We stayed for three nights. The hotel was very clean. I loved the architecture. The staff was helpful. There isn't a microwave in the room however if you ask the front desk they will bring one up. We also got a free bottle of wine. read more

We sincerely can't afford this place, but I wish we could. Our friend treated us to an afternoon in his hotel, with a view on the patio and lovely shower to borrow before we headed out on the road. Incredible place. Stunning lobby. Graciously and expansively decorated with wood and modern touches that provide the most unique experience. Hotel Chaco was exactly the rest we needed. My sister and 2 very large dogs are road-tripping from the east coast to Los Angeles to get treatment for one of my dogs, who was diagnosed with cancer and a fungal infection (not contagious to humans). We don't feel right sending them on a flight in the cargo section. So here we are, 2 girls driving a van across middle America with 2 dogs in tow, one sick, and the other one who can't sit down for a second. We saw that Hotel Chaco was pet-friendly and so we made reservations and then pulled right up. We were greeted by Jonas in the valet section. He was professional, upbeat, and quick to anticipate our needs. He helped us get our bags and belongings up to our room. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. We had a balcony that overlooked their vegetable garden and we could see the beautiful pool area on the right. The whole vibe of the hotel was peaceful and very zen. They didn't have a spa but they did have a gym. Since we were only there for 1 night, we weren't looking for a lot of amenities. We felt like there wasn't much offered in food from the hotel. However, across the street, is a food court type of place called Sawmill Market where we got our food and morning coffee. *There is a juicebar also if you are a 'start your day with green juice' kinda person. Though the property is small, it's very beautiful and very quiet. The lobby is designed well and I wish I had more time to sit around and lounge by the fireplace to really take it all in. When we left, Jonas read our mind and offered us some water bottles for the road. We were really touched with this small gesture and appreciated him looking out and anticipating our needs. We plan to be back again if we decide to travel back to New Mexico. read more

Chaco hotel is named after the Chaco Canyon which was the center of culture for native Pueblo people, true to its name is designed with local native Indian theme in mind. Hotel is marvelous, and deserving of admiration. It is also dog friendly as you can see from attached pictures. Besides the luxury associated with this hotel, there are other important characteristics. Beds are extremely comfortable, and walls are thick so you will enjoy quiet night of sleep! Also notable point of interest should be a bar/restaurant located on the fifth floor, their ginger beer, and spectacular views! As nothing in life can only be perfect, this hotel comes with pretty steep price tag, so plan accordingly! read more

It was not a great experience and Manager will still not return my request for a call so that should tell you something! Room wasn't ready when we arrived and wasn't ready until at least 4:30. Check in is 4. Once we got to the room it smelled horribly of bleach we requested a deodorizer to be sent to the room never arrived we went down to the desk and they gave us a clear spray had no smell- we had to leave the patio door open and it was freezing outside. The tv channel didn't work so they had to send someone up to reset the TV and the worst part was we had NO HOT WATER for our shower! I would appreciate the manager to give me a call so we could discuss this! read more

I spent the night here a week ago and WOW! This is a deliciously, grand hotel right in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque. From the moment I drove up and was greeted by the attendant, to the moment I was leaving and was assisted out, excellence in everything. I had a"Sandia" View room with balcony. Ask for it, it's worth it. Luxurious bath room, clean modern room with nice lighting. While you're there don't miss these features: 1) Level 5 restaurant-go have a drink and luxuriate in the scenery. We had a complimentary breakfast. While it was slow, it was good. What a beautiful setting for waking up in ABQ! 2) take a seat in the lounge just to the right of the reception area. Cozy fireplace,comfy furniture and lovely coffee table books rich with NM culture 3) if it's in season (we just made it!) go to the pool! This property is a sister with Hotel Albuquerque and they share this pool. It's lovely, nice courtyard , comfy lounge chairs. Plenty of fun things to do in Old Town, if you can break away from this resort type property! Love it! read more

What a rare treat! Everything about this gem of a hotel is perfect. Discreet entry, gracious bellman, free valet park, and then you walk into a stunning lobby where the front desk staff is glad to see you. It is difficult to take in the elegance of the materials used in construction and exquisite indigenous art work and glass and sculpture. The rooms are just splendid -- etched glass , stunning bath area, real coffee cups in the coffee bar.. Hotel Chaco does not cut corners. private balcony with glass railing.. it just gets better. The Level 5 restaurant and bar are too good to be true. The architecture allows for inside outside dining and cocktails. Our server, Marissa, was attentive and helpful. The rooftop setting offers many seating options each table has the illusion of privacy.. Lovely wood used in several different ways.. a very well designed place. The menu is just perfect-- we ordered several apps and perfect margaritas.. The artichoke appetizer is my new favorite starter and the charcuterie board was a work of edible art. The apple jelly caviar is new to me and I loved it. . Make this Hotel Chaco a destination not just a way point. Located at the top edge of Old Town Albuquerque, it allows guests to wander into Old Town, then come back for a swim or a massage. Highly recommend! read more

