I went to this nail salon 2 weeks ago for a full set of tips and acrylic.. I have to say it was the worst experience I've ever had .. when the tech completed they were all different lengths and thick.. I have been a nail tech for 25 yrs the work was appalled at the work she did .. The only service I enjoyed was the pedicure...would never go back again... read more

I recently moved to northern NJ from NYC. I struggle to find a decent nail salon in my area. I heard great things about Nina from another nail tech in NJ; after some considerations I booked an appointment, to remove an old set. While at the salon I showed them my nails and asked if I can make an appointment with Nina? Only to find out that she doesn't take new clients. ‍ The receptionist guided me to "the best nail technician" after Nina. When the day of my appointment came up (for my new set) a few weeks later. I arrived on time, showed the nail tech what I wanted and she couldn't deliver. To the point that I didn't let her finish. I like my nails with a nice foundation and shape. The lady didn't even try... They charged me 60 dollars for the infished job, I paid and when right down the street to have them remove it. Nina may be good??? (I don't know) But the rest of the staff is trash! Don't waist your money!!! If you know quality work and that's what you are expecting... don't go to Hot Tips Nail Lounge! A lot of nail salon owners begging to teach classes and to sale products and forget about the salons and they stop taking care of "new customers". All that is cool, make your money. But don't let the salon go to the garbage . That's how you got to where you are in the first place. With so much "social media fame" it's a shame for teaching classes... is a shame that your own staff can't produce quality work. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Will never go again! This was my first time going to this establishment. I had high expectations due to how popular they seem to be on social media. But unfortunately that was not the case. As soon as I got there I barely had a moment to look around even pick a color. The receptionist had me write my name and number down and ask me what I wanted to get today.I told her I needed a new set and she looked at me as if she had no idea what I was talking about. I had to hold my hands up in the air and look at my nails and say to her again I need a new set. Then out of nowhere this guy named T who I think was the manager. Came out of nowhere asked me to sit down as he began to do my nails. He was very fast and rushed the whole time I even asked him for color advice and all he did was hand me a bunch of color samples and told me to look through it will be easier for him he said. During my appointment T was yelling at the receptionist literally over me. Yelling at her to do this to do that. Very unprofessional and inappropriate. Made me feel so uncomfortable to have this man yell at his employee and tell her to do things and to have her actually respond over me. I'm literally in the middle of the conversation. I found it absolutely ridiculous. I wanted to get up and leave in that moment. Moving on, I told this man that these are my vacation nails and I'm going on vacation so they have to be very special and please treat them with care. He said oh yes sure of course. But with all the scratches and marks and blood and errors that I am currently looking.. so clearly he didn't listen to one thing I said. He must've heard me say make sure my nails look awful and painful once I leave the salon.. in the beginning of my appointment I tell T I also need my eyebrows done. Now like I said I have never been here before! But I really wanted to try something new and take a chance. Now ladies these are our eyebrows! Our sisters! Our second eyes! So I told the girl to please treat them as if they were your own. She said oh yes of course absolutely just like the other guy did. Not only did she not do what I asked. She was talking to a fellow coworker in Spanish RIGHT ON TOP OF ME! She clearly wasn't playing any sort of attention. Again extremely unprofessional. Does this place not have any sort of customer service training?! Couple minutes later she tapped me on my shoulder and told me that I am all done. Doesn't even clean my face of all the excess brows that are all over my face. Doesn't put any sort of cream or lotion on my face to cool them down. Doesn't even give me a mirror to see how they look. I ask her for a tissue and a mirror and she gave my a tissue and told me I don't have a mirror right now...I was so done with this place once I heard that. Just to show this girl had absolutely no sort of customer service skills. Oh! And of course I gotta talk about the money.. so while I'm getting my nails done I tell T I need to get my eyebrows done so what will be the total of my appointment. He tells me 60. I go OK cool sounds good so my nails and eyebrows that comes the 60. He said yes 60! Tell me how I get to the front desk to pay when she tells me 70?! I said oh no honey that's not right, it's 60 you can ask T. I turn around To confirm with T you said 60 right and then of course he said 60 for nails and 10 for brows and I said no...you said 60 total. I said you know what, don't even sweat it. I paid the full 70. Just know that I will never come back here again. Enjoy my first and last bill. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! read more

