My reference point is comparison to the former Burbank Holiday Inn, purchased by the current Hotel Burbank late last year. Since then, prices have increased, while quality of service and cleanliness has decreased. In 4 stays so far this year, perfunctory bordering on impolite desk staff have been the rule, not the exception. For most stays, I've been sandwiched in next to noisy guests in other rooms, despite ample vacancies. I'm sure this is a good business practice for increasing hotel profits (put as many guests as possible as close together as possible, for housekeeping efficiency), but for creating a pleasant/relaxing visitor experience, it's awful, bordering on insulting. The lobby has been overhauled. The rooms? Not so much, unless you appreciate the aesthetic of spray painting over old toilet seats to give them a fresh new look. The last straw during my latest visit, was stinkweed permeating the corridor of the floor I was on. If the current owners really believe striving for a cold, Amsterdam hostel ambience trumps the former good-value, meat-and-potatoes Burbank Holiday Inn hotel experience, I can only hope the bottom line shows them the error of their ways before they drive the place into the ground. read more

Our ADA room was the furthest room down a long carpeted hallway (200 feet?). 3. Fold-down bath seat was at the back of the bathtub, making grab bars and faucet unreachable. 4. If you sometimes find yourself sleeping on the floor because you can't find a mattress that's firm enough for your needs, then worry no more. These rock hard beds will suit you just fine. There were a couple of times I woke up thinking I had rolled off the bed and was on the floor. Booked a weekend stay here on Booking.com and nowhere on the checkout page (or listing) did it indicate an additional fee to park our car. What a Bait & switch!! Upon checking in to our hotel room we noticed the ambient room temperature was 92 degrees Fahrenheit . Yes, I said 92 degrees. That wasn't a typo! Furthermore, since we checked in at 11pm PST it took till the morning to reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Needless to say we didn't sleep much in such a HOT room. After returning home, I sent Hotel Burbank three emails in an attempt to rectify these situations. It's been almost 2 months and have not heard anything back. We reserved for 5 days, from the moment we arrived it was one issue after another. And all we could do is listen and just have them fix the issue. Everyday there was something new, something that went wrong due to "their system " not working or having some sort of issue. We went to extend the stay and we went downstairs and did the process, went out to get coffee and they called our room and spoke with my minor kids about the room not being booked..like how are you going to call kids and tell them our rooms weren't booked..?? Loved this hotel, you can tell it's been recently renovated by the mix of modern decor and vintage architecture. Chandra, the overnight manager at the front desk, went above and beyond to help us with a small issue we had and resolved it super quickly. I don't understand why this hotel only has 3 stars; in addition to the great customer service, the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. it's also a 8 min drive to Burbank airport and downtown is 3 mins away. highly recommend! read more

I remeber when the first tower of the Holiday Inn Burbank first broke ground... Since I was in need of a hotel room for one night I thought I might give them a try for some nostalgia. We checked in around 3 and after dropping our bags off in the room we headed down to the heated pool, or at least it was advertised as a heated pool. I know that I don't know much in this world but 65 degrees is not considered heated by any means. I finallty figured out why my son and I had the pool to ourselves, it was freezing. Well after that we decided to change things up and headed back to our room. Our room was older with minimal remodeled upgrades, basically it was a 19 story motel. The Burbank Hotel has a lot going for it location wise. In the heart of downtown, you're conveniently located near bars, restaurants, and shops. Hotel employees are very friendly and the rooms are clean. The room I stayed in had a great view of the mountains and beautiful homes I'll never be able to afford to the north. read more

Came here for our 22nd anniversary. Room was great! Clean and very quiet. House keeping was great also. even when we got back to our room every night at around midnight or 1am, someone came to take our trash at that hour and bring fresh towels and toilet paper. Having the Handicap accessible shower needed lots of towels to keep the floor dry otherwise the water goes to the sink. The staff was great and so nice. Check in was easy. I would seriously not come back here, there was blood on our pillows and the room phone was not working and I had to use my cell, when I called the front desk she played it off like it was normal and they would change the pillow cases but I said I wanted new pillows. When the night house keeper came 15mins later she came with some pillow cases she said that they only called her for that. She was very nice and I had no problem with her because she was only the messenger. She went ahead and got new pillows for us. My other problem was the night front desk lady said she would note my complaint and the manager would call me in the am. Once am hit no call cause the room phone didn't work still so I am guessing the night desk lady didn't really put down my complaint. The rooms need some upgrading. Cleaning needs to be improved in the rooms. There was rust on lamps and weird dust balls in the AC unit. Walls look like they never been cleaned. Great location however when it was the Holiday in, the vibe was so much diff. There was nothing in the room to advertise things to do in hotel or food. Shower head barely let out any water. It was a very small stream and you couldn't change the pressure or move the head up or down. read more