The hotel is beautiful, not great parking and mostly good customer service. The bar or more specifically the bartender, let's call him Bill, is about as personable as a bucket of mud. The level of difficulty it took getting a large glass (not a tumbler, not a dixie cup, not a cutesy slender glass, a glass - one that adults use to you know drink something that lasts more than two sips. Last week my aunt and I stayed at Hotel Chaco and it was amazing! We had a great stay. The entire hotel is beautiful and well appointed. The rooms were new and modern and had no carpet - YAY! Everyone at the hotel was super pleasant and kind. The only downsides, and they aren't deal breakers for us, were that the check in employees weren't consistent in the information they shared. The group next to us was told about the hotel amenities and restaurant and our clerk didn't, so we had to ask. Also, across the street there is an amazing food hall we wish we'd been told about. FYI its open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but be aware it closes right at 9pm. We had a drink in the hotel's rooftop bar which has stunning views, amazing food, drinks & dessert menu. One thing we noticed was that the staff was incredibly friendly and seemed to genuinely be enjoying their jobs and each other. Lovely to see! In the rooms, the bathrooms are gorgeous but they have floor lighting that is on a sensor. It takes a long while for the lights to go off and neither one of us (we had our own rooms) didn't realize they'd go off by themselves and we fussed a long time with towels to try to minimize the lighting. There's a glass panel in the shower that is part of the wall next to the bed so it's BRIGHT. This is a detail that would have been nice to have known about maybe during check in or if there had been a note posted about it in the room. Also, the wall the bed is on has beautiful lighting that is on a switch by the door. My poor aunt didn't figure that out and had to sleep with it on all night. Last negative is that the thermostat faces the bed and the light on it is crazy bright and doesn't go off. My aunt put a pillow in front of hers and I stacked a couple of books end to end so mine would be blocked. However the place is CLEAN. So clean and we appreciate that over everything else! So, even with the negatives mentioned, and obviously there was a learning curve on our part, we'd stay there again in a heartbeat! read more

The room was modern New Mexico with many convenient features, lights in the right places, all thought through and should be an example to other hotels. The staff was terrific, helpful, pleasant, welcoming. The restaurant at the top of the hotel has stunning views, indoor and outdoor seating and a menu and fare that is also top notch. Simply one of my all-time favorite hotels. The staff is A-1, the rooms well designed and quiet, the gym one of the best hotel gyms I've ever seen. The Sawmill Market recently opened across the street -- so now there are many food options within walking distance. The staff works to keep the hotel COVID safe. I wish I could say the same about the guest, there are a distressing number of people wandering around maskless (which is against New Mexico state law). Highly recommended. read more

My moms phone when off and the volume was loud and the bartender yelled at my mom telling her she needs to turn it off. Wow what an experience! I left the bartender a 0 tip, after being treated rudely. He told me not come back. They need to work on their customer service. Especially after spending 400 for one night! Don't do it. This hotel doesn't seem like it's even a full service hotel, let alone luxury. Staff is not informative or thorough. 3 of the 4 restaurant bars are closed. There is no outside food or drink allowed at the pool, yet there is no food or drink service available. Rooms are small and the bathroom lacks real doors. Showers have a clear (glass) wall so you are literally showering in front of everyone in your room. When we tried to get a drink from the sole open bar, we were told they don't allow walk ins even for guests after 8-ish because the bar closes at 9. The whole purpose of going to the hotel was the enjoy the amenities and the staff recommended we leave and eat at Sawmill market across the street. I would have been just as pleased (more pleased?) at a Hampton Inn or if anyone at the hotel explained the rules ahead of time, during check in, or prior to arriving at the bar and pool. Beautiful property, but it's run without the guest experience in mind. Save the $$ if you want boutique luxury. This is not the place. read more

Great hotel, Great views from the top, but..... Asked the front desk if the bar at the top was open and they said, "I think so". Got to the top and the lady at the door had to check before letting is in. Went in and the bartender was talking to another employee right in front of us and had to finish his conversation with her before acknowledging us. When it was our turn we asked for bushmill red and he had to go ask if they had it. They right so we opted for Jameson and had to point that out to him. Great venue, not very well trained staff. :-( read more