Do not come here. I have been coming to this salon for about a years and a half and I believe they entered a new ownership this fall. It has been quite unpleasant since the new ownership. The nail techs usually do a nice job and the prices were good so I continued to use this salon regardless of the rude new owner. My visit yesterday was my last straw here. I went in to have my acrylic nails removed and had the worst nail experience of my life. When I sat down I was told to put my hand in a dirty looking bowl of acetone as the tech started electronically filing my tips off. After about 2 minutes the owner comes over and grabs my other hand and starts basically ripping off my nails with his hands and a tool. This was very painful. He then says "we're going to double team you here"(who says that....??). Anyway he proceeds to painfully rip off my nails and now attempts to use another unused acrylic tip to dig under and pop them off. This was also very painful. He the moves on to my next nail and fully takes over the technician's spot. He proceeds to attempt to rip off a stubborn nail so hard that he rips off half of my nail and causes bleeding. He then just says "did you get these here" as he revealed the FUNGUS on my nail from their lack of clean products my last visit. Also no acknowledgement of the blood or pain he caused me. He just walked away after this. From here my tech finished removing the nails and at this point I knew I had to leave. I got up and paid and left though I should not have paid as I could have just ripped off my nails myself as they did. Don't come here. Don't give these people your money. They are unsanitary and unprofessional hopefully a health standards inspector visits soon. read more

When I first found this place I thought I'd come here forever. My nail was awesome, however the management was not. When my nail girl stopped working there I already had my next apt there, instead of telling me that when they confirmed my appt that she was no longer there, they were just going to let me show up and have someone else do my nails. Shady. They offer a discount if you refer people, I had sent at least six people. When they would tell the owner that he would reply, oh we have too many people with that name. My mom also had been coming here for while, she had found a 20% off but they wouldn't take it saying it was old (there was no expiration anywhere on it) they should of taken it especially knowing they let someone with no experience do her nails and were done absolutely horrible. I would highly recommend going elsewhere- don't get distracted by the atmosphere of this place. It might blind you the first or second time read more

Absolutely terrible experience. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went to get my eyebrows waxed here since I noticed they said they had a brow bar/eyebrow service. The room that they brought me in was extremely small and cramped (pretty sure it's supposed to be a storage closet). Unfortunately the woman doing my eyebrows dId not speak that much English so they brought in one of the other girls to translate. I tried to explain how they normally do my eyebrows and even tried to show them pictures as well (arched with crisp lines/no curves underneath). They tinted them literally BLACK when I have blonde/dirty blonde hair. Posting a picture with this too- the color that is shown while they were tinting was the EXACT color I walked out with. I literAlly walked out of there looking like I had SHARPIE EYEBROWS- would not come out for WEEKS! They took too much out on the bottom of my brows and did not even bother to make them even. NEVER coming here again. read more

Just moved to the area and needed a new nail tech. Had my appointment last week for a gel refill and ended up being 10 min late due to an accident on the highway. They were extremely accommodating and when I got to the salon, I was greeted very nicely! My temperature was taken and I was told to wash my hands before being seated. My nail tech did an amazing job- probably best I've ever had- and the manicure was reasonably priced. Everyone in the salon was very nice and friendly to each other and I'm looking forward to making this my new spot! read more

First time I went, I loved it. Second time I got someone who told me she couldn't do the design I wanted which I appreciate. Although I wanted something different. I started following the Instagram page to see artwork. I called and asked to schedule with Nina which was hard to do, it was like they wanted to push me on someone else. When I went to my appointment she rudely asked me "how did you get an appointment with me?" Like It was special treatment and I didn't like that. I let it go tho and explained I follow her Instagram. I showed her what I wanted and she quoted me $190 for a fill, ombré with gems. For 3 weeks of nails ? No. So then I said how about just the ombré and she said she only does long nails and big designs. Ok so I'll do ombré and gems, She charged me $100. Ridiculous. Not only that, they told me after I had already got my nails done that Nina only excepts cash no credit. So I spent more money in their Atm. I was just offended, she acted like she was better then me. She kept saying she only does long Nails and big designs and I wanted a big design but she had outrages prices. Also my nails were decently long and I've seen shorter nails on her instagram but she made it a point that She doesn't normally do nails as short as mine..multiple times. The end of my appointment she didn't even say goodbye she just walked away and disappeared. I stopped going there after that and now I go somewhere else that does the same designs quality work, better prices, closer to my home, and amazing treatment. Emphasis on amazing treatment read more

Great one stop shop. I get my gel nails, pedi, and brow tinting done in the same appointment. They have lots of people working there so you have to try out a few people to find the one you like. Only bad experience I've had has had to do with miscommunication at the front desk. Unfortunately at happened the first 3 times I went. But I kept going because they are actually very nice and helpful. They got it together after. read more

