We have quite a pleasant stay and won't mind returning when we visit the area again. Staff is very friendly, the room is spacious and I love how they have lots of outlets for the modern electronic lifestyle. It's a small hotel, not much of a lobby to speak of, there's the check in desk and a simple dining area. Breakfast is ok with standard fare: some pancakes, omelette for hot food, a variety of bread, cereal and fruit. They do offer tea, coffee and juices around the clock, a much appreciated gesture. The hotel is a short drive from the airport, and there is a good selection of restaurants within a few miles. They have a private parking lot for guests, but it's not very big, so if you stay out late you may have to find parking on the streets. read more

Super nice front desk. I believe the older Indian gentleman is the owner. Super nice and courteous. They offer free breakfast, airport shuttle and 24/7 coffee/tea service and free parking. Room cleaning is (I believe) every other day?. We stayed 3 nites and did not receive any room cleaning. We asked the front desk to clean which was a lady at the time. She said she needed to check.. Not sure what she is checking..maybe whether we qualify for a cleaning. Anyways we went out came back and still not cleaned. We told to her to forget about it. The breakfast was not good. I would not consider the premade (unsealed) pancake in the fridge or the frozen reheated omelette type thingy as edible. The edibles are; Box cereal Envelope oatmeal Apple 1 Sealed/wrapped pastry (not sure what kind) sliced bread white/wheat Yogurt (flavored only, no plain) I'm not a big eater so it was fine but my travel companions were not happy. For me the the coffee broke me. It was horrendous. It was like water but water is better. Can't describe it . Despite being on main road there is not a walkable place you can get to for better coffee. The shuttle is independent and we took the 4:05am shuttle for our 6:39am flight. Booked 3 days in advance of our arrival, received confirmation for our purchase. Drove 6 hours from Northern CA to arrive and be told we had no room. The ethical choice would have been to call us right away, but the spineless staff emailed us this afternoon to tell us that we did not have a room. Most hotel policies don't give you a refund for canceling within 24 hours of your stay, but if you're Hotel 1550, you can keep their deposit and oversell your capacity to make a buck. Stayed here one night before our flight out of SFO the next morning. Hotel is close to lots of choices for food, but also right on El Camino Real. This is a busy street and traffic noise is noticeable throughout the night. They do have toiletries you can get at the front desk if you've forgotten something. We stayed there primarily because they offer "park and fly". Leave your car, pay less per day than long term parking at SFO. Airport shuttles were on time and drivers were helpful and friendly. The good: Clean and quiet. Friendly people. The Meh: Shoddy breakfast. No halfway healthy cereal. Peanut butter packets were off brand and apparently like 10 years old. The TV was some weird online service and it took me 15 minutes of scrolling through Spanish language channels before I discovered non-dubbed content. The bait and switch: Online said there was a fitness center. There wasn't one. The airport shuttle is shared by like 5 other hotels so it takes forever to get to and from the terminal. And that's before the driver stops for gas with a load of people onboard. It also only operates till 11:00 am. Takeaway: On Priceline this place was 3.5 stars. It wasn't horrible but don't think you're getting anything more than a rebranded $60/night Days Inn. read more

Let's be clear, this is NOT a five-star establishment. But if you want something that you can lay your head down and get a decent night of sleep for a good price, this is the place. So far, we've Hotwired three times, and all three times, we were here. Hotel 1550 is an old Days Inn that got a new name. No obvious upgrades have been done to the place except for dark wood furniture and a big-ish TV, which we don't watch anyway. To be honest, it's kinda skanky. Pro: - It's inexpensive. Hotwire calls it 3 stars. I think 2.5 Stars to possibly 2 Stars is more accurate. - The bed seems clean. - The bathroom seems clean enough. - The front staff guy tends to be nice. - The windows are double layered to block out the noise from El Camino Real. - Free Parking - Free super light breakfast, but another thing I don't care about. Cons: - The bathroom vent does NOT work. As a result, lots of moisture accumulation causing rust on metal fixtures, bulged bathroom door due to moisture, and even dew running down the walls. One out of the 3 rooms, everything was damp in the bathroom including the entire box of facial tissue. - Super old carpets. They are sticky. Bring slippers. - Obvious wear and tear everywhere - holes in light fixtures, chip paints and dents throughout. - Super thin and small towels. Think Motel 6 type of scale. - Inconsistent room amenities - sometimes there's a luggage rack, sometimes not. Sometimes there's a full-length mirror, sometimes not. - Room repairs aren't done. In room of the rooms, the safe is completed unbolted from the closet. This is a you-get-what-you-pay-for hotel room, Bay Area cost, of course. read more

