People think hot pot is just hot pot, but if the broth is not right, it would definitely ruin one's experience. Since I've been back to Maryland visiting and what not, this place has become my favorite out of all the places! Just the consistency and the service is wonderful! They recently did some renovations in how they present their items for hot pot and sauces and it's pretty cool! It's clean and well thought out! I always enjoy the meat quality and also my favorite broth is the Chicken and Fish. It always tastes so healthy and savory! The service is great! Shu always does a wonderful job and makes sure we're taken care of and if we ever want anything specific, he goes out of his way to get it for us, which I love! My favorite is the red bean sesame balls! They have it on the little app buffet but when they are fresh and hot, it makes such a difference! I'm not a big seafood fan but their selection of seafood options is pretty impressive! And they have watercress! For a person who does not like as much vegetables, they have everything! I thought their beef brisket was really good, probably one of the better ones I've had at an AYCE hot pot. I did like all their seafood choices such as scallops, crawfish, mussels and oysters. I really enjoyed my hot pot lunch here. I love the whole setup - you order the meat and soup through an iPad, and it's brought right to your table. This method keeps the meat fresh, perfectly sliced, and undamaged from sitting out on a buffet. The buffet bar has a great selection of vegetables, dumplings, meatballs, and delicious hot items like chicken wings and fried shrimp. There's also a well-stocked sauce bar and a dessert refrigerator. I like to make my sauce with cilantro, garlic, chili oil, and peanut sauce - it pairs perfectly with the tomato broth. I was heading somewhere else for lunch, and not in the best of moods, a little distracted... so I made a wrong turn. I wound up at Hot N Roll Hot Pot. I've driven by it a billion times, located in that awkwardly placed Lotte Plaza, but I've never stopped in -- if I'm being bluntly honest, the traffic pattern in and out of that plaza is a -nightmare- and I don't go into that plaza at all, if I can help it. (Really, a synched light at the end of the intersection to keep traffic from building up would be a huge help, but what do I know). But, hey, I'm not here to review the plaza or metro area traffic. Let's talk Hot Pot. First pro tip -- the entire plaza is made up of various Asian restaurants. They have their names on the marquee above the restaurant, but not necessarily on the door... make sure you go into the right one. Ask me how I know. Go on. I dare you. Walking into the place, it's clean, well lit, and simply decorated. The most unusual feature is immediately apparent: it's a buffet. Most of the stuff (except things like the thin sliced meat) are located in buffet stations along the side. I really like this -- I can get as many of something as I want, or as little. I just want to try those, so I'm only gonna grab one? Sure. YUM, that was good, give me 37 more? No problem. They've got some unusual items, too. Probably the most striking for me was oysters on the half shell. I didn't have the chile peppers to try eating them raw, but I did put them in hot pot. I still maintain that any cooked oyster is an abomination, but they were pretty good. For an abomination. The quality of all the items seemed good: maybe not the greatest, but no marks off here. The place they excelled though was in the quality of the broths. Most hot pots give you this watery, flavourless, which variety did you get anyhow, style of broth. I have always chortled at the little soup spoon that comes with it, because I have zero interest in actually drinking it. Not so here! Their broth was so flavourful, so tasty, so YUM. I regertted getting something basic -- the Pork Salt Broth, instead of one of the more adventurous. If I'm looking for one negative thing to say: the table is really far from the seats, and not mobile. I guess that's not all bad, because my stomach gained an extra 6 inches. ;) read more

We love going here and always have a great experience. To be honest I never knew this was a Chinese hot pot til recently because we usually go to kpots which I found really interesting and appreciated learning more about the differences. The food selection is nice however and very similar. The options available are always fresh and it's not usually overcrowded allowing you to really see the selections without feeling rushed. Like many hot pot places in the area they play music while you eat and it always really clean. I'd definitely recommend you check it out if you're in the area you won't be disappointed. read more

Got the pork bone broth which was delicious. Not too salty broth. I liked that this place had individual bowls and sharing bowl options. My friends and I opted to do individual bowls. I also liked that veggies and seafood were one you can grab yourself! They had watercress which I love! But they could use more veggie options too. Tons of seafood options. Great selection at a great price. Hot N Roll Hot Pot is not your average Hot Pot place. This all-you-can-eat establishment takes different ideas from other unlimited meal establishments combined with a surprising variety of proteins and veggies. Unfortunately, when we first arrived, our server didn't explain how the dining experience worked, but we learned pretty quickly. For around $35-$40, each diner gets a personal pot of hot broth of your choice with unlimited refills. You can order high end meats from a menu that includes all manner of beef and pork, or you can hit the buffet bar for seafood, chicken, fish balls, vegetables, and noodles. Included is also a sauce bar where you can craft your own sauces and unlimited desserts, though these are mostly low-cost ice creams. Sodas and alcohol are sold separately. Fair warning if you order meat off the menu is that you get a LOT per portion. You might be used to ordering at an all-you-can-eat buffet and getting a few thin slices of beef, but here, two orders was more than enough meat than I could handle by self after I included seafood and vegetables. Seafood includes huge shrimps, clams, crabs, muscles, squid, and even whole baby octopuses. For some of the more interesting vegetables, they had taro, pumpkin, seaweed knots, and shrimp paste, which is almost like ground