I stayed in a nice firm king bed with my girlfriend for 1 night. The room was nicer than we expected. Well-decorated, had a mini fridge, microwave, desk, vault, couch, and large bathroom. The shower had beautiful tile and a rain-style showerhead on the ceiling, which is something I'd always wanted to try. The free breakfast was good. A downside of it being a motel-style setup was that cars were parked very close to the rooms, and we had annoying neighbors who kept honking repeatedly late at night. I can't comment on value since I don't know what my girlfriend paid. read more

Nice little place to stay for a weekend, no one in our group had very much to complain about. It's close to a lot of places to eat (not just the Brazilian place next door), close to the airport, and is overall worth the amount of money you pay for with the group rate we had for the wedding. I had a great experience staying here. The rooms and building are older but have been updated. The rooms are large and spacious, beds are comfy, and everything is clean. Breakfast is the typical better hotel food with eggs, sausage, waffle maker, cereals, and breads. Parking is safe. 4-stars because the shuttle service needs improvement. Going to the cruise terminal, the front desk has a sign up schedule which works out great. The problem is coming back from the terminal. It's based on who calls in first after getting luggage. There's only one van doing the shuttle and it's a 20-minute drive one way. With many people getting off the cruise in a short time frame, the pick up list gets long and your wait can be long. Be aware of people trying to jump in line of you too when the van arrives. Here's a hint: ask the hotel if the van is full and wait is super long, ask if they'll voucher a taxi for you. One party wasn't able to fit in for their party and couldn't fit after waiting an hour, the hotel paid for their taxi. If I cruise out of Long Beach again, I'll definitely be staying here again. read more

stayed there for the snooze and cruise package. Everyone was friendly there. the guy that drove us to and from the cruise terminal was nice and his instructions were great! The room was nice and acoomadated us for a ground floor . we had a handicap shower set up. but the shower was awesome.It was nice not to have to worry about parking the car at the terminal and getting there. It started with airport shuttle service..... the driver was friendly and very helpful. He told us where the food places to eat were and about their "Snooze and Cruise" package. The check in process was quick and easy. We checked in with Wayne, who after we told him we were newlyweds, upgraded us to a spa honeymoon suite. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was yummy. It was a little noisy because our room faced a busy street, but we turned the fan on and slept just fine. We like it so much we booked another night for when we come back from our cruise. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Hotel Current! read more

Upscale above-average Motel but not a true "Hotel" since cars park in front of your door in many of the rooms. Some rooms face pool area (its nice) and are desirable while some face the noisy PCH and are best avoided. Most rooms face the central parking area. They have a well above average continental breakfast and great front desk staff. Rooms and bathrooms are very nice and of 4 star quality. My room had some funny noise issue with plumbing above me otherwise would have given five stars. read more

Stayed at this Hotel for a couple nights. It was one of the best experiences i've ever had a hotel. Clean, beautifuly renovated, great service, complimentary breakfast, great room service, HUGE pool, wonderful restaurant with glass windows next to pool makes you feel like you are outside when you are really inside. I just loved it there. I was actually comfortable sleeping in the beds, sheets smelled fresh and clean. Flat screen TV's in the rooms. This hotel was ok. I was disgusted to find out that the brown marks in our toilet that I thought were rust or hard water marks were actually the result of us just having a dirty toilet. We found out the next day after housekeeping came to clean our room. After reporting this to the manager there wasn't anything done to rectify this situation...no change in our rate or discount. We won't be staying here ever again. Overall, the hotel has a modern feel to it but because the small details aren't maintained there are a lot of little things that make it feel cheap and dirty. read more

i'm looking out for you. The staff was great, the breakfast was awesome! The hotel room was HORRIBLE. Hardwood floors I didn't like personally. Didn't feel warm or home like. The sink was gross, the faucets are open (for a modern look perhaps?) and you can see all the rust and gross parts you don't want to see when you're using that water to brush your teeth. They put water cartons there, and had the $5 price tag turned around. We drank one then figured it out. They took it off our bill, and we asked for them to not bring any more. (We have two kids). They brought more anyway. And the walls are paper thin, and there was a party next door to our room one night. Not the best experience. read more

Our stay here last night was amazing, meeting up with a friend from the area. Nice clean, simple, quiet room with cordless phones. Last minute find after searching all over the Internet and calling to find everywhere booked or over $200 per night. Jasmine was awesome in her customer service holding the almost last room for 20 minutes so we could get the payment arranged. Bed was clean and comfy. Shower head was amazing with shampoo and body wash dispenser on the wall (I still used my own). Towels were soft and clean. Breakfast was yummy. Hard boiled or scrambled eggs with sausage and bacon along with Belgian waffles and all the other cereal, toast, bagel selections and more. Fruit, juice and milk. Coffee was yummy. Breakfast room clean and well stocked. Convenient location to get some r&r and pick my son up today. Wish we would have seen the yelp deal to save $10 more dollars but still worth it. I can see us staying here again. read more

This hotel is great, especially with the yelp discount definitely worth it, the receptionist was very nice, check in was quick and easy. Walking into our room we were very pleased at how clean the room was including the bedding. The bed was very comfortable. The tv was modern enough to allow us to hook up our HDMI cable and watch netflix. The bathroom was very clean and I loved the large shower. Plenty of places to order food from or drive too. We did not use the pool but it did look very clean and for the most part was empty. We enjoyed our stay, we plan to go back. read more

