Honestly If it wasn't for the fact that I got the design I wanted I would give this place the least amount of stars possible. As I'm getting my nails done my stylist was talking to someone on her phone for a good amount of the service. Didn't ask me about shape, color, if I do gel etc. and when I did try to tell her what I wanted she had to pause her conversation. Then one of the other employees came over and they had their own conversation for the rest of my service while she was standing right behind me. But what really got me was how butchered my fingers are. I bled really bad and several of my fingers were cut bad and ALL of my finger tips are swollen and raw. It's a shame I loved the design and shape but as you can see from the photos my fingers themselves are just shot. I payed 80 dollars for my set... 4 days after having my nails done they started falling off. I called and they wanted to charge me for a full set in order to fix them... very rude & don't stand behind their work. This is the second time my nails have fallen apart from there... Save your time & money. The girl at the front desk has no idea what she's talking about and was beyond nasty to the point where I walked out instead of continuing to communicate with her. She told my friends and I the wrong price on the phone and in person before we sat down and proceeded to force a price that was never even mentioned (mind you, the 3 of us had appointments for the same pedicure, one of us paid $35, the other paid $40 and the other paid $50). Not to mention, the pedicure I received was rushed with the lady on the phone almost the entire time. She even left the toes slanted and then made both of my toes bleed that I had her correct. Best experience I've ever had at a salon. The owner was incredibly nice and welcoming. Gigi, my technician made the whole experience feel like I was getting my nails done by my best friend. She was efficient and gentle, and my gel mani came out perfect. I texted so many of my friends upon sitting down for my pedi to tell them how gorgeous and clean the place was. Awful please read this before you go here. Hot Tips has always been hit or miss for me but last week I had an absolute horrible experience and I will never return. The way I was treated by my nail tech was completely uncalled for and utterly unprofessional. I've worked in hospitality service and spas since I was 16 (I am 25 now) and NEVER would this behavior be tolerated. I had made an appointment for a full set at 5:45pm for a wedding I was attending that weekend. I know they close at 7:00 or 7:30 so I got there right on time to get started ASAP. I showed my tech (who I think is named G, or Gia?) a picture of what I wanted and we got started with no issues or concerns. It was a simple dark red color with a pointy shape. It took her so long to do the shape that we didn't even get started to the color until well after 7:30! There was no one else left in the salon except my grandmother and I (who literally got her manicure/pedicure/eyebrows waxed all before my tech even got to the color) and one other client finishing up her nails. Finally we get to the color and apparently what I wanted was some major issue because they didn't have the color that was in my picture. She started to put a black base on with a red color on top?? If that was an issue, she should have told me from the very START when I initially showed her my reference. I wasn't trying to be difficult or make her job any harder but what she was doing was simply NOT what I wanted and I could tell it was making her frustrated that I didn't like what she was trying. She kept huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes when she tried something else that I didn't like and kept giving me major attitude. She probably was upset that she went over so much later than closing time and took out on me but I literally had no idea what she was trying to do, I just wanted a deep red color. I wanted this experience to just be over, so I suggested I just pick a random red color from the swatches they had and called it a day. I picked a color out of panic since she was literally rushing me and I ended up hating it the second she put it on but I felt I couldn't say anything and make her change it since she was being so nasty to me about the whole thing!! Once she was done with the color, I barely got out of my seat before she started aggressively cleaning her station and yelling at the other girl that was there finishing up someone else's nails. Aside from her nasty attitude, I looked at my nails and they were GOD AWFUL. Every single one of my nails on my left hand were longer than the ones on my right, they were wonky and ugly. She straight up cut my finger with mini scissors when she was making the shape and didn't even clean it off/sanitize properly, she only cleaned it off with a paper towel. The girl who checked me out didn't even want to hear my complaints, she acted like she wasn't even listening. This place is horrible. Just straight up horrible. One of the times I went to get my acrylics taken off, I wanted just clear polish put on after and she they didn't file, cut or give me any of the other perks of a manicure and she still charged me full price!!!! When I questioned why I was getting charged so much money for my nails being taken off plus a manicure service she told me putting the clear polish counted as a full service even though she didn't do anything else in the service except put one coat of clear polish on. The lady then told me to please hold and instead of doing that, I heard what she had to say to her coworkers. I explained that it was my birthday and I could not wait. GPS said I would be there at 6:09 pm so they gave me a 6:15 pm appointment. When I got there the owner took me to a pedicure station, turned on the water and told me someone would be with me soon. By 6:50 pm NO ONE had even started my pedicure, my feet were in cold water and the owner NEVER said anything! I left with my feet wet and no pedicure. I came here looking for a gel manicure. A number of things went wrong. First