I just stayed at the Hotel Chaco for the second time in six weeks. I was traveling from California to Kansas, and back. My mother died of COVID, and I was going to lay her to rest. As you can imagine I am hyper-sensitive to the precautions to prevent the spread of COVID. The Hotel Chaco put me at ease. Not only do they have "masks required" signs posted throughout the hotel, the staff enforces the wearing - in addition to social distancing and other important safety measures. Also, worth noting, upon entering my guest room, the TV was playing videos (hosted by the hotel president) stating the staff takes safety seriously, and outlines all the COVID safety precautions the hotel has been taking. After traveling across the country and seeing how little regard people have for COVID safety, the Hotel Chaco was an oasis for my mind and body. Thank you! I took my son here for brunch at LVL5. If you have to do outdoor dining and you don't want to live in a tent, this is the place. Talk about great views. The outdoor patio was amazing. It was built with comfort in mind. We had a great server, she was friendly and was able to take care of everyone on this large 5th floor patio. Our order consisted of a burger with egg , plus the lavender crepes. AMAZING FOOD! LVL 5 with the views, the food, the wine; for two hours, we were on vacation. read more

Several months back I dropped and broke my turquoise slab earrings and I lost a pair of green slab earrings. These are my favorite earrings and I was lost without them. Due to covid restrictions I was unable to find any for sale, or anyone who makes them. I posted on the Neighborhood site and low and behold Paula K who works for the Dakkya at the Hotel Chaco contacted me and sent pictures of some of their merchandise. I went in and I must say that Paula K is a professional, knowledgeable, joyful woman. She took very good care of me and explained a little about each artist. She is a treasure. Such a cool vibe! When in Albuquerque, Hotel Chaco is the only place to stay, as it is conveniently located near old town. Not to mention, directly across the street is a new venue "Sawmill Market" housing several different options for food and drinks! The hotel itself is New Mexico at its finest from the lobby to the adjacent bar, a nice lounge area with a fireplace. There's even a wine bar and gift shop on the first floor. Our suite was amazing with beautiful views of the Sandia mountains and colorful sunsets. The restaurant on the fifth floor "LVL 5" is open for brunch, lunch, happy hour and of course dinner and provides more opportunities to enjoy the spectacular Albuquerque sunsets! Stay indoors and enjoy with tons of windows or dine on the patio near one of the fire pits. We had an incredible experience in Albuquerque and can't wait to visit again during the balloon festival! read more

This hotel provided the worst check in service we have ever experienced. We notified the hotel that we would be arriving at 4. We arrived at 4:15. Our room was not ready until 4:50. We were exhausted and there was no place to comfortably wait. The bathroom was a bit dirty (hair in the tub, garbage next to the left hand sink). The room was beautiful and comfortable. The room service was delicious. The prices were outrageous for what we ordered. We then came home and discovered that we had been charged twice for the stay! So, now we get to spend extra time disputing the charge. We so wanted to love this hotel, we are new to the region and looking for 'our' getaway place. This is definitely not it. read more

The hotel itself is very nice, and they have an awesome rooftop patio with a bar that has great views of the city. Also the food and cocktails are amazing. Probably the best lamb I've ever had, and the moonrise cocktail is awesomeness. That being said, the service itself was very sub par. Our waiter on the roof would only check on us once every 20-30 mins, and we could see him standing around talking to other people. He wasn't busy, so it kind of ruined the experience since we were always waiting for him to come back so we could order something. Also we ordered breakfast this morning, talked to someone at the front desk who took our order, waited over an hour, and then called for an update. They said they had no record of our order. We were starving! Very disappointing. I'm giving them three stars cause I can tell it's a nice place with good food, but they need to work on their service. read more

Hotel is nice, everything else seamed to be really bad. Everyone puts on a overly fake nice act witch feel a bit uncomfortable. Our server at the restaurant seem to be very over our large group.. with shrugs, and rolling her eyes. She took our order and kept messing up. The first thing I ordered was a coffee and never received it. In the morning I went down stairs for my morning coffee, and they kindly told me it was on the 5th floor. I went up to get woke off my morning joe, and when I got there she charged me $5 for it, not cool.. any other hotel I've stayed at offers coffee for free. I called room service to see if they offered any vegan options, the girl on the other end said let me ask the chef.. she came back and told me that she has vegetables, hmmm I thought, I then asked what kind of vegetables? and how are the prepared?. She said I don't know and ask me how I wanted them prepared.. that's when I hung up. SMH. I'm glad I only stayed one night for a business trip, I will never stay here again. read more