Check in was easy. They let me check in hours earlier which was awesome,... they also let us checkout late. The shower was nice and big , very modern as was the room. We got a free shuttle service to the hyatt , the shuttle up to five miles away. In addition they have waffle makers in the breakfast complimentary, my daughter loves waffles, they also have Eggs bacon and other standard continental breakfast item. This was the perfect place to stay near the Long Beach airport. All the first level rooms have wooden floors. The rooms were just really nice. Great TV, nice decor and a warm and friendly staff. In fact, had to pick my daughter up from the airport and when we got back to the room breakfast was over. The kind lady let me make a nice breakfast for my daughter and I. Woke up in the wonderful modern contempory artsy, room. This place has all the amenities of radison, or hilton. The staff a super friendly and they have comfy shag rugs to lay on. The one thing i wish they had was a bar maybe a small wine and beer bar in the lobby but i give 5 stars. read more

This hotel was very nice and clean. We were shuttled to Disney on Ice and out cruise which they let us keep our car there for the entire trip. The people were very very friendly. We had 33 people in our group and we were shuttled in a timely manner. Breakfast was amazing and even on the return from our cruise, we were offered breakfast. The pictures advertised are very misleading. The bathroom pics are accurate but room is nothing like the pics on web site. Double room beds are tiny and hard. A/c is one temp. Door has wide gap around all edges. Breakfast is nothing special. Pancake maker is the only warm flavorful thing to eat. They have bagels and cereal. Had work done on our condo in town and needed a place to stay with our 2 cats for at least 4 nts. Spent the whole day online looking for a place with a separate bedroom and kitchenette that accepted pets for under $189 a nt AND had good reviews. Almost impossible - looked 50 miles out! I ended back at the Current a few miles from home. I initially passed it by, having driven by it, I wasn't overly impressed and didn't realize they had kitchenette/one bedroom units. But, I noticed the cool pics of the rooms and the great reviews, so I decided to call - and what a relief - they had a one bedroom unit with full kitchen and accepted pets! All this for $119 a nite!!! We were misled by the street view of the place - it opens up nicely when you pull in with tall fronds of bamboo growing as a centerpiece at the front entrance. Very zen! We had a poolside room. The pool area is top notch - just cooled out to the max-can see it being a destination party spot. Really nice music playing from am to pm and from the lobby, it's quite a sight. The roof overhangs and the rooms don't get much light on one side, but the kitchen and bath were bright. One thing: no elevators and we were on the second floor, so a lot of heavy lifting for the hubby. :( There are only 2 floors by the way. The decor was nice - different with a cool factor. The furnishings in the living room were a bit "used" looking, but just fine. There was no pet smell at all or any sign that it was a pet-friendly room. The wi-fi was easy to connect to. Flat screen tvs in liv. rm and bedrm. Bed very comfy, but hate those flat down pillows...brought our own. The bathroom appeared nearly new and very roomy. Huge shower - like others, we wished the rain shower head had even a little flow...it was sad...my cat is nuts for water and the water flow was so soft and quiet that she would stay in the shower when we used it - it didn't scare her at all. Funny! The kitchen was sparsely supplied and decorated - a few plates, very little cutlery, no cork screw, no glass wear or mugs (plastic cups supplied w/ ice bucket), a tiny coffee-maker with paper cups and those single use coffee packets that hotels offer. We ended up bringing our own coffeemaker. No paper towels or kitchen towels - used a hand towel from the bath. A full set of non-stick cookwear, small 1/2 size fridge with freezer, no dishwasher and a few packets of dish soap. Sounds meager, but we had the advantage of being in town- we just picked stuff up from home. Everything was very clean, but just bare bones. They offer a free full breakfast from 6:30-9:30 and you can grab fruit and yogurt to take up to your room. Also- free parking! Overall, we found this unit more than met our needs and we were so thankful to find it. The bill was straight up - no unexpected fees. Highly recommend it, especially if you need to travel with pets. read more

Calling Hotel Current a hotel is a bit of a stretch on the classical definition of a hotel. This location has been updated and was previously a motel. The improvements made are extraordinary in the rooms. The layout of each room is up to date with separations between the bathroom and sink, always a nice touch. It does hurt that the updates did not include electrical outlets near the beds. A second flaw comes from the definition of free internet. I understand that hotels are not providing internet free to guests very commonly however saying you have free internet and then learning it is for up for two devices is a little tricky. Hotel Current has an average hotel breakfast and a nice pool area. Overall the quality of the room is decent, but it's certain not a hotel. read more

Stayed for 1 night while visiting the aquarium, read reviews and it sounded pretty good. Staff was nice, room was nice, area pretty good but I wasn't very impressed. I guess rooms have been renovated but some of the furniture showed wear and tear, few stains on sheets (although they were clean), shower was nice. I guess you get what you pay for although earlier in the day I was quoted 5 dollars cheaper then the rate I was given later in the day. I enjoyed my stay but will probably stay elsewhere next time I am in long beach. read more

My friend and I stayed here a few months ago. Our overall experience was great! The room and hotel itself was very clean and nice especially for the price. The only complaint we have is that our mattress was very uncomfortable. It seemed to kind of fold in in the middle instead of being completely flat. It was very unusual.
