We were in awhile back and I ordered a hamburger with fries and everything was disgusting , Very poorly made and the temperatures weren't were they should have been. Everything was cold and poorly made. a friend of mine ordered the shrimp and fries and it was so greasy and gross and no sauce was added to the order we placed. Very disappointing and poor workmanship. I can't believe someone would actually send this kind of food out. Anymore it's as no one cares and it's a shame that society has become a different nobody cares mode anymore. That's why we have so much hate and shame towards one another. The employee, Ray, was awesome. He offered hacks for the sandwich I wanted, recommended the A&W zero soda (which was delicious) and was very quick getting the large order ready. The burgers were yummy, we loved the Papa burger with Bacon. The strawberry was well liked by the grandkids, papa should have got 2. The onion rings are fantastic, just saying. This is the very first time I've had the pleasure of eating / drinking A&W in Arizona. All the ones in the valley have been closed many years. I thought this was the only one in Arizona (but it turns out there's one in Tucson as well) Eloy is exactly one hour from Tucson and one hour from Mesa. This a&w was connected to a gas station / travel convenience store and also had a sbarro and a Taco Bell attached to the strip. I waited for someone to take my order for almost 10 minutes. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger and they put no bacon on it. The lady who took my order was very polite and helpful. They just brought back frosted mugs last week! So I was given my root beer in a frosted mug! and got like 4 refills Then I also got a gallon to take home. In Michigan when I go to a&w, the full gallons are anywhere from 10-$15! I went here for a root beer drink on my way to Tucson. It was delicious and cheap. Great refreshing drink. The restaurant was in a travel center with other businesses. It looks rough from the outside and it was hard to find due to not a lot of signs. I drove past the gas station and found it. Roads are rough, fyi. read more

Nice location, clean and condiments were well stocked. Dining area was clean and they have ample seating. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Things have obviously changed since my last review. They now do make their root beer fresh on the premises with cane sugar, and they tout that on signs. That's a great improvement. Also, they now sell their root beer in gallons and 1/2 gallons like their stand alone stores do. Great news! And I bought a gallon to take home. Their menu is a full A&W menu. A&W is one of the first chains to have a bacon cheeseburger on their menu and it is still one of the best. Can't beat their Coney Dogs with cheese, either. Oh, and I think they have some of the best onion rings on the planet. Top it off with a mug of their root beer. Or a Freeze, which is what we had. A Freeze is root beer with soft serve ice cream blended in. A root beer shake, if you will. And boy, is it good! The service was a bit slow, but not overly slow for an A&W. One guy working the counter at almost 10:00 p.m. with one cooking. This would be a good place to stop on the way to or from Phoenix. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. The food is made to order and tastes amazing. Homage root beer for that amazing root beer floats.

So I placed an order at 7:35 PM and at 7:55 PM I jokingly asked the cashier if they had forgotten about my order he went to go check and came back letting me know that they haven't even started my order of two sliders, and an order of large fries, that was it I was looking forward to that but seeing like five customers pay and received their food before me and finding out that they haven't even started my order caused me to ask for a refund I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. My husband loves A&W. He always stops into one every chance he gets. We deicided to make an unplanned roadtrip to LA.. This was basicallt right off the freeway. There was also a taco bell next to A&W. My husband managed to get both foods and be in and out within less than ten mins. I got the bacon cheeseburger with extra onions and it was so good, I didn't get a chance to take a photo of it. I don't know about the service. But being from California, i do notice that the food quality in AZ is better. read more

My wife and I stopped at the TravelCenters of America Truck stop in Eloy, AZ on our way to Tucson. TA had a full service restaurant and two fast food establishments: a Taco Bell and A&W. We decided on A&W because the chili dogs looked good on the menu. We both ordered the foot long chili dog with chili cheese fries. This was without a doubt, the worst chili dog I have ever tried to eat. I had better than this in the Army. The bun was old and crumbly, the meat was tough and chewy, the chili came straight out of a can, and everything was luke warn and got cold real quick. We both took a few bites then chunked the whole mess. I would not recommend the A&W at this location. Head on down the road to McDonalds or Burger king. At least they are consistent and you know what you're getting. read more