The hotel building is beautiful, but there are issues with the overall quality of stay. First, the parking lot signage is not clear. Where is the parking lot for Hotel Chaco? Apparently others have the same question and it appears Management still has not rectified the issue. Parking is confusing since the surrounding lots have signs for Hotel Albuquerque (which is apparently owned by the same company) but most guest don't know this internal secret, so its not clear if Chaco guest can park in these lots, or risk your car being ticketed or towed. The room was nice, however it was very bare with limited personal touches that make a stay memorable. For the expense, guests should expect a bath robe, maybe a complimentary mint, access to a microwave and some quality toiletries. All was lacking during our stay even though Hotel Chaco is advertised as a "luxury hotel." The food and room service was disappointing for the cost. Again for a luxury hotel with an expensive menu, it was lacking the expected details. A cart or rolling table would have been nice as there was no adequate table in the room to serve or eat on. Our food arrived promptly, however they dropped it off without utensils. A fork and a spoon would have been nice. How about a dinner roll with the main course? A pitcher of water? The food was very disappointing in regards to quantity and quality. Overall for the cost one would expect a more positive memorable stay when you check out of this beautiful building, but it appears current management does not read reviews or at least take the time to rectify the many issues that guest continue to gripe about. read more

A friend of mine and I stayed here for one night and found it to be an exceptional hotel experience. Here's why: - great check-in experience with a comprehensive explanation of the hotel and its services by employees who seem to love working here - clean, beautiful lobby and public areas - tasteful gift shop - attention to details that matter in the room itself. Beautiful lighting, stylish furnishings, super comfortable bed and pillows, smart thermostat set low for guests in wheelchairs, amazing and enormous bathroom with floor to ceiling windows (and curtains), fantastic and large shower with overhead and handheld attachment, great toiletries (I want that exfoliating soap, I should have asked for some before we left), statement piece sink, and the biggest terrace I've ever seen in a hotel room complete with comfortable and plentiful patio furniture. - our rate included a free breakfast and unlike many free breakfasts, this was off the menu, not a buffet. Everything on the menu looked worth trying and we really enjoyed the items we ordered (avocado toast with pickled onion and sunny side up egg, and blueberry pancakes with lemon compote and pecans, a latte, and iced tea). We had a friend with us who wasn't staying at the hotel and they comped his breakfast, too, despite our request for his bill. - excellent service upon checkout. We needed to print something out but instead of sending us to the business center, the front desk employee had me email it to the front desk and she printed it from there, 18 pages free of charge. I'm reviewing the hospitality suite at hotel Chaco. It's a small event space for parties of about 50 or less. I've been here several times. The hotel requires that you purchase and serve their food if you rent this suite. However, the food is atrocious. Totally inedible. Rock-hard cold meatballs with a really bad flavor. Dry pork sandwiches on dryer, flat, cold mushed-up buns. The tiniest tacos I'd ever seen with a sprinkling of mystery meat and I think... pimento? With no cheese. They were just as tasty as they sound. Everything that was supposed to be hot was ice cold. The service was attentive. So much so, that they had us all packed up and ready to leave 10 minutes before our party was over. I don't know how many times I had to tell the server I was not finished with my drink or my cookie. (The cookies were great because we snuck them in ourselves.) She couldn't wait for us to leave, and made her feelings known. Her presence was intense and unwelcoming. For three hours she pestered us: constantly taking unfinished drinks and plates of food away. I felt awful sending away a plate full of food in front of my host who probably paid a lot of money for them. It was embarrassing, but I couldn't choke down the disgustingness. We enjoyed our stay here at the Chaco hotel. We stayed twice. Once on the way to Utah and again on the way home. They were so kind and accommodating. It can't go without mentioning that we were loading our car up after checking out and my daughter suddenly threw up all over the inside of the car and some right outside the entrance of the hotel driveway. They didn't hesitate to serve us. They brought over towels, trash bags, water and even let us go back to our room and shower to clean up. In the room they had extra towels, and even some sprite to give my daughter for her upset tummy. They sent us on our way with towels to keep just in case something happened on our long drive back home. Thank you hotel Chaco for your kindness and exceptional hospitality. Car was vandalized while in the care of their valet. It's apparently a recurring issue there with no fix. They park your car in a public lot, no security, no surveillance cameras. Hotel was not worth $300+ a night, certainly not worth $2000+ I'm out now. And they don't take any responsibility. NONE. And they still charged me for the 2 nights that I had to stay to get the car drivable to leave town. WOW. How messed up is that. Don't stay overnight. And don't work overnight there if you have to park your car. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE management. They help to destroy your car and then shrug their shoulders. read more