Will not go back. As a new client I was asked to pay a $20 scheduling fee when I called to book, I was told would be deducted from my service. It was not and I was charged $50 for a full set of acrylics with gel color. That's $70 for a set of nails that are short and square. Not as "Hot" as they claim. read more

So I came across this salon after a friend mentioned it to me and of course I started my investigation to see what this place was really about. Based off the reviews I read I was a bit confused... To start off, this place is beautiful and the service is extremely pleasing. I made an appointment and of course I was running 10-15 mins late but I called ahead and let them know and they were very accommodating. Once I got there, I checked in and picked a color of their wall of nail polish. To my surprise there was a full wall of gel colors behind the nail bar and they matched to the regular nail polish color I picked out before. I waited about 3 minuets before being seated and starting my Full Acrylic Coffin Set with Mr. T. He was quiet but very hardworking and attentive to detail. I showed him pictures of some designs and he executed them beyond my expectations. Needless to say this is definitely my new spot and I'll be returning very soon for a fill. Don't be discouraged by the reviews, don't hate before you try it. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Worst nail place EVER!!!! My friend and I drove an hour to come to this place.. We were looking forward to this for so long. To experience this place with all the great nail work they claim to do. Not only did I not get what I asked for, but the receptionists were absolutely unprofessional and extremely rude.I sat in a chair for over 2 hours to get acrylic on my real nails...not too challenging. Showed the girl pictures and she said she could do it...once again not very challenging. After two hours, and the tech working on 4 different nails multiple times and still couldn't get the design or laying out the acrylic properly. Had to change the design to nothing and leave one nail with a very very bad look. I had enough. I respectfully walked up to the two receptionists to speak with them quietly asking if there were another tech to fix my nails because the girl was charging $60 for a VERY bad nail job. These girls not only got nasty and threatened to call the police, but then accused me of calling the tech STUPID which I never did!! This place is disgusting. The manager never called me like promised. It's a poor way to run your business. How dare you treat someone the way I was treated. You out to be ashamed of yourselves. read more

I wish I came to read the reviews on Yelp before giving this local salon so many chances! Today I had the absolute worst nail salon experience of my life. The other reviews are right when they mention the lack of customer service and the employees being rude. I came in today as a walk-in. I was told they had availability for a pedicure and gel manicure right away, but waited for 15 minutes in the chair before anyone arrived. That's completely fine if you're going to do a good job! The owner came to my chair and tried to upsell me to a different pedicure. I asked if the basic pedicure included the massage and was told it did, so I opted to stay with the basic pedicure. There was absolutely no massage and zero lotion applied to my legs. I have never seen this anywhere. I asked the technician if there was an upcharge for the massage and she said yes, it would cost extra. By the time my pedicure was over the technician grabbed my bag which ended up being soaked as well as the contents inside because one of the chairs was leaking. They needed to supply me with plastic bags to hold the contents for the rest of my appointment. The same technician that did my pedicure was doing my gel manicure and was clearly annoyed. She started filing my nails and gave me the deepest cut with the file which hurt like hell. Finally I was given another technician who painted my nails well, but then I needed to file my own because when looking at them complete they were all crooked. I was then told that they could give me 20% off for the inconvenience. SAFE TO SAY I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO THIS SALON. Not at all relaxing, was actually painful. Couldn't pay me to go back. read more

Owner is extremely rude and disrespectful. The way he treats his clients and employees is disgusting. I have never been disrespected . He yelled at me for not being satisfied with my nails although the technician made a mistake and made one hand glossy and the other one matte and tried to cover it up by adding 3 layers of gel my nails were so fat it wasn't a good service. He told me if I needed a "ruler" in front of everyone to measure my nails I was humiliated I walked out of the nail salon in tears! Went to Hot Tips Nail & Beauty Lounge after work on a Friday night. Brought in a picture from THEIR ig account and walked out with horrible nails. Called the following day and they were nice and fixed them for free. Three hours later 3 of my stones fall off while I'm scratching my damn foot !! yet i was charged $85 + tip for this service. UPDATE: called Hot Tips Nail & Beauty Lounge and asked for a refund. The woman who originally answered the phone was extremely nice and helpful. Then MARYBETH got on the phone and accused me of yelling and being rude which I was FAR from being rude or even raising my voice at all. She tells me to come back to get them fixed and I explained to her that I live 45 minutes away from the salon and I don't want to come back every single day to make sure my nails are intact. Marybeth hit me with the "come back and fix it or deal with it because we don't do refunds" I have NEVERRRRRRR been treated so wrongly when spending my money at a company who's name holds such high standards. I walked in expecting the pretty nails that THEY POSTED ON THEIR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT, but walked out with something my 9 year old niece could've done. I was also informed by a friend that she got an infection so bad on her foot that she could HARDLY WALK from a pedicure she got at this abomination of a salon. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! They only post their best work and fail to mention that only a few of their techs are good with design and shape. The rest of the girls have no idea what they're doing I also want to add that I'm NEVER one to complain or bash someone's name but with how I was treated VS the money I paid for TRASH - I'm warning everyone. This is not at all about the money, I've paid over $100 for a set for GOOD quality and what I received is far from quality let alone the disrespect I encountered read more

