The family that runs this hotel is amazing. They are so kind and accommodating. The property is on the older side, but the rooms are very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The guest laundry is an excellent amenity in a pinch, there's plenty of parking, and it's very safe. I'd rather give these guys my money over some crappy Motel 6 any day.

    Cockroach

The room was cheaply remodeled, dingy towels and a couple cockroaches in the bathroom. The clerk was and is a liar. I complained also to booking.com. The clerk said we arrived in a taxi!! Soooo is that where the roaches came from?? NOT! I drove 5.5 hours only to stay in this dump! Just be forewarned.

We booked this room based on the website. Paid for 2 small dogs upon arrival once he saw the dogs he called the room and said we needed to pay 35 dollars a day. He said that it didn't book the dogs. We were then also informed that we needed to walk the dogs off the property on PCH. Why if you allow pets they you have a place to walk the dogs. Ever tho their was a couple already walking their dog. I asked the gentleman if he could come to the room so that I could show him how dirty it was. He came in and said, "You're being picky." Once a guest finds one thing wrong then they look for more I am going to refund you and you can leave. Mind you it was a 6 hour drive with my 2 kids and 2 dogs. We asked him to clean and sanitize the room but he refused and asked us to leave. We were now stuck for 4 days trying to find housing that was pet friendly and had space. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL.

Here's everything I'm talking about do not book your stay here!

This is probably the worst hotel you can ever stay at. Woke up to multiple bug bites all across my body. 100% bed bugs. Avoid at all costs !

Bathroom a little small but easy to work with. They had a fridge and coffee maker. Plus it's a cute area to sit in the morning or while waiting for your Uber. They have plenty of water in the lobby. Bottled and ice water from a large glass dispenser. There are bikes available for use. It's a pretty great location - we were able to walk to really incredible restaurants, and it was super close to our cruise port!!! We really liked the rubber ducks display where you can grab as many ducks as you'd like to hide on the cruise ship. There are also multiple family games in lobby like mini pool table, large Jenga blocks, and table shuffleboard. The breakfast buffet also has a good selection including made to order omelettes. * CONS: Overnight parking can be expensive especially if you are valeting your vehicle. It didn't feel safe parking off site for self parking. The elevators are slow. The hotel is starting to show some wear and staff is struggling to keep common areas clean and tidy. Our room's toilet was having issues flushing and staff refused to let us change rooms even though we just checked in room 5 mins ago. We had to vacate room and use public bathrooms downstairs for over an hour while maintenance fixed the issue. It would have been less intrusive and inconvenient if they just given us another room. They said they will alert us when problem was fixed but no one did. We had to check with front desk continuously until problem has been resolved with no compensation or freebies for our inconvenience, despite being Hilton Honors members! Fitness Room had no air conditioning and was very musty and stuffy.

After housekeeping cleared a used teacup from my room earlier in the day, it wasn't replaced...something I'd expect as a basic standard at a hotel of this caliber. I called to request a new one and ended up waiting 21 minutes before calling back for the status on it. I was then told that they would follow up on it and I'd receive an update on the status. 7 more minutes go by - no cup, NO UPDATE. I called back one final time, to which the man on the phone said, yes he put in a rush order and the man who's delivering it is elderly and it might take him just a few minutes longer. I said no problem but just so you know, my cup was taken earlier in the day and not replaced. The man then said he can definitely let housekeeping know for next time. I proceeded to respond and intended to say okay great but before I could even get to the great, he STRAIGHT UP HUNG UP ON ME. Also the person who delivered the cup was a younger boy so idk if the elderly man reasoning was just an excuse for the moment. I went down to the lobby immediately to speak to the manger in person and let her know how insanely unprofessional, unpleasant, and UNCOOL this was. They made an error and I got attitude back for it?! AT A FIVE STAR HOTEL. To their credit, she did apologize and sent up dessert, but by that point the issue wasn't about the teacup or a free comped anything. It was about the breakdown in communication, lack of respect, and service quality. Overall, not the level of service I anticipated for the price, which is disappointing. I will not be staying here again and don't recommend it for anyone else looking for a true five star experience.

The fan in the bedroom hardly works. The low and high fan are practically working at the same speed and I didn't notice any difference. The room finally got to the desired temp after about 2-3 hours. The cabinet door to the fridge was broken at a hinge so we weren't able to access the fridge at all. Also, some of the channels on cable tv were not accessible. We have never been fans of powdered reconstituted egg products which we have come across with Hampton Inn's in the past. The rooms are so dated and nothing works! The wifi is spotty, the rooms are ice boxes and the linens are thin and flimsy, and the bathrooms are barely useable. During this last stay, there was no hot water so we couldn't shower before heading home. I called the front desk and spoke to a woman who said I was the second caller with this issue and would send "engineering" to check it out. No one ever came and an hour later when I called back, the front desk had stopped answering the phone. I tried three times.