if all, they didn't take me until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. After sitting down they moved me twice because they couldn't figure out who was going to do my nails. I was very patient with this. After examining what I wanted done. My nail technician tried to upsell everything she could to me. After I denied the products I did not want, she continued to file my nails down to paper thin. She made me bleed & got the gel polish all over my fingers which 2 days later still won't come off. My nails are bending, cracking and I can't do anything without one almost breaking. I called to tell them this problem. Their response was that it was my fault for the shape and design I picked. They refused to fix it for me. If I could give them less than one star I would. This was already a $60 manicure & if I accepted all of her upselling it would have been about $80. My nails are not the quality of a $60 manicure and it's at the fault of hot tips. They are over priced, rude and unorganized. Don't let the photos on the website fool you. This place is not worth the time or money. This was a huge waste of my time and money. I never write reviews no matter how bad the experience I get. But today I had too Iv been going to this place to get my eyebrows and my nails done! And I have never been disappointed and disrespected like today in my life! I went for simply full set ombré and it took them almost 3 hours doing it they didn't know what they were doing and on top of that the Manager the guy that works there was so rude to me because I complained about the service and that I had to wait for so long and I end up with horrible ombré! Each time i've been to this ' salon ' I've experienced unacceptable service . my first visit experience- I was referred to this salon by an old co-worker of mine. So I called to make an appointment on a Thursday at 4pm. Once arriving at the location around 3:55pm , I checked in at the front desk and was told to have a seat . I then proceeded to sit there (waiting) for a total of approximately 80mins .. As I was waiting, I spoke to another perspective client of theirs that was also trying them out for the first time . She had an appointment for 4:30pm . We discussed how it did not seem right to keep new clients waiting well past their scheduled appointment . The techs also proceeded to take 3 other WALK IN clients during my waited time . Finally around 5:03pm they called the other disappointed client i was previously speaking to , to a chair with a tech .. So here I am, a client that had an appointment 30mins before hers .. still waiting to be called to a seat with a tech . Around 5:20 I was finally told to sit down with my scheduled tech . She then proceeded to tell me " Oh i didn't know you were here " .. guess checking in at the front desk wasn't enough of a green light for them . Not too sure what the point of making an appointment is , if you're actually not going to be serviced until 80 mins AFTER your scheduled time .. not to mention , there was no apology or sympathetic words exchanged between the management and I . my second experience - After my unfortunate prolonged ' appointment ' with this salon .. I decided to give them a second chance .. I work in retail, so I know that some days are just chaotic . This time I made an appointment with one of the OWNERS . I was greeted as I walked through the doors, checked in and immediately told to sit down at his table. We were off to a good start! I began to explain the nail color and designs I wanted .. all of which were pretty simple compared to the designs they display throughout the salon . As he started the process , I began to feel rushed .. he had cut me 3 different times within the first 15mins . He then proceeded to sloppily put on the pieces to one of the designs I wanted . Fast-forward to the day after getting my nails done .. the ' pieces ' that i had mentioned previously , were now peeling off and started to take color to any dust or dirt my hands had come in contact with . Then later the next day I realized my pink nails had started to get a blackish brown haze to them in certain spots .. Not too sure what would cause something like that to happen .. but I was not happy . But the best is yet to come . Now three days after getting my nails done at Hot Tips, my boyfriend proposed to me .. Horrified with my nails , I was mortified to show off my new beautiful ring to most people that asked to see it . It was such a shame . Another poor experience with Hot Tips. my third and FINAL experience - This is a week and a half after my last experience. I was tired of feeling embarrassed with my sloppy and rushed nail job . I was tired of being reluctant due to the horrible nail display , when showing off my engagement ring . So I called Hot Tips once more and explained what had happened with my nails and that I would really appreciate a simple polish change . I also let them know i wanted a small simple design because of Halloween coming up. She told me it would be $15. Honestly I was hoping after hearing how disappointed I was with the OWNER'S work, they would at least offer to change my polish for free, or at least at a discounted rate due to me being unsatisfied. They also told me that the owners don't bother with ' polish changes ' so I would have to settle for someone else this time . Reluctantly I decided to make the appointment anyway. Once arriving, checking in and being seated, I proceeded to show the tech the basic color and simple design I wanted. She then had what it seemed to be, a very hard time executing the said design . Growing very frustrated, I waiting for her to finish. I then got up and walked to the front counter to pay for my again, disappointing nails. I was then told I was being charged $25..... $10 more than what I was previously told. Extremely agitated, I paid and walked out. That was it for me. Three strikes and you're out . I am incredibly disappointed and dissatisfied with the dishonest and poor service of this das excuse for a salon . I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy . Even the owner's aren't capable of performing well.. and that is alarming. I had high hopes for this establishment and they crashed and burned . They did an okay job. My all white pedicure is a little sloppy but that's what you get with white. I went in to get a new set of tips and they had issues taking mine off from before. But overall it took about an hour and a half for a set of white new tips with a rose gold accent finger. The white cake out opaque but in the gel their are lots of tiny air bubbles which is weird. They also cut the tips really short. And some of the polish was uneven. A lady was mad and asked for her money back so the environment got a little weird for a few minutes but other than that it was just okay. I usually really like the way the nail techs at this salon do my nails and scheduled an appointment to get a design. Maybe it's my fault for choosing a sparkly "jelly nails" design they couldn't do but I was told they couldn't do it because it's was just regular gel polish, this isn't really a bad thing in itself since I was okay with just doing another design but I guess I pissed the nail tech off? While doing my nails and talking to her colleague she said (in Spanish) that I had fingers like a boy which while kinda true really hurt my feelings for no real reason. I wasn't being mean or anything to her so I'm not exactly sure why she's make that comment or why'd she think I couldn't understand what she was saying. The only reason I hadn't said anything is because I don't have the best hearing and know that there is at least a small possibility that she wasn't talking about me. It's definitely a cool looking place and they seem to specialize in intricate designs and stuff you'd find on Pinterest. That said, I was just looking for a good pedicure. They use these sterile metal bowls which are more sanitary and that's good, but the chairs and pedicure itself were among the worst I'd received. For $20, the pedicure consisted of bare minimal maintenance and polish. For $10 extra you could add a massage and whatever else - that come standard everywhere else I've been for that price and they have massage chairs to sit in! Not to mention, other places I've been line their tub with removable plastic so it's just as sanitary. My gel manicure was sub par at best. It's sloppy and thick and when I left the polish was on my skin all around my cuticles. If you're looking to do something really stylized and intricate with your nails, it seems like a good place but for a standard mani/pedi, take a pass. read more

Went Here for the first time ever and the woman who did my nails did a great job, but after I left and got home I looked at my nails again and realized that the gel in the fill in was bubbling up and making blemishes under the color. The next day I called to see if I could come in and get my nails fixed and the woman who answered the phone said OK. When I got to the salon the same woman that was on the phone told me that it would be $20 if I want to change the color that I had on my nails, and I said to her why would I pay $20 to get a new color if the color I have right now is bubbling up? There's something wrong with your product. She told me it would be no charge if I got the same color but $20 if I got a new color which makes no sense. After I told her I would pay the $20 she tells me oh you have to pay in cash,cash only today. I used my card to pay the day before and explained that. I saw three other people pay with their cards. I said to the woman it would've been smart to tell me I have to pay in cash when I came in or before I sat down and started my nails, she told me I offended her by saying it would've been smart for her to tell me that when that's common sense. Their ATM was broken so I had to walk down and use the ATM at a diner and come back. When I came back she said you have to pay now. Once again we got into an argument about why I have to pay first. I cannot believe I am even rating this one star. First off, the lady at the desk is EXTREMELY rude. I got my nails done and they didn't come out how I wanted at all. Well my daughter has been coming to this place for 10 months & all 10 nails held on strong and they were cute that's why 2 star.. she finally convinced me to come with her assuming I was going to love the place. Well the ambience is very sheek attractive for young women not that I'm old just alluring for the younger women the Decor that is... I chose a regular pedicure with a foot spa and when I get my feet done I like to sit comfortably but they have these fancy contemporary chairs which weren't comfortable at all and this girl comes with a metal bucket to soak my feet my legs had to be position at 90 degree angle for the entire session it was very uncomfortable she didn't even ask if I was ok & i was beginning to cramp up but I dealt with it she was rough and she wouldn't even listen she had headphones in her ear singing to some Spanish music and I didn't feel the connection so I never been back until I spotted a better nail salon in mountain lakes made an appt. and convinced my daughter to try them they also do those fancy matte decor she likes she 20 and I won because now she loves them actually the lady took such good care of her nails and noticed She had 2 fingers that was developing fungus and inform her full nail covered she place tips on those to nails and told her if they fall off in a week come back at no charge and she'll also look at them to see how they look .. This is the second time I've been to hot tips nail Lounge for a mani pedi. The first time my only complaint was that I waited too long . This second time I liked my nail technician for Mami/ pedi but the owner lady was very rude . We were mid Mani and the owner said to he nail tech and myself that we have to get up and move to the next nail station . So we did and uncomfortably since I'm 28 weeks pregnant . There were several other empty nail stations so I thought that was weird . She had a non paying customer sit where we were sitting just so she can sit next to her friend who was getting gel nails . Lost points there then when I was Paying the owner didn't ask me if I wanted to do credit or debit she automatically did debit which I never use so I don't remember the password and she snickered at me becuase she had to cancel it on her cheap pin pad and after she did we proceeded . Lastly I asked her about her nail colors if any of the brands were toxin free / organic like zoya,karma and opi. She said all nail polishes are organic and toxin free that's what we learn in school . I corrected her to say that's not true there is fromaldehyde , dhp, etc in most nail polishes . She had no idea . I usually go to karma in ridgewood or looma spa in ledgewood that has these toxin free options . The bad reviews I'm seeing seem to mostly be about a fluke experience or them being uncomfortable around the owner yelling at employees in front of them.. Honestly, I've been coming here for fills consistently for a handful of months now and the fact of the matter is, I've always loved my nails. I guess it's a personality thing, but make my nails look good (which is the sole reason you go there in the first place) and I don't care what you do in the meantime. If it were possible to give this salon ZERO stars i would. the salon is beautiful, the ambiance is very nice but the staff is repulsive. i have visited this salon and most of the time my needs are met and fulfilled and i leave a somewhat happy customer (minus the fact the nail techs take FOREVER). Yesterday i visited the salon and I was completely and utterly disappointed in the service i was given. To begin I was in the chair (nail and pedicure) for a total of FOUR hours. I had to soak, get a new full set and get a pedicure. Any other salon that takes 1.5 hours - 2 hours. After talking to the "nice" woman about life- I informed her my birthday was next week. She was excited and suggested I get this "pretty color that will look good on your skin" She brought over the colors and convinced me! Great? Think again. The nail tech told me in order to get the color i HAD to get gel (which was not true). She also did not disclose that the color she suggested cost an extra $25 dollars ($10 for gel and $15 for the actual color) which totaled $50 for both my nails and feet. At the end of my nails, I wanted to get my pedicure done by the same woman- management told me (a paying customer) she could not "we have a system here honey. the woman who does fill-in's, can't do your pedicure" ..I should have left then but i wanted my nails to match my toes. I stayed anyways after the rude remark and I was disappointed. The nail tech who was working on my toes took 1hr and 30 mins for a REGULAR pedicure. The black coat she kept on putting on my toes - was bubbling. After several failed attempts I told her I needed to leave, because I had work soon. After she finally "got it" I gave the receptionist my card to swipe. The receptionist brought back my receipt of $115 dollars. I was taken aback and asked for a breakdown of the services. I informed her I was not given any information about extra fees. I was very disappointed and left the salon before i flipped out. Fast forward to a couple hours later and my big toe is ruined, the pedicure is sloppy and my nails are showing the black through the chrome color. I called very disappointed, expressing my frustration about being bamboozled into paying $115 and it not even being done correctly. She apologized and told me "i will have a talk with her about that" . I requested a refund and I was told "all sales are final" . I told the salon i would never do business again with them and that I would be calling my bank to reverse the charges. The woman started saying "that isn't fair to us. you were here for four hours" etc. All in all I would NEVER suggest this salon. Take your business elsewhere! read more

Although they do your nails beautifully, the customer service is terrible! They constantly argue with their own customers. And if not with the customers, they argue in front of them. Leaving your clients highly uncomfortable. I've witnessed techs leave this place time in and time out. If you do not mind the loud arguing, to each his own. read more

I have been a loyal customer since this place has opened. I've referred several clients and would like to shoutout Nina for her amazing job on my nails. However I am giving this place one star due to the rude receptionist that goes by the name of Mary Beth. She talks down to clients and is not accommodating. She acts as if we are inconveniencing her anytime she is approached. I work in customer Service myself so it's insulting to me because I would ever treat my customers the way she does. I am appalled at the way she treats me every time I walk in there, and even when I try to schedule my appointment She talks down to me as if I am a second class citizen. It's just rude and unbecoming. It's a shame because Nina does fabulous work. I took out all my future appointments and my friends have done the same. She's needs a good lesson in proper customer service! read more

I wish i was allowed to give less than one star. Honestly i called to make an appointment the owner answers the phone EXTREMELY NASTY. when i asked her why she was speaking to me so rudely she said "because she is having a hard time hearing me wearing a mask". Last time i checked that is not an excuse to be rude, nor does a mask cover your ears. I come religiously every 2 weeks and give a $30 tip every time since i work in the industry as well. And now i will not be giving these nasty people my money. You lost a loyal customer. Disgusting. read more

Truly the worst experience I have ever had. I made an appointment for when they opened on Friday (10 AM, wasn't super packed at all) & at first, they did both my manicure & pedicure at the same time. 1) They cut up my feet & hands, 2) The water from my hands was thrown directly into the pedicure water, & 3) At a certain point, the manicurist finally switched me to a table after the manicure was clearly less than satisfactory. Will never go back here, my manicure didn't even last a week. read more
