We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

While the resort offered a decent package of restaurants and services, it didn't quite meet our expectations based on previous stays at other all-inclusive locations. If you're considering this resort and don't have much prior information, it's best to manage your expectations. Some reviews come from guests experiencing all-inclusives for the first time, so their reference points may differ. Here's a summary: The real standout here was the staff--they were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We genuinely enjoyed interacting with them. We had a corner suite in the altitude tower and it was wonderful with a large balcony and wrap around windows. The room was very nice, spacious and clean. Bed and chairs were very comfortable, shower had great pressure. The resort had a huge beach next to the breakwater, so the ocean is a bit calmer in that corner. Plenty of space to lounge around all day, do it, really! The resort has several pools, my favorite was the infinity pool over the beach, very relaxing. All the pools and beach had guys taking drink orders, loved it. As for food several great options. The breakfast buffet at the O restaurant had a huge spread, no matter what you were in the mood for you were covered. For lunch the grill place over the main pool is the place to be, Everything we had there was delicious. Try the passion fruit cevicha, heaven on a plate. For dinner the Asian fusion restaurant has a great hibachi, the chef was possibly the best I have seen yet, very skilled and entertaining. Literally in soap water & back on the shelf..no heat..no sterilization..I bought my own cup to use. There really isn't entertainment. I was there a total 4 days& there was a live music band 1 night & not too flattering. My girls & I brought our own speaker for music when lounging at the pool, cabana, etc.. Positives I loved the set up & the fact that's it's on the beach. The best part is location. It was literally a 5-7 minute walk to the strip where the clubs, shopping, and action is. The spa is pricey but the sauna was awesome! I had room credit but in town are cheaper massages. Once I finally realized all the restaurant choices, i was a happy fat gal. Next, I ordered a plate of pineapple and an hour later I was projectile vomiting in the bathroom I almost didn't make it. However, my body was trying to get rid of those toxins so quick that I threw up so hard so many times my ribs on my left side were bruised. I mean to the point where laying down was the only thing that barely helped the pain. I had Ibuprofen delivered to my room which I know is harsh on the stomach but I needed pain relief. I had to have the people in the airport help me. I should have gone to the ER when I came back home but I didn't. I'm still sore. I know it's sick........... but I would come back here again because I love the room, the pool, the view, the staff, the vibe, and the price! I will wait a few months but besides almost offing me with the room service I loved every other aspect! Not too many kids either. It was a bit loud at times when people came back from partying. I was able to easily place a rental for a beach wheelchair online and by the time we arrived to the resort the handoff with the driver was super seamless. After a day or two, we realized that we actually were in need of a regular wheelchair instead of a beach wheelchair and they were able to do a same day swap. I am new to navigating the world of traveling with elderly + people with disabilities and this made our trip so much easier. I am so thankful that a service like this exists so we could all enjoy our vacation and rest a little bit easier.

The lobby entrance and view of the lagoon is the best part. You can catch the sunset here in February. And that's where the positivity ends. I didn't pay for breakfast or order any food at their cafe so I cannot speak on it. Breakfast is 300 pesos per person. They sell Starbucks coffee. Nearest Starbucks branch is a 24 minute walk. There is a pharmacy within walking distance but not like a 2 minute walk. There are some nearby restaurants but not many. My room was facing the street, which I don't recommend if you're a light sleeper. On my 1st night, the room smelled of mildew and remained that way throughout my stay. They use mainly cheap, MDF furniture and you can use how it's wearing off. Some of the beddings had small visible stains, which is gross to me. I would expect that from a motel. The wifi can be slow from the room during the day and sometimes at night. You're better off staying in the lobby if you want faster wifi. There's a small fitness center with a decent amount of equipment to workout. It faces the lagoon. Feels better when the sun is not out, hiding, or about to set since the windows aren't tinted. The bathroom shower never got hot during my stay. It was either semi-warm or on the way to being cold. The TV has mainly Spanish audio on most channels. But there are a few channels in English. No fridge or microwave in the room. Not sure why. Probably because they want you to buy food from them. If you want to book tours, there's a concierge desk in the lobby available from 8 am-4 pm. Some tours require a day in advance booking. I want to say their prices are higher. The nearest R1/R2 bus stop heading to Hotel Zona is a 3 minute walk. Going to downtown Cancun is right across. Both buses is 12 pesos per ride per person (or $1 USD). Runs from 5 am to 12 am. They seem to run pretty often no matter the time of the day. The nearest public beach is a 5 minute walk and has a bunch of seaweed. The seaweed makes the beach look less attractive but people are there. If I ever visit Cancun again, I have no desire to return to this hotel.