Hidden gem located in Burbank. I came here for a drink located on the top floor of the hotel. What a great view of the city! Who new this existed! The lounge wasn't too crowded, so you wouldn't have a hard time finding a spot with a great view. Great selection of well drinks, wine, and beer. There are food options from the downstairs restaurant, however I just had a glass of wine. Great local spot to check out after a long workday. read more

Limited maid service, they would not clean and make up the room, citing staffing issues. Pretty expensive place for middle of Burbank and right off the freeway but it's more like a 1980 best western. I will never be staying at the Hotel Burbank again. After years of staying at this hotel, the new owner's customer service policy is insulting. I booked the room with the Visa. When I checked in late 6/15, the young lady (who was about to clock out-she, told me) said the computers were down and I'd need to fill out a form to run my card Friday morning. I did and told them I wanted the room charged to my MC. She said "No problem". They ended up charging both my Visa and my Master Card. They were able to refund the MasterCard but they are charging the Visa causing my Visa debt card to be over -$842 in the red. After talking to Mgr. Monica and Asst Mgr Anthony, told me it was their system error but could not help with the Visa. I asked for a comp for 2 nights on our next stay, and Anthony said he could only give me a meal voucher. Insulting! This past holiday my wife and I went through the Southwest crisis (on our way to the Hotel Burbank ironically) and they made good with customers who were affected by their system going down. Apparently, the Hotel Burbank does not value their customers as much. They just lost a long-time customer. We'll be staying somewhere else over next Christmas. Sad. read more

I'm not one to usually write negative reviews, but this case is an exception. Firstly, the so-called "high-speed Wi-Fi" is about a joke. It was the slowest (when it was actually connecting to my devices) and trying to get from one website to the next was a nightmare. Secondly, they are located right next to the freeway, and even 18 stories up you can still hear everything all. Night. Long... Oh, and there's also a train that likes to use its horn the whole way passing by the Hotel, which is something else that they don't seem to mention anywhere. Thirdly, their rooms have the outlets that are connected to the light fixtures in the rooms, but that's not the issue. The issue is that three out of six of the total outlets in the room were connected to these lights and none of them worked. Three outlets for three people who obviously would have more than three things to plug in meant we were constantly juggling what devices were plugged in where. Fourth thing was storage. They conveniently took their example pictures to hide that the total storage in the room is one small desk with no drawers, two small drawers attached to the tv stand, and something I wouldn't even call a closet, and more like a clothes rack. Fifth and finally is that the room doesn't have a safe. The only good thing about the Hotel is the location. It is about a nine minute walk to the Burbank Mall which was nice, and there is no shortage of places to eat around the hotel. read more

Not sure why a hotel operator would give up the international brand name of Holiday Inn to become an independent hotel but this is what Hotel Burbank has become. Because the branding change is recent, the review doesn't necessarily reflect ownership, but the hotel itself. One of main selling points of this hotel, the Crystal View Lounge on the 18th floor with an inpressive view of the valley, is still closed post-pandemic. When I asked the hotel staff about it, they said it was closed for renovation. However when I looked through the window of the lounge door, absolutely nothing is being done inside. The lounge looks exacty as it was left two years ago. Had I known the lounge was still closed, I would not have booked this hotel. Owner needs to focus on re-opening the lounge immediately. Also, hotel needs to add vending machines on each floor or add stock which is sorely lacking to the downstairs cafe/store. There are no convenience stores within walking distance. Parking is $22. Don't remember what it was when it was a Holiday Inn. However the hotel is not a $247/night hotel, however, for many reasons. Of course it is L.A. where everything is overpriced. Hotel is in a great location and within pwalking distance of a ton of restaurants, a mall, and a movie theater which is great. Staff was nice. I have always liked the hotel itself when it was Holiday Inn, but when the Crystal View lounge was open. Not sure painting the entire side of an 18 story building in the colors of the rainbow works either. Surprised the City of Burbank allowed it. It looks garish and can be seen for miles. Hotel needs an upgrade. Makes me wonder did Holiday Inn pull the franchise or did the operator exit on their own? An upgrade for a hotel this size would easily be $50-$100 million. Stay far, far away. Several reasons. First, the bathroom had not been cleaned. It was late when I arrived, so I dealt with it by wiping the toilet down myself. Then I turned down the bed and found ants. There were only a few, but that's all it took for me to search the entire bed. I had an early flight the next morning and did not sleep well. When I awoke the next morning, I found four more ants in the bed. I spoke to the desk attendant, and she said she would let housekeeping and guest services know, and that someone would reach out to me. After three weeks, I called again, and again the desk attendee told me that she would contact guest services and assured me that someone would call me back. No one did. I'm done waiting. I hate to write negative reviews, preferring to write positive ones, but not even bothering to respond to issues like these is unacceptable. I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Burbank Center last night. I checked in at around 1 am after leaving Universal Studios Horror Nights. My friend and I were exhausted but we decided to shower and decompress after a long night. After we got ourselves situated, I decided to lay in bed. I was instantly itchy. I inspected the bed and noticed this yellow stain. I followed up with front desk and offered to change my sheets. It was 3 A.M. and I was exhausted. I politely declined and offered to speak to management about it in the morning so this issue doesn't persist for other guests. I got in contact with Sarah at the front desk and she wasn't helpful (it wasn't her fault the manager wasn't on location). She gave me answers and told Maria (the morning manager) to follow up. 4 hours later, I received a call from Maria who said the Housekeeping Manager Jorge was unable to find any stains. I send her the proof of the Stain and she said she was unable to find it. So I request to speak to Jorge. I ask to speak to the housekeeping manager and was transferred. I spoke to him and he also said he couldn't see! In addition, he said he went up there to check on the stain at 10:30 A.M. this morning. However, that is lie #1 I was still in my room at that time. Lie #2 is that there is NO STAIN. He informed me they changed all the sheets in the building YESTERDAY. but there's a stain on my sheets so. read more