Room is noisy as it's on the El Camino. The air conditioner is warmish, had to crack the window for some freshness. It's record breaking heat for the area and the window upon arrival was left open. The light is bright outside the window. I am hot and miserable and the car noise very disruptive. Everything is not conducive for rest and sleep.The price was a total of 207.00 as an absurd 70. was added for weird stuff. I will never stay here again. We did the park and fly package for our 8 day trip. Hotel 1550 was an affordable option for parking, especially since our flight schedule requires us staying two nights, one on each end of our vacation. Rooms are clean and quiet, with comfy beds. Customer service is excellent! We arrived really late last night, after a delayed flight, and the guy was up waiting for us and cheerful, a refreshing welcome after arriving so tired and flustered from travel issues. I really appreciate that! The park and fly package includes transfers to and from the airport. I was given vouchers for each way. A private "cab" guy picked us up for our departure, but when we got back, I called and obviously had woken him (or someone else?) up, and was refused a ride back to the hotel. I checked Uber; $100+! Yikes. So I called the hotel and they were really nice (again, so appreciated after travel nonsense). They told me to take a cab, and then credited the taxi cost (~$25) back to my credit card immediately upon arrival and check in. Our car was as we had left it, safe and sound. :) They offer a "breakfast," but it's just nutrigrain bars, some packaged pastries, apples, and a juice machine. There is a toaster, though, and with Trader Joe's less than a mile away, we were able to have a better breakfast provided by ourselves. ;) The coffee in the lobby is surprisingly good! read more

We loved this hotel! Stayed the night before we left for Florida.Left my car with them for 5 days and stayed again when we returned. They were friendly and welcoming at our midnight arrival. The room was overall clean, but I can't give higher than two stars because of the regurgitating bathtub. It was loud, dirty, and disgusting. The water was brown and there were bits in it. It is a great hotel, and the staff was friendly, we did not get a complimentary wine like I saw other people get when they checked in. They might have been part of their rewards program though so that's okay. I took two stars away for the beds, you can feel the spring and they are very hard. This was a nice friendly hotel I stayed at for a week while visiting the Bay Area. They were in the process of putting some fresh paint on the wall and tidying up some of the rooms. The rooms were clean and room service comes every other day. The front desk staff was super friendly. They offer a room service menu that is catered off site and delivered. I didn't try the breakfast in the morning it didn't look like much. The only downside to this hotel was the noise. You will hear the trains and planes from SFO if you are on east side of the hotel and at times the rowdy neighbors in the back. The hotel backs up against an apartment complex. The front lobby and staff close from like midnight to 6am? So if you have a late check in I don't think you won't be able to get in. read more

Personally I stayed here to save an extra $20, next time I'll stay at a chain hotel, example Hilton, etc. I did like how it had a fridge and a microwave BUT the vent in the restroom would turn on as it pleases, the AC in the room was broke/ you couldn't adjust it. i don't recommend this hotel to anyone. this place is a bunch of money hungry crooks!! they will take from your credit card and overcharge you cause you'll be long gone before you notice. these people have no clue how to run a hotel. the hallways smell like curry and feet mixed together. their words hold no weight. that's why its always empty and they will always let you check in at all hours of the night cause that's when they steal your money and lie about it. this is a warning to everyone coming to visit san bruno area. don't do it, go down the street to millwood, bayhill inn, or sonesta. its way better and you get what you paid for. read more

I think the hotel and service is great, the rooms are very comfortable and the bed super cozy. I was honesty REALLY SHOCKED that the breakfast was all single use plastic. After eating you throw cups, spoons, plates just in the trash. I get super frustrated seeing this in a hotel, this is not necessary at all. Next to the breakfast area is even a washroom, if they would put a dishwasher in, people who finished eating just put their used ceramic cups in there instead of the trash. It would take 5 min emptying it. I m really sad seeing this and it makes me scared of the future of my children if that is the norm in the US. read more

I had booked this hotel because it had 8 stars and really liked the accommodations the hotel provided. Me and my fiancé would not come back here again. We were mistreated really bad by the front desk and also was extremely unprofessional. He was extremely aggressive. There was some issues with the check out date. While I'm trying to attempt to resolve this misunderstanding.... We were screamed at in front of customers, insulted, belittled and was threatened to have the police come and arrest us quite a few times. Our itinerary dates didn't match. I tried to show the front desk our itinerary and he wouldn't look at my itinerary. Instead of trying to resolve the issue with the booking agent he kept threatening us that he was going to call the police . It was the most horrible experience i ever had and doesn't deserve 8 stars. I would never go here nor recommend anyone else. It ruined my fiancé's birthday vibe . read more

I was surprisingly happy with this hotel because I had a great deal via Hotwire. It had free parking. Air conditioning was strong, no old smell, modern room design and faucets, elevator, headboard light for reading, and very comfy bed. Unfortunately they discontinued breakfast due to COVID but they offer free juice and coffee 24/7. Close to restaurants and 3.5 miles to SF International airport. I would stay there again. read more
