    Horrible attitude

Rude! From start to finish, approached the food stand and they had a rude face and didn't even ven ask what we wanted, I had to step up and ask more of what they offered! Our first time and it will be out last one. The girls here need to learn customer service, you loose customers that way and if owner doesn't care? Oh well, more negative reviews coming Hotdogs weren't as great as many say, I antes to try them out and already did which wasn't thrilled.

Thank you Yelp for this gem! Hotdogs Alvarado is a roadside Sonoran hot dog stand right off Interstate 10 near Eloy. They open at noon and only serve hot dogs and canned drinks. Parking is a large lot but try and park downwind to keep the dust down. They only serve Sonoran hot dogs, but they are awesome. It is a bacon wrapped hot dog topped with beans, onions, and probably a crema sauce. It is served in a fresh grilled bun almost like a New England lobster roll. It is cash only so bring cash! The hot dogs are damn good. Good balance of flavors and textures. They are small so I recommend ordering at least two if not more. The stand is very basic with limited outdoor seating under a canopy. There are no facilities here but there is a truck stop across the street. This is a great find along the open highway between Tucson and Phoenix. It is not fancy but the food is great and worth a stop.

I tried this road-side stand in 2023 while visiting AZ. Made such an impression that a year later, for my birthday lunch no less, I sought out this place again! Was thrilled they were just as tasty as I remembered!! Nothing fancy about the place but my oh my - the delicious buns & fancy toppings were off the charts & dogs were charred to perfection. Arrived just after 11 AM on a Saturday, no line so very quick service. $25 for 4 dogs & two drinks. We ate at the tables & watched the semi trucks exiting the wash. I almost finished 2 hot dogs but it was too filling. Fun & satisfying.

Cash only, super friendly en Español, outdoor food cart with seating and damn solid hot dogs. Sonoran only. Great buns. Super flavor. I wish it had a roasted pepper with it but hey, its worth the stop.

Sonoran Hotdog bacon wrapped, fresh grilled torta bun, toppings: ketchup mustard guac beans mayo looks like maybe pico and onions.

8/29/2020 Food "truck" on Sunshine exit 208 off I -10 across the street from Flying J next to Blue Beacon Truck Wash M-sat 10-8 Sonoran Hotdogs $4ea cash only Very very good Sonoran hotdog! Typical size bacon wrapped fresh grilled torta bun. No seating. Cold canned beverages available. We were here at noon and it was a little busy from the surrounding businesses. I'm glad we ate them in the parking lot because we immediately bought more

Was so eager to try it, I forgot to take a photo before I took a bite :)

This was my second time having a Sonoran Dog and my wife's first - neither of us was disappointed! Lots of flavor in the dog, which was charred to perfection, as well as all the condiments. We had them loaded with everything except ketchup (I had ketchup on everything as a kid and now I can't stand it on anything!). Everything is packed nicely into a toasted bun that is part hotdog bun, part hoagie roll. We wouldn't necessarily go out of our way to have it again, but we would definitely stop there if we were passing through. At $3 a piece, you can't beat the flavor-value ratio.

I missed the El Guero Canelo in Tucson so I pulled out yelp app and searched Sonoran dog and this place happened to be on the way to Phoenix. I wasn't aware it is a hot dog stand not a restaurant until I pull off the freeway and looked around. It's across street from the gas station, opposite side of the map pointer. Ordered 2 with everything on it, $3 each, It took a while to make, with care, You can see the dude who was making it with concentration and moving around adding this and that. I never know it takes so much effort to make a Sonoran dog! I didn't get a chance to eat it after almost 12 hours but it's still so good. Two other people who never had it before I shared with loved the taste too. I should had got a dozen! If you never had it, go try it! I don't think we can find anything like this in California, at least not as I know of.

    Awesome dogs!

Awesome little hotdog stand near a truckstop and Denny's. Well worth the stop. Friendly service and quick food that is really, really good.

Favorite place and it's right on the side of the rd. Support local family food trucks. It's where Arizona has the best food.

Not what I expected with Sonoran Dogs. Their variation was okay, but not to the standard of your top notch Sonoran Dogs.

If you've never had a real Sonoran hot dog, you might think it's amazing. But if you've had the real thing, this isn't it. Every time I've come here, the bread has been dry, stale, or just plain mediocre. A great Sonoran hot dog starts with fresh, soft bread, and they can't even get that right. If you're looking for a real Sonoran hot dog, go to El Nene--or BK if you have to. In my opinion, El Nene is the best of the three. We also ordered a burrito and specifically asked for shredded beef. The girl taking our order looked confused when we said it, but she repeated, "Okay, shredded beef," as she entered the order. I remember thinking to myself, "There's about a 37% chance she's getting this right." So we said it again: "Shredded beef." She replied, "Yes." At that point, my confidence dropped to about 22%. There was no way we were actually getting shredded beef. Sure enough, we got a carne asada burrito. All we could do was laugh. I took it back to the nice girl at the pickup counter and explained that we had ordered shredded beef. She apologized and told me they only make carne asada burritos. I just laughed again and said, "Okay, thank you very much." She was very nice, and I could tell she saw I was frustrated, but I was already expecting that answer. The burrito had more fat than I cared for, so we ended up throwing it away. So why did we come here in the first place? El Nene was closed, and I didn't feel like going to BK because I didn't want to eat with blasting music in my ears. So I figured, "Screw it, let's just go here." That turned out to be a mistake. Now, I'm not giving this place one star because I don't think that's justified. I'll give it three stars because the restaurant is clean, the salsa bar is always well kept, they provide complimentary grilled onions and chiles, and everyone working there has always been friendly. One last thing: if you're going to advertise bacon-wrapped chiles, don't half-do them like the ones we got. That's just ridiculous. And please...order the larger Coke bottles. What's with the tiny ones? It's like buying one of those sample cups they hand out at Costco on the weekends. It's oddly frustrating, especially when you're paying restaurant prices. This place used to be good, but now it's just disappointing. Everyone's taste buds are different, and you may end up loving it. I don't, and I can't recommend it when there are much better local options nearby.
