I wish I had paid attention to the negative reviews before going with Hot Tub Tony's. These folk seem nice when they are trying to make a sale, but after that they will not return your calls. They simply don't want to take responsibility for their products and services. During installation they damaged my wall. And the product itself (an indoor sauna) seems to have a defect. They don't care. Not only that, but I believe that I had been purposely misled by their sales agent in order to make the sale in the first place. My next step will be legal action. I strongly suggest you save yourself the aggravation and look elsewhere. read more

I purchased a home that had a hot tub installed by Hot Tub Tonys. The CalSpa brand has limited licensed service providers in the Chicago area so my support options were limited to them within a 30 mile radius of O'Hare airport. In the past 5 months I have had to have Hot Tub Tony's come to my property 3 times. On each of the occasions, emails and phone calls for support averaged over a week to get any response back. It took nearly 3 weeks to get a response of any kind regarding a blown heater during a recent cold spell. I've had issues with heaters, pumps and temperature regulation. No prices outside of a trip charge were communicated until after the technician left, including requests for warranty repairs that were not honored after I took possession of the property. I am still having issues with the spa and they company isn't standing by the work they have performed either at the original point of sale, or after new equipment was installed at my expense. I have tried to get support from Tony or ownership and told it wasn't necessary for him to follow up. The company can not keep up with the maintenance of the products they sell. The communication is the worst I have experienced with a small business, including using an AI answering service that is not intuitive and apparently goes to no one to answer all inbound service requests. I can't speak for the sales team, although those are the only people that answer the phone. Beyond that the follow up, quality of service, communication and price transparency are all missing the mark. I would recommend buying a product that has more service provider options (not CalSpa for Illinois) and a different company to service and maintain spas. read more

I've never written a review for any business before, but my experience with Hot Tub Tony's has been so bad I feel compelled to try and save others from the horrible experience I'm having. The only reason I'm giving even one star is because the kid who does the cleanings is nice and does a good job. Otherwise I wouldn't even give the one star. I've had my hot tub for about 3 1/2 years and have multiple issues with it. I have been waiting on repair for over a year and a half. At this point Matt in service is just ignoring my calls. I've left him at least 20 messages for over 6 months and he refuses to take my calls or reply. I called again yesterday and was told the issue would be taken directly to Tony to get this taken care of, but here I sit with a non-functioning hot tub that is growing mold at this point and still no call. In all my life - I have never seen a company that is less responsive. I have a 10 person hot-tub, and a pool. I needed service 4 years ago and called, called, called - always promised to be called back and eventually gave up and found other service. Everything was fine - but then my main motor went out - and get this, Hot Tub Tony's is literally 5 minutes from where I live, so in a quick fix - i decided to try again. It's been 3 weeks. The admin is super sweet and will tell you they are busy and it may take a while to get back reluctantly (kinda knowing they are lazy) - and I write this after days of nothing back. Okay Hot Tub Tony's let's get this started. Since you refused to return our calls after you destroyed our hot tub, I have no choice but to write a review. We called Hot Tub Tony's when our hot tub was leaking and they sent out their guys. To find out the problem, they filled the hot tub with water (it was empty). Before leaving, they neglected to drain the water that they filled it with and it froze the pipes since it was winter. We called endless times to tell them that they needed to come fix the issue they created, and to our surprise we got no call back. We were left with no choice but to remove the hot tub. Years of memories, and thousands of dollars down the drain all because these people couldn't have the decency to call us back and fix a problem they created? Last week I watched my hot tub get torn out of the ground, only left thinking about what it could have been. That's okay, this experience has told me all I need to know about the morals and values of this business. I will continue to spread this useful information forward to my friends, family, and anyone who posts on Facebook asking for recommendations. You mess with the bull you get the horns. read more