The Holiday Inn in downtown Burbank is the perfect place to stay if you want to be in walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. It's a very large hotel with two towers. There is ample parking in the structure for $12 a night. Although upon initial check-in the parking attendant was extremely rude. I remarked about the incident during check-in and there was no reaction from the front desk staff. Maybe he was already aware of the poor customer service, or maybe he just didn't care. Regardless, it was kind of weird. Our room was on the 12th floor, so we had a great view of the city. Although, surprisingly it was a bit noisy. We could hear the train. . For the price, location, and quality of the room, it was pretty good value. Breakfast is standard Holiday Inn food. The Holiday Inn is also a conference and wedding venue. The staff is very professional, and the Catering Sales Associate Stephanie Montes is organized, timely, and helpful. You get what you pay for. Outdated tv... not smart tv with Netflix, Hulu, etc. they only have 2 elevators in the lobby for 19 floors.... Horrible. Parking is $19 a day. There's no street parking. Therefore, you have to pay for hotel parking. Not to mention that elevator stopped working, 2 days in a row!!!!!! so the lobby was full of people. We couldn't take the elevator since we were on the 18th floor. Then when the elevator did come, it was overcrowded since people were tired of waiting, talking about a non Covid protocol. Nevertheless they did offer Clean room, which had mini fridge and a mini microwave... a plus. And this hotel is centrally located. Banks, food eatery, coffee, shopping, movie theatre, all within walking distance. Sloooooooooooow check in process and they do not offer self check in, so you have to wait for a check in agent however the lady with the accent was extremely professional, friendly and efficient. She did her best, since it was quite busy. I called the front desk twice during my stay to request room service for clean towels BOTH times I was on hold for 8 minutes. Yikes. Talk about overall horrendous customer service. Thank you but overall I can't say that I will return unless they at least upgrade their TVs. read more

To start the location, the outside, and the common areas were great. But the room, not so much. None of the outlets in the lamps worked and all the outlets I checked didn't work, except the one under the desk. The bathroom was the worst by far. The light switch was broken, the bathroom fan was falling out of the ceiling, and the shower was a whole other situation. The tub didn't drain so by the end of the shower we were standing in soapy water. The water would come out of both the faucet and the shower head which made the the tub fill up even faster. Additionally the water pressure was so hard that it hurt. We noted the issues when we checked out and the girl at the front desk called and talked to a manager who said they would take care of our parking fee for both nights. We were only refunded one night and when we called to ask, the manager we spoke to was very rude and hung up on us. The overall experience wasn't great and for how much the room cost. We were overall disappointed in our stay, the only positive is that we were only in our room to sleep and not to hang out. Please be aware of the fact that even though the hotel has good rating that they aren't as great as you would believe just based on the reviews. Update: the pending refund the hotel offered for the one night of parking was revoked and they did not refund our parking. read more

I just finished a 3-day stay at this hotel and it was nothing short of a wonderful experience. Overall, folks should be aware that the historical unfavorable Yelp reviews for this hotel are from back in the day before the remodeling facelift. The hotel is fresh, clean, and modern. The staff helped to make my stay a memorable one. First, the honest and helpful cleaning maid found my phone charger and placed it in a plastic bag so that the front desk could contact me and bring the charger to me. Second, a staffer moved a comfy chair over to me while I was sitting on the floor next to an outlet in the lobby while charging my laptop. Finally, the serving staff was incredible. They brought out our meals swiftly like a polite version of Dale Earnhardt's pit crew. There was ALWAYS a helpful staff member to answer questions and ready to do anything to make the guests' stay pleasant. The location of this hotel is awesome too. It's located footsteps away from the downtown Burbank strip, which contains many food and shopping options. read more
