This is a great way to force a detox without going to a sauna as it is hot yoga. I do yoga more as restorative for my body as I am bad about stretching after working out. The staff is always friendly and so are the people who are there for the practice of yoga. If you need a may, yoga towel, or a towel there are some available (maybe for a small price?). The best part is at the end when they give you a lavender cold towel to cool down with. Oh and just to let you know on Friday it is $5! read more

If you like Hot Yoga, you would love this place. I'm more of a slow flow, gentle yoga gal, but 1) it's super convenient 2) my friend teaches here and 3) they have a great 30 for $30 deal so it's worth trying for a month. Wonderful teachers, cool vibe. The best part is the lavender towel they give you at the end of each class. The worst part is the tiny vestibule while you're waiting for back-to-back classes. I visited their new location at Baymadows for a free 75 minute grand opening class. I was a bit apprehensive as this was my second hot yoga class ever. Although I regularly practice yoga, the idea of doing it in a heated space with lots of people was a bit daunting. Luckily all of those worries faded away when the instructor's started speaking. They were so nice and excited to have such a large group show up! We were able to fit forty mats in the studio. Now this studio used to be a liquor store so it is a bit narrow compared to other yoga studios. You definitely get to know your neighbor very well. The instructors made it easy to brush off the awkwardness of sweating next to a stranger and turned it into a fun community like experience. Instead of worrying about the people next to me I was able to rely on them in certain poses to help me to reach into a deeper stretch. There were also a lot of assistants coming around and helping people get into certain poses and reaching a bit deeper into their stretch. Let me tell you, I absolutely loved this class! I left feeling so great. The rush of endorphins was amazing and this was the first class where I was able to do the wheel pose. I definitely plan on returning for more hot yoga. They currently have a deal where you pay $30 dollars for unlimited classes during one month. This is a pretty great deal considering that their single day pass is $18. read more

I have been going to this studio for almost a year and I love the workout and teachers. Although hot power yoga is the primary practice type, hot spot also provide a selection of classes to balance out your workout. Hot spot has recently started teaching YOD which is a mix of yoga and high intensity training which is an excellent way to sweat and burn some calories. Hot spot has a regular deal where $30 provides unlimited yoga for 30 days. Otherwise a drop in is around $18 which seems to be a bit higher than the average I have paid for a drop in but the classes are definitely worth it! read more

I like this yoga studio. I've practiced and taught for 15 years in many places and different styles. The teachers are very kind and there are a variety of classes. The only issue with this studio is they FORCE you to introduce yourself to people before every class. Its beyond awkward- it's painful for people who come to yoga to practice Yoga. You don't really have time to form a meaningful connection and you usually can't even remember the people's names who you "met". Its pointless at best and really miserable at worst. It messes up my whole mental space just before starting my practice and gives me such a jolt of anxiety that it then takes half of my practice just to calm back down to where I can enjoy my breathe and body and not worry about what the person next to me is named. If people want to make friends - they are adults, and free to do that. They do not need to be forced. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I had never been to this studio before and decided to give it a try via class pass. I arrived 15 min prior as instructed on the web site. However, the site did not mention I needed to bring a yoga mat and I assumed they would provide a mat. I was told I could rent one for $3. As a first time customer, I thought they might waive the fee, but no. I ran to my car in the pouring rain only to run back in soaking wet and be told they are a "card only" business (I had cash). I was told to run back to my car for a card or they could take the $5 for the mat and give me a $2 credit (to an account that as a 1st time customer I didn't have??). I didn't find the place welcoming and will NOT be going back! read more

Maybe the hip openers have me emotional, but I love this yoga spot. The instructors are committed and give personal adjustments throughout the class. The room is hot but not bikram hot and each class has variations to the baptiste flow to keep things interesting. During savasana they give you a cool lavender towel and a chorus of ohms seal the class with unity. Go here if you want to improve your strength - inside and out. read more

The instructors are helpful, the program is challenging yet fun, and the cool lavender towels at the end are a nice touch. I've been a yogi for several years and have visited several studios in Jacksonville, as well as yoga through local gym classes and on my own. Hot Spot Power Yoga is the place I finally decided to call 'home'. The yoga classes are GREAT, the schedule is convenient, the location is ideal and has ample parking (something numerous studios in town can't seem to provide). But more than anything else, the people really make you feel welcomed and that they truly care about you having nothing less than an exceptional yoga workout every single time. I've been working out there for several months now, and every class is as good as the last. I can see myself working out here for a long time. read more