Purchased a 12 person party/swim spa from Hot Tub Tony. We are so happy with the whole experience. From shopping to installation. Tony and Matt were nice and curdious and always kept my wife and I updated with delivery. Also the two Tony's that installed it for us were great too. At first the spa did not work. Perseverance. That is the word I will use to describe Hot Tub Tony's. We have a hot tub that is pretty old. The logic board and subsequently the heater died this winter and finding parts to repair our hot tub was difficult. Although it took some time, Matt kept searching to find the parts and we are now up and running. I had no idea how enjoyable a hot tub was until we bought a house with one. Matt and his team delivered a Challenger Designs cart which was a replacement for my original cart that was damaged by another the dealer when they attempted to perform a warranty repair. Challenger Designs shipped the cart to Hot Tub Tony's and they delivered it, installed the XL Egg and took the old cart away. Matt even adjusted the band on the Egg as well. We are a hot tub loving household. We are in it every day unless it's raining! When it broke Matt quickly identified the problem and ordered the part. I guess it was the main operating board...kind of like in a computer. It was installed today and the technician was very helpful explaining everything to us and showing us things we needed to know. We also decided to get a new cover and bar system. It's like a brand new tub! We order a tub/spa from Hot Tub Tony, and we are very pleased. The main reason we wanted someone local and not a big chain store is because we wanted to have that customer service and a live person to talk to in case we needed anything, Let me tell you the process was easy, installation was on time and very professional. We had a new deck so we could not get the spa filled until the electrical was set up, so we needed then to come a second time to show me how to keep our spa clean and to show me how to do the chemicals. His nephew came out and took the time to show me step by step and I will be using them for quarterly service. Could not be happier! read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but in this case I think it's appropriate. It's not everyday that you find good old fashioned handshake businesses anymore. Their pricing is fair, competitive and it comes with professional advice that provides the information you need to make a proper decision. I like the fact that they carry many brands with just about all the features you could want. They don't care what you buy, but they do care that it's top quality and is suitable for you and the budget. I had head a lot of talk about salt systems, but after getting the lowdown it turns out that there aren't as many benefits as I was told elsewhere. I first met Tony when I was looking for big green egg accessories (a top of the line smoker, Tony is an authorized dealer) for my father. Not only does Tony carry smokers and hot tubs, he has all the accessories you may need/want. His store is full of things I want to buy and if he is missing something he will order it for you right away. When I could afford my own big green egg I bought a large from him. I eventually also bought a hot tub. Tony and his staff are very knowledgeable about the products they carry, the proper way to use and care for them, key differences among brands, and they are patient when explaining it to you. They also install the items they sell, offer pool opening, cleaning, and closing services, and sell the chemicals to keep your pool and run clean. With apologies to my wife, I think Tony may be my soul mate. I love his store. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. They do not follow through on verbal promises, so be sure to get everything in writing! They sold us a pool in the Fall and were unable to find us installers. We just got the pool installed at the end of July, by finally finding our own installers. They dumped all the pool boxes in early April, to be stored in our garage. They didn't have room. They gave us the wrong ladder and charged us for a pool cover, Tony verbally said he'd give us for free. They have never once apologized or addressed all of our issues. They were happy to have nearly 10K of our money and then wash their hands of us. They refuse to address issues, by blocking us on messenger and Facebook now. They took down an unhappy post..so I guess they pick and choose what people say. We would have been better off going with a big company that would have actually installed the pool. Poor customer service! Promised a cover for the pool if I would take down my review.(The one Tony originally promised for free. We also had to replace the ladder at our cost. read more

Worst 15 MONTH experience of my life. Purchased home that had existing hottub. Talked to them about fixing it, had a leak from improper winterizing. Everything else worked fine. They took 15 months to deliver, back, wanted money before delivery, never showed any progress report, never gave me invoice, propsal or any paperwork this whole time. I am very patient and honorable and waited this all out with Matt. If it wasnt for me stopping by there shop I would get no updates. Once dropped off, it still leaks, also is completely dirty (Matt says they polished and shined it up real good) and my speakers now dont work. Trying to communicate this to them and no response, instead I get a letter of intent to file a Lien on my property and NOW an invoice thatvis 500 more then what we agreed upon. Ok, fine, here is your money cause I do the right thing. You, however, DO NOT. Claims to be a Small business but more crooked then Great Escape. Purchased a new Dimension One Spa, Dream model. I had a very pleasant experience purchasing a new hot tub. I delt with a non pressure salesman named Gregg. He was knowledgeable on the hot tubs, gave an excellent price and easy 36 month / 0% financing. I did online shopping prior and Tony's Hot Tubs had the best price with the best financing. The tub was then delivered 2 days later by friendly and professional installers. Their electrician hooked it up for a small fee and it was ready to go. Very seamless transaction and I am very happy. They explained the 5 year warranty on shell and 3 years on everything else. There is a small $99 deductible fee, on the service calls but everything after this is covered. Then I had a nice call a day after the install from the owner, Tony. He made sure everything was to my satisfaction. Expect quality, values and high customer service with this outstanding company. Long story.....A few weeks ago I went about buying my husband the Big Green Egg grill for a surprise for his birthday. I went to a local retailer (who I shall not name) two weeks ago. They told me they had it in stock and would deliver it this past Friday. Well fast forward to Thursday afternoon I get a phone call from this retailer who tells me they no longer have it in stock and can't deliver it for his surprise. I asked them to fix it and said I was counting on this surprise as we had people who were coming over to enjoy the grill! He, not nicely, tells me there's nothing he can do, but he can offer me a damaged one for 10% off. Why would I want a damaged grill?! He also suggests *I* could drive to their other location and pick up a new one. Umm no! You told me I'd have a grill by Friday . Why are you calling me and telling me you don't have one 12 hours before it's supposed to be delivered? I hang up with them without a resolution and look for another retailer. I end up calling Hot Tub Tony's in Geneva. I talk to a guy named Matt. I explain the situation. And he immediately says "I will have a grill out to you tomorrow morning by 9:45. I will throw in some extras things your husband may need (charcoal, grilling tools) and I'll wave the delivery fee. My guys will take care of you!" Sure enough the grill was delivered at 9:45. The delivery guys were some younger boys, but they were so professional and even showed me how to use it. He took my credit card over the phone I didn't even have to go in! Staff is very knowledgeable on how best to use the smoker and is very easy to talk to. They carry different types of pellets, Texas Style, Premium and Applewood.