If I could give this nail salon a 0 rating I would! My friend and I both made an appointment to get our nails done (I got a pedicure and she got a fill in). 1st we waited 40 minutes before we were called over to our chairs, then waited 10 minutes for our techs to come over and start. I got a spa gel pedicure which cost me 45$ and my nails are chipping already and it hasn't even been 4 days!!!!! My friends fill was $65.00 she asked for Halloween nails and showed a photo of the designs she wanted and her tech did a marble design instead and put some gems on her nails but decided to skip the coating over her gems so now they all fell off and her nails are all polish cracked. Updating my review because i won't give this place my business again. I went to the same lash tech for 2 years here, i took 2 months off and when i tried to book an appointment with her again they said she "wasn't taking new clients" i informed them i had been this lash tech's client for 2 years, they put me on hold for a few minutes and gave me an appointment available a month out. I agreed to this and even took a half day at work because i felt this lash tech's skills were worth it. When i showed up to my appointment 5 min early, i waited for FOURTY FIVE minutes to be attended to. I was at least think "well i will have my favorite lash tech" but boy was i wrong. I instead ended up with a new lash tech, and when i asked her where mine was she went to the front desk for a bit and came back to say "oh she is too busy she can't work today". I spent 1.5 hrs on my new set, and when i looked i barely looked like i had any lashes. And the price had been increased 20%. I actually can't believe i was duped into taking time off work, waiting almost an hour for such terrible service. I spent so much money on gel manicures, pedicures and lashes over the years i went. And i was treated like this? Tricked into saying i was going to get an appointment with my regular tech and then received terrible service. I will never give this place a dollar of my money again and i will NEVER recommend them again. read more

I have wanted to go to this salon for a while. I've been following them on Instagram and their nail art is beautiful! So I went today. I made an appointment and within 5 min of being there I was in the chair. I showed my nail tech a picture to give her an idea of what I wanted. My nails were a mess when I got there. I walked out of there HAPPY! I love my nails and can't wait to go back. They have so many options for your nail designs. I just want to try everything they have to offer! The price wasn't too much, about average of what I would pay anywhere else. Some of the bad reviews seem a little petty. I understand having an appointment should mean no waiting but it doesn't always work out that way in the real world. I've come in before multiple times to get my nails done. They do a decent job with mani/pedi. Today I went in to get my brows shaped and tinted. The lady who took care of me spoke no English so there was no communication on how I wanted the shape. I asked her to give me a bit of an arch by taking out some hair from the bottom of the brow and she misunderstood and tinted the top of the brow. A lot. The two brows don't match in shape, in alignment. I will have to use makeup to cover up the thickness on the top. The brows look fake. After the session I showed the girl that the shape doesn't match and she said hmmm and just stared at my brows for a solid minute and then I got up, paid and walked out. The lady that rang me up at the register (maybe the owner) not once asked how it looks. And you can clearly see that one brow is much lower than the other. Horrible experience. I went into Hot Tips for my second time today. The first time I went, I didn't understand all the hype. My experience was good, but nothing to rave about. Here's a hot tip, Paul B likes a nice manicure. So does his ex husband. My fair Gregorio came in to book an appointment, and failed to do so because he saw one of the owners cheating on him in the bathroom. Now, although the Gregsterr and I have remained friends and although I do practice voodoo on him, I support his decision to date a man who knows good nails, who happens to be this very owner who is currently hitting the hobby horse with other men behind my ex husbands beautiful backside. I do not support infidelity which only makes me miss Greggy even more and they don't even offer seaweed cleanses with happy endings.
