my manager didn't feel like coming in today." "We've been slammed all day." The 2 other employees also told me they are only 16 years old. I told them I want a refund and the managers number. They said they are not capable of giving a refund without a manager. There was also a young man sitting in a booth next to the register who started arguing with me bc I was raising my voice. This young man told me he video recorded me and would send it to the manager(hope he does). I can only guess that he was also an employee loitering in the store (not eating, talking to the cashier). I was handed the manager's phone and told to call him to get a refund. This also happened to my brother, whom placed a separate online order at the same time as I. His food was also NOT prepared. After leaving, he called the manager and left a message. After, he called another store to speak with the manager. The Holland, OH store manager stated the Hot Head Burrito in Perrysburg is managed by the District Manager (called off and left 3 minor employees to run the store) . The Holland store manager called the owners of the Hot Head Burrito. The owners returned the call and stated they will process the refund tomorrow. I will NEVER give them another $ and tell everyone about my experience. The employees clearly should've been trained on customer service and NOT be left in charge of a store when they cannot perform functions necessary for operation, including filling online orders. The point of online ordering is so you don't have to wait at the restaurant. A simple concept that Hot Head Burrito in Perrysburg cannot grasp. I was admittedly angry and raised my voice in the store. But not once did an employee acknowledge a mistake or apologize. Also, the cashier was NOT wearing his face mask properly(pulled down on his face). It was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. Somehow, the other customers were more concerned about the young employees getting their feelings hurt than doing their job. I also suspect they were irritated they had to wait so long in line, which was MY point of contention-except I waited an hour and got charged for food I never received. read more