meat made of shrimp. You need to try it at least once. They also have deboned duck feet, a personal favorite of mine that I rarely see in these kinds of establishments. Service was quick, and we got in and out relatively fast. We came on a monday night about an hour before they closed, and there were about 2 other tables of people there. The interior was very clean and spacious. The booths felt more private which I liked. They brought our soups out right away and we got to eating pretty quickly. They had a few hot bar items and a large selection of seafood and vegetables that are self serve. I love mushrooms and they had a good variety. The food was all relatively close so we didn't have to walk far. This hot pot place has an amazing variety and very generous portions. The soup quality is also great. I got the Tom yum base and it was so flavorful. I barely needed the sauces I made for dipping. This is set up a little differently than other hot pot locations where they have seafood and vegetables in a buffet so you can choose what you want rather than ordering and having it all brought to the table. We did order a few meats from the menu that were brought out. It was a double portion and almost too much for 2 people, plus all of the buffet options. One thing that really caught my eye about this place is that you get individual hot pots, which is a huge plus for me since my husband and I have different preferences on our soup base! The majority of the foods are self-serve at the buffet line, but the noodles, meat and some tofu items are ordered on the tablet. Drinks are not included in the hot pot price except for water. There is also a fridge full of ice cream that's included in your meal! The attendants were very attentive with us and kept our soda refills coming before we could even ask! They even go around refilling your pot with soup! The store is very well lit, but the chairs and tables are almost comically large! I had to sit on the edge of my booth seat, otherwise it would have been impossible to eat! My friends and I really enjoyed our experience here. I had family recommend this spot and we were so glad we stopped by. They recently remodeled and added high ceilings and comfy seats inside. Some of the vegetables, noodles and other ingredients are by the cold bar station and not ordered via the Ipads. The food bar area and location overall is really clean. All of your standard sauces are there except the popular meat sauce. I enjoyed the house sauce it had a strong yuzu or lemon taste. It can be a bit sour for some. The cuts of meat came out perfectly. Thinly cut and takes very few minutes to cook. I really enjoyed my experience here. I noticed some premium items like salmon, lamb, blue crab and crawfish were included for lunch. The Tom Yum broth that we got was very rich. Service here was great as well. I think between most of the restaurant being full. We saw about 3 waiters running around taking care of all of the tables. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. Don't forget to check in via the Yelp app as well to get a discount off your entire check. Since I moved to MD, I've been sticking to the same hot pot place near me and finally decided to try something new. Man so glad I did! This AYCE hot pot is delicious and love the open buffet concept. Despite it being AYCE, the quality of the food is fantastic and comparable to a la carte hot pot places. From the outside, you can't tell how spacious, modern, and clean it is so we were genuinely surprised. You go to an AYCE and they give you 10 pounds of broccoli you have to fish, this place you can just grab 2/3 and eat however more or little you like. So happy you all are open again!! We used to frequent this restaurant before COVID~ The renovation is absolutely Stunning! They made thoughtful choices in layout and design. The inside appears much more spacious despite being the same square footage. The service was so friendly and attentive. I also appreciated the upgrade to using tablets to order (keeps up with the competition). My favorite part is that it's still self serve for veggies/seafood/etc- the seafood options are top tier. Service excellent, staff professional, though there could be more of them but of course I went on Easter Sunday, so it could just be that they were understaffed for that day. They even had a cleaning crew on standby to clean empty tables! Clean, nice countertops, bathrooms were about 85% clean(100% being brand spanking new), so pretty good overall. You can keep ordering beef/pork meat(and some other special stuff like quail eggs or tofu skin) or get vegetables/seafood from the bar. I'm amazed they can keep the amount of selection they offer on hand, maybe not for long(though one can only hope). Just some things they had at the bar were crawfish, mussels, squid rings, octopus, napa, carrots, marinated beef, tripe(both kinds!), and that's about a third of what they had. Where to start? Came here with my sister for lunch since we were in the area. We came back last night for our parent's' anniversary. First, let's start off with the location. It is located off the exit from US 29 next to Lotte Supermarket. It's a little confusing to get into but that's why a GPS was invented. The food is good. It AYCE (all you can eat) and the selection is a little small but the quality of the food was fresh and good. Both times I ordered the mushroom broth and it was not overly seasoned. My mom ordered the original pork broth but she didn't really like the broth as much. She loved my broth more. I also liked the tomato broth that my sister gotten. The seafood selection was fair but the quality was as fresh as it can get. The shrimp were larger than other AYCE hot pot places. The crawfish were large and according to my parents, the crawfish are larger than the ones you get at a standard buffet. The ambiance here was very chilled. The space is very spacious and large. The music was minimal but very modern. The service here is exceptional. The staff does occasionally stop by to check up on their customers. My dad had a conversation with, I believe is the manager. He was very welcoming and nice. He even gave us some desserts and have us try it to give him feedback. The dessert he offered was good, not very sweet. The manager was very happy to hear that we enjoyed our meal. He was also very happy to hear that we will recommend this place to our friends.